opal drive ain't no cloud storage. it is for file transfer between users and as far as i know it's functional but it's kind of user-unfriendly in it's stage right now Wink
but i think there are possibilities too make it a working cloud service. i'm no coder though i don't want to speculate about this too much.

FYI:

WOke up to see the crash error... it says as follows:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

This application has requested te Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the applications support team for more information.

When i click OK ... opal wallet comes to background and says: Opal-QT .exe has stopped working

Running off outside to have a bite to eat Smiley see ya'll around m8's.

maybe your cpu got overloaded? i had this error last days over night cause i had too many projects and programs open.

usually i don't have any problems with opal qt. but it was only opal qt crashing over night. no problems with staking btcd wallet or any other programs

How do I get the password to read the article on http://bitsofnews.net/ ?

the writing is probably in progress. we just got a small preview of what will come. you won't need a password when the article is finished.

btw. great idea to help the coin stabilize. i think real growth and prive movement is just coming with a bigger userbase but till this dividend program there wasn't a reason to stake for most users. i'm staking all my coins anyway, hope you all do the same Wink
opal has such a great base of developments. it just will take some time. people are so brainwashed with all these pnd. coins getting released, abused and killed in less than 2 weeks. waiting for a month is like a lifetime in crypto Wink

would also like to know if opaltkn is affected by this in any kind

I have trouble with the wallet. When I open the wallet the "loading screen" pops up, I can see the task in the task manager (win8 x64), but then the task just closes and the wallet never opens without any notice. I have like 30 wallets or so and never ran into a problem like that.

Any help?

edit: I could open the wallet once, but only once. Its just not working right now.

Same problem on my laptop. Wallet opens for the first time, syncs, then refuses to work. After 10 tries or so the wallet opened again and I could send my coins to bittrex and will I store them there for now.

ok, sorry for quoting myself, but I got no answer so far. Am I really the only one? This happens only with the opal wallet on both my machines, never happened with other wallets.

did you try the advice Voidlord posted right after you?
if there is still a problem please provide us with your os. win7/8? 32/64bit? most problems occur under win8

Hi,

The Visual C ++ runtime serves applications that were compiled to work with a library version.
And 64-bit machines need to install the 32-bit runtime to run applications compiled in 32-bit.
So, it will be a good idea to keep old versions, and even if you have a 64-bit cpu, First of all for Windows users, especially windows 8 users :

The Visual C ++ runtime serves applications that were compiled to work with a library version.
And 64-bit machines need to install the 32-bit runtime to run applications compiled in 32-bit.
So, it will be a good idea to keep old versions, and even if you have a 64-bit cpu, the C++ x86 (32-bit version) should be usefull

These versions must be installed manually:
C++ 2012 (x86 and x64) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679
C++ 2010 (x86) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
C++ 2010 (x64) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632

if you still encounter runtime error after that,

-Close your Opal wallet.
-Go to C:\Users\YourUsername\Appdata\Roaming\Opalcoin
-Save your wallet.dat & your opalcoin.conf files in another folder.
-Delete all the other folders & files located in the Opalcoin Folder except wallet.dat & opalcoin.conf
-Restart your wallet, let it sync, it should be good.

*if you can't see Appdata: click "Organize▼" (upper left) then click "Show Folders and Search Option" click view and Check "Show hidden files, folders, and drives", and then click OK
for Windows 8 From the Control Panel, type Folder Options in the search box: click "Folder Options", click "View" then Check "Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click OK

Do you get the runtime error right after starting opalqt? Are you on Win8?

For me pretty everytime is a good time to buy opal. From looking at the charts around 3K is a solid entry. solid as cryptomarkets can be Wink
Best things for opal are still coming (Drive, ColorCore), the community is growing every day and SuperNET v1 will be released soon.

Anyone a graphic designer here in the Opal Community ?  Cheesy

Opening up a CryptoTshirt store and want to include some Opal Shirts!  If you want take a stab at creating a design shoot me the image to my inbox here.

The goal of the store is not only t-shirts BUT to give back to the "devs"  so $1 per purchase is going right into the dev's coffers if they so choose. If not, right back into  the community here.

Let me know what you think! Thanks.

There's already some designs going around.  If those aren't to your use, you'll probably have to design your own or pay a designer.  If needed, I can share opals graphic assets

Yes, figured there must be some graphics around here. Can you point me to them that would be great! if not, I'll just commission someone to come up with some true.

i'd like to give you a shirt design. which format do you need? if no vector, which size? colors allowed? cmyk neccessary?

could u also tell more about your project? why is it better for opal to go with your project, than put up shirt designs on eg. spreadshirt?

i think KainLTD already created a opal shirt but don't know if its for sell

Thank you everyone for the feedback on the draft. I didn't know bassguitarman posted it here so i'm happy you like it Smiley
As already mentioned it is no opal logo, i just worked with opal logo as base. I like the opal logo but maybe it could get a little update and there are so many opal projects in the pipeline. Can't have enough logos Wink

Yesterday I worked on details and colors and I'll try to follow CryptoNick's explanation. Maybe it's too much negative space but lets give it a try.

@Voidlord: I love and respect Opalman and I would never touch him or mess with his style. Maybe he even can get his own logo Smiley For now I just can put up BlockchainBoy for some help

Hey guys, I usually don't like doing this, but Opal is a no-ico alt coin, and I've spent a lot of money building this community, and while I don't expect people to pay me a salary, it would be nice to cover some costs.  We've hired some world class developers to help us with the colored coins projects, and everything will come together nicely.

If you want to give us a token of your appreciation, you can donate to:

Opal funds: oPALAKHWJGkS1ta1X6cPGFzegNCxWd8XzN
Opal opaque funds: smYkaH1uajAikhx8NeRqCEMVcnQkmYMa6U4DgQgZVN3owJb2uG6jynLaNpSDsMzGPcJCkrStwrmNNTX tM7q4g6pSZown9nCTrkvAab

If you donate a large amount, pm me, and i'll send you some supernet silver coins.

~bass

I will donate to the busy opal.

oeeXBDWzbbPeNiQMt6iCAcToXVhBvjSt61 than

Suggestions:
ECCOIN it is attached to the function, and I hope if you can collect the funds from the POS. Option form is good.

Satisfaction with the option to ON also to ON. Wink

I like the idea. Will donate my POS coins.

@bassguitarman, do you have to marketsell the donations to cover costs?

Would love to see some confident coders holding opal or which other coin they are working on.
When ICO/donations are always traded for fiat, it's harming the market. Then I would prefer donating in €/$
