Do you have a vegetarian option dev, I find the contents of your coin disagree with my ethics - as much as I am tempted by the free token.....

Meat is murder - except for tokens!

Oh mate you need to head over to eSoySubstituteSausage , just released in the last 13 seconds.
Thanks Buddy - Is there a gluten-free token too for my other friends, and an analogue version for those who don't like digital???

Re: Philippines is starting to accept bitcoin.

I see some people here from the Philippines who are saying that they think their country is behind other countries in adopting Bitcoin. I am not certain that that is the case, countries like the Philippines might actually have an opportunity to pass the rest of the world with their adoption of technologies like Bitcoin. This happened before with mobile vs fixed line telephones for example.

Re: Why media against bitcoin ?
by

I think much of the traditional news reporting isn't necessarily against Bitcoin, but more likely doesn't want to challenge their audience or the status quo too much. Alternatively, when the price is high or low you will find some talking head who is wishing for it to be the other way. If you search there are some good media sources who present unbiased reporting, but much of what people refer to as mainstream media is little more than "light entertainment" in my view.

The easiest answer is to select different news sources, seek out sources that present both sides of the "coin" when necessary.

Glad to see the new 2.0.0.7 Wallet released for Mac. It seems to work great, my couple of masternodes were running blind for the last couple of weeks. But they are now reporting home.

If only everyone would stop dumping alt's now. What on earth gets into people - one minute they are all into it, next minute they cant hold it together.

Re: Right time to buy bitcoin

The right time to buy is always going to be obvious in retrospect. But looking at it in the present you have to balance your appetite for risk, reward and timeframe. I expect that if you are patient and have a long-term view, it is always a good time to buy. If you are trading in and out quickly I dont have a clear answer.

Re: crypto market demand is increasing
by

The recent downward swing, and the more recent upward swing, or call it crash and recovery or whatever you want is the wrong way of looking at all of this. This is a volatile market because nobody is yet certain how the demand is going to play out. Look around, people, you have seen nothing yet. The demand is going to be huge. There are only a few people using crypto and Bitcoin - ask yourself, what happens when everyone comes, so next time the price drops (or increases) by 30 or 40 % stay calm cause you have seen nothing yet.

Re: How to choose the right exchange?

It is disappointing but many exchanges are proving to be problematic at this time. While some are probably suffering from huge demand and scaling issues, others it seems are either badly run, or worse. I think exchanges will be very much in focus this year - and perhaps not in a good way.

Re: how to predict bitcoin price increase or decrease?
by
finthebar
on 14/02/2018, 12:57:08 UTC
If you ever come up with a reliable way of predicting you will become a very wealthy person. There are many people have some very complicated mechanisms to predict where the price is going to be, but I dont these are reliable. I think, for me at least the best approach is to decide long term if bitcoin is going to be used by more or fewer people (I believe more), then based on this you can guess the general direction which the price is going. But it is still only a best guess.

Re: Bitcoin price back green after hitting $6000 USD, will this trend continue?
by

Yes. No. Maybe.

Up. Down. Sideways.

Anyone who says they know for sure is lying.

Wow you nailed it The market is definitely, maybe, probably, certainly going to do something.

In all honesty, where it goes in the short term I have no idea, I have given up trying to guess. I am a long term believer and I think that mid to long term this can only go one way, I think the co-ordinated effort by the banks to kill crypto (at least what they dont create) is ill advised, and will backfire in the long run, all we have to do is wait it out. Thats might not be be easy if you are depending on Bitcoin price rise in the short term, but if you can afford to wait you will do fine.

I had a Puzzcoin Masternode running for a few weeks - but after Dev abandoned and exchanges shut it down I shut down the Masternode. I saw on lycheebit today that this is still being mined.

The Masternode actually didnt look too bad, cost me a bit too. Who knows maybe it might pay off long term?

Re: Will bitcoin Die because of global Regulations?
by

Some governments and banks have been trying to do an axe job on Bitcoin for a while. Obviously, the crap they sometimes come out with is at least, unhelpful and at best damaging to Bitcoin in the short term - but Bitcoin is in many ways immune to much of the interference, and it gets more immune when it gets exposed to some of these antics. When a country tells its citizens what they cant have - they usually want more of it. When the world sees that Bitcoin continues on despite all the FUD, it sits up and takes notice and begins to believe that this Bitcoin is an unstoppable force.

Sure it would be easier if the naysayers capitulated, but that would be too easy.

No surprise that anyone who wants to bash Bitcoin and crypto generally is going to jump on the bandwagon when the price is not looking that rosey. We will have the last laugh when they are left sitting at the station, I am patient and you should be too - leave the haters hate and hang in there people, its been a tough few days, but long term - you are in the right place.

Before things got crazy there was steady solid growth. Maybe things are just getting back onto that line?
"Before things got crazy"

You need to hang around here more often, things have always been crazy. Bitcoin price has very rarely been a boring point of conversation, its always shocking - on the up, or on the down. But overall - the pattern is an upward one if you think about it. Steady growth, I think not, its like sitting on a lit keg of dynamite - but hey its exciting, right?

It looks like the Koreans came out with an announcement overnight - about increased regulation, yada, yada - and around the roller coaster we go. The market is no doubt panicking in some places as a result, but like all such announcements, if you believe in the fundamentals, sit tight and dont sell into the downward slide.

Re: IBOs instead of ICOs?
by

I didnt realise the concept had a name (IBO) but bounties have been operating as a very useful tool for some considerable time in crypto. Look at the ANN pages here on BCT for ALT currencies. The first questions often discussed are bounties. People are prepared to do tasks and bet on the currency of the coin being offered.

I went to the telegram group but found it pretty difficult to follow along what exactly I was supposed to do there? The bot idea might be good in principle but its firstly pretty hard to find and secondly not all that helpful. What about some plainly laid out instructions in the ANN please?
