Split work to different pools?
by
flamebirdstudios
on 15/12/2013, 02:02:19 UTC
I have a question. Is there a way to set up cgminer that it will split its hashrate for 2 different pools(or accounts on the same pool). Like lets say there are 2 accounts in a pool, AA and BB. Example hashrate is 1,000khs. My question is, is there a way to split work like

AA would be recieving 10% of the work (100khs) while BB will be getting 90% of the work. Is there a way to make this possible? It will be mining scrypt(litecoin) If someone can help me get this to work, I will you them a donation

Re: 2013-12-04 - Lamborghini dealership sells first car for bitcoin!

The title is a bit misleading. It was a tesla that was sold not a lambo  Tongue

It was a lomborghini dealership. Same way you can go to a Toyota dealership and buy a honda

Re: [$250 BOUNTY (in BTC)] Need Graphic Designers for New Worldcoin Logo

I might join in for this. I usually do visual effects and motion graphics but I wanna try doing a logo for this cryptocurrency. It would be even better (for me) to create like a video ad(like the official bitcoin one) but for your coin.

Most of my works are here: http://www.YouTube.com/flamebirdstudios

Re: Decent Mining GPU for around $200
by

on 10/11/2013, 03:18:25 UTC
Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good GPU for BTC mining for the cost of around $200 - $300.
I am a gamer, but I figure when I am not gaming I could do some mining.
I am a laptop user, but I am planning to build a PC this tax season to save some money for upgrades later on.
The current setup I am looking to build uses a GTX 7770, but I heard Nvidia's were not too great when it comes to btc mining. (ltc mining is a different story though apparently, but btc pays off more)

Anyway's, any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

Cheers!

For $250 you can get a AMD 7970 on eBay. Mine LTC of FTC instead of bitcoins. It's more profitable and then you can always convert it to bitcoins.

I might be interested...
quick question: how would you send it? Do you have a decent upload speed?

My internet connection is 50 megabits per second. Files can be sent through skype or a file sharing website

Loans of questions(Pun intended)?
by
flamebirdstudios
on 07/11/2013, 21:59:22 UTC
So I know of a site called BTCJam.com where you help other users get loans by giving in whatever amount you like. So like if Bob Jones needs $100 to buy cupcakes and he needs that money, he can go on the site and ask for that loan and say that he will pay back with 5% interest rate. And I can give him $2 and some other user can give $0.10 and someone can give $90 or something. SO pretty much you give how much you want and then get that money with interest rate. Is there a site just like that but just with dollars instead of bitcoins? If yes, can someone send me a link?

I will be getting my Black Magic 4K camera soon and was wondering if anyone would need RAW 4K footage. You will be able to choose what you want me to shoot and for how long. I will shoot it and just send the RAW files after a payment. We can negotiate the price. Anyone interested?

Re: AMD R9 290X?
by
flamebirdstudios
on 26/09/2013, 20:06:15 UTC
It will perform ~15% better on mining overall. ASICS perform ~500% better than GPUs overall. GPUs have long since become irrelevant in the bitcoin mining world. Even if major manufacturers were to add a specific SHA256 function to GPUs, the fact that the only thing ASICS do is SHA256 means that GPUs will never be relevant in the bitcoin mining world again. GPUs are, afterall, basically designed for graphics...

For bitcoin mining. In litecoin mining they are still great and make much more profit.

AMD R9 290X?

So AMD just annunced the new line of GPUs. For bitcoin mining they wont be good compared to ASICs but how about litecoin? What can I expect from the 290X? Hashrates higher than the 7990? What do you think and whats your opinion on the card?

You should try Cuda mining for LTC. It would be more profitable. You can just exchange the ltc to btc if you want.

Nvidia Quadros?

So I know that Nvidia is pure trash at mining cryptocurrencies but Im planning on getting the Quadro K4000 for work purposes. Does anyone know any estimated hashrates this could get in BTC or LTC mining? Id run it just for fun when I'm not doing anything. I already have an Asic USB miner for BTC and a XFX 6970 LTC mining. I profit more from giving loans and investments than actual mining. So once again, what hashrates can I expect from the Nvidia Quadro K4000?

Re: Dual Xeons?
by
flamebirdstudios
on 18/08/2013, 05:03:43 UTC
You may be better off buying a Mac Pro, new if money is no object, or older used one if it is.

I have an old Mac Pro 1,1 (2006) with dual Quad core Xeons @ 2.66ghz and its easily the fastest machine I ever had, and I had a few.

The later Mac Pro's have dual 6 core Xeons, but you need a lottery win first  Grin

edit:  stay away from the 1,1 and 2,1 machines as the boot system (EFI) is 32 bit and they are not able to run the latest OSX. You are not limited to Mac operating system tho, Windoze or Linux work fine with these great machines

Im more into building my own things, because I can already use some parts from the build I have now. I can still use my old power supply, ram, and case accessories. It would be cheaper building the a pc with the same specs as the mac. I just love the NZXT Switch 810 case even though its not the highest quality case.

Dual Xeons?
by
flamebirdstudios
on 15/08/2013, 17:32:23 UTC
So Im upgrading my desktop to dual xeons and I need to find a new case that will fit with the motherboard. I suck at knowing whether something fits or not unless I just stick it in to find out. This is the motherboard I will be ordering: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007KGXY0K/ref=gno_cart_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

My question is, will it fit in the NZXT Switch 810? And not just fit, but will the Cpu's have enough space, are the holes lined up right? and things like that. Thank you Smiley And ifit doesnt fit, what case looks cool/stylish and could fit that motherboard? My second choice is Lian-Li PC-A76

Quietest GPU?

So I just got my xfx 6970 in the mail and even with the fans at 50% it sounds like a jet. Are there any AMD cards that get good hash rates while not being super loud? Also I dont want it running hot all the time. It will be good in the winter, but right now Im just dying in my room cause of the temps. Thanks. Also let me know what card you are using, your hash rate, and the temps you manage to keep it on. Thanks! Smiley

Its a good idea for us people who cant mine, tried it a good few times but still havent won anything yet Sad But it is legit and free.

Some of the sites say that they payments go though coinbox.me so you have to wait untill you have a specific ammount to pay out. Usually that ammount is less that $0.01 so its gonna be quick

oops, apparently the link I copied was a redirect. Here is the normal one

http://www.freebitcoinlottery.com/
I don't get it. What's the catch? I'm skeptical of anything for 'free'

They have ads on their site so they make more money from ads so they give you the bitcoins. Thats pretty much it. This one is even easier because you juts type the capcha
