You can use money to buy illegal stuff, you can use gold to buy illegal stuff, so it does not mean anything if someone uses bitcoin to buy illegal stuff. Bitcoin, fiat money, gold, are just different forms of the assets.

I don 't think now it is a critical time for bitcoin. I've been hearing that bitcoin will not survive all the way along, since late 2012 when I know bitcoin, they are simply all non-sense.

It's an easy way for IRS to handle this, like anything else, if you gained value when selling it, you have a capital gain like real property, stocks etc. So this is reasonable.

This is not only for crypto, lots startups are just craps, if you have enough money, you'll get press and people will invest money to you. The news outlets have to survive too.

If you compare BTC transaction with visa or mastrercard, it is still not enough, but with lightning network it will all change.

Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments
They probably do, as they did a lot of work to develop the coin with many nice features. But the distribution direction was changed in the middle, the marketing was not good at all, this causes a lot people left the project, otherwise this coin should be at top 15 coin at least.

Re: SEC to Begin Reviewing 9 Rejected Bitcoin ETFs
Better they allow some to pass. It is funny that Bitcoin future is trading but no ETF allowed, it should be the opposite, to allow ETF first before the future.
I agree, the order is wrong, but it is determined by the interests of the bankers and speculators, maybe they think with future they can make more profits.

He is just one of the unfortunate that got caught. There are so many in China that steal and don't get caught, I heard that the local government even protect it as it creates revenue for the region, or for the local officers.

This is good advice. We should not hold any coins that don't have a regular dev team support. It is just too easy to create a clone coin now.
