Many of these sell on eBay with a laptop-type power supply? Is that safe and OK to use?

Updated to the new Minera version and now it won't connect to pull stats from the miner. I get the rolling circles for everything. The miner is working just fine.
I can see the stats in the json file but for some reason Minera is having trouble pulling and displaying the stats.

There is still no video evidence of the intricate, fine details being hand carved with the same level of precision as apparent in the sold pieces.
Given how much time has gone by, there's a non-trivial possibility that any forthcoming video will have to be confirmed that it is in fact WoodCollector performing the fine level hand carving, and not someone that was paid off. I really don't want to re-open this discussion, but the facts are that he posesses Harbor Freight tools which he pictured as being the tools used for the intricate detail carvings (most being completely inappropriate for that type of job) while talking about posessing very expensive tools as part of an astronomical yearly income, and at least one community of experienced wood workers attesting to the fact that the pieces have the tell tale signs of being laser engraved, not done by hand. In a recent post regarding a comissioned piece, WC has seemingly omitted all references to "hand carved", just mentioning "carved" ... make what you will of what that is. The recently posted videos do nothing to prove what is being actually requested and the preponderence of evidence thus far, circumstantial or not, point to him having mislead his buyers. There is simply no excuse for not having presented the solid defense after all this time. These issues just scratch the surface.
So I just wanted to write all that to point out that this issue is far from having been settled in favor of WC. I say this as having no dog in this fight whatsoever, it just happens that one of my recent past careers of mine involved evaluation of evidence, so this topic is still close to my heart.
I believe that any and all well deserved negative feedback would still be appropriate. What's left to discuss now is which of it is or is not warranted.

You know, I really want to believe that the kind of people that would dump 14K on such pieces of wood, are those people that have amassed a large number of Bitcoins when they were like $16 a piece.

Correct, but those instant access to money limits are increased over time as you conclude more transactions and build trust with Circle. I've only been using it for a few months now, and never used LocalBitcoins, but Circle is amazingly easy to use.
The issue with LocalBitcoins, for my area, is that the sellers are few and far between that are willing to do cash, and they usually have minimum limits that aren't necessarily accessible to everyone, plus their markup is crazy high.
There's pros and cons to each option, Circle works best for me and I have absolutely no reason to ever even look at Localbitcoins.

That's a logical fallacy. Just because he was wrong once doesn't make him wrong on all/more accounts. Inversely, just because he wasn't shown to be wrong, doesn't mean he actually wasn't. That's why this is about looking at the preponderence of evidence, which is beyond the point of being refuted at this point. There is no evidence of the pieces sold by WC having been carved out by hand in their entirety. And that's the end of that.

Hey guys so I made this "hand carved" piece from "original" artwork.

No power tools involved, just your "hands" and "hand tools".

Took about 20 minutes to finish this masterpiece.
Wow, that video was legendary. For everyone that was wondering why we made a big deal out of the distinction between laser cut and hand carved, watching your video ... makes one wonder if something like that is really work 14 grand.

Speaking of Reddit, I reached out to the Reddit community of wood workers to get some feedback. So far everyone agrees that the pieces are laser etched, not hand carved. See for yourself.

I think this one is the most damning post

I scrolled down more on the posts and you can go ahead and tell that guy that his Harbor Freight lathe is not a $10,000 lathe. You may also want to mention that the Harbor Freight gouge he pictures is absolutely not going to carve the thumbnails in the video he linked to.

If anyone else here is aware of any other, larger community of wood workers, I would suggest doing something similar, but I really don't see the point. I think the matter is settled.

Where is he saying this?
Here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=935930.msg10260178#msg10260178

Let me clarify my point. I noticed the absence of "hand carved" and I thought that was a tacit admission of guilt, while still keeping the statement just vague enough for somebody to potentially believe these to be hand carved. Technically his statement is accurate, but incomplete/vague.

Note that he is no longer saying "hand carved", just carved.
For reference:
Carved = design comes out of the base surface
Engraved = design is into the base surface

Wonder if we took all the photos of his work and presented them to an online community of wood carvers, what they would say: 100% hand carved as claimed, or laser cut?

I've got a Rockminer R-Box, can anyone offer tips as to what replacement fans fit on this miner? I was told this one should, and judging from the picture it looks like it does.

I am an owner of a 40w laser engraver, and an immediate family member of mine is a professional woodworker, so I am familiar with most of the tools involved here, yet none of the evidence you have produced as of yet is 100% proof of anything.
Others, likewise qualified and more than you, have chimed in and said the opposite, that it's clear the intricate designs are laser cut. My question to you, as an observer to this issue and an outsider to wood working, specifically what makes you and I presume your family friend, disagree with that assessment?
