It is very difficult to shutdown bitcoin. Yes, if there is no electricity and internet connection, bitcoin will stop functioning and eventually it will die. Another scenario is if all the government bans it, then it will have adverse affect on its life.

Re: Why are you investing in Bitcoin?

The reason would be the same as that of people invest in share market. Everyone want to make money real quick and shares provide it the same way. Either you win or loose, two things may happen. Same is the case with Bitcoins. In the past few years, Bitcoin has shown a tremendous change in its value which is grabbing the attention of people. Found this helpful post on google which i think answers this question really well. http://theconversation.com/four-factors-driving-the-price-of-bitcoin-87244

$80 is pretty decent amount to start with. But make sure you seek necessary beginners guide on investing into cryptocurrencies. You can start safely that way.

Thanks for sharing it. I think it is a good way to encourage newbies to be prepared from the payment hassles and save themselves from payment related scams. I was about to become a victim when i started, but saved myself through internet and reading out about payment transfers through paypal or other ways.

Hey, its a good thing that you want to teach your boy about cryptocurrencies and transfer the knowledge that you have. But as a father, I hope you are not forcing on him to learn these things. I mean, he is just a child, let him explore his own world. I just want to know how he is doing with the stuff that you are teaching?

It says I only get 10% commission on bets made by players affiliated by me... Can you higher this for me?

Hey! Welcome!! I'm happy to actually raise that to 20% for you.

guess is somewhere between 10-20 percent

20% is quite good, all you have to do is link to SD.

You may feel calm, they may be able to get Facebook to remove the page but it feels not as likely if you're not doing anything illegal

Hi I have recently invested in the bankroll - is their 2FA on Satoshi Dice?

Can't seem to find it if there is

There's currently no 2FA but we are working on adding it!

As an incentive, I'll certainly add more to the bankroll if you do add 2FA to the site. I'm sure many others will too... (No rush though, best to make sure its secure and tested well)
This is the main purpose of having such security measures in place like 2FA because people hold a lot of money, in this case bitcoin, in their accounts and don't want them comprised in the slightest.
God forbid if someone just used a password generator and got luckly on one poor soul's account.

and SD is so large and well known that it is pulling many hackers to try their luck, so if you only need a password it is only a matter of time before someone succeeds.

An investment in SD is a safe bet  Wink

it is absolutely a safe way to get coins to grow, much better than having them laying around in your wallet.
Yeah it's a good way to grow your coins, although you need to invest a lot to make decent amount of profits. i personally like to keep my coins safe in my wallet and sell them at higher price, i don't like to risk my coins for small profit.

we can all agree that SD is safe and they will not steal users coins, and when you do not trade the coin, they can just as well be invested in SD and grow.
I know satoshidice will never cheat/steal it's customers money, but hackers can as fortuity said. look at the recent bitfinex hack, they were quite bigger than satoshidice still they got hacked. Undecided

SD have a lot of their money in cold storage, there are often lots of complaints on here when people try to withdraw large amounts of BTC and can't because the online pot os dry - so its quite safe from hackers too, I think only a small amount of BTC would be taken - unless it were an inside job or the hacker somehow managed to access the cold wallet.

yes, and if the hot wallet gets hacked it's SD who loses the coins not the users.

I'd forgot about that part of the policy. SD is looking like a pretty safe investment bet (in comparison with others in Bitcoin) - its been running for a few years and I didn't see any complaints of money being stolen yet, other than in the old days before login when people used to foolishly post their URL on here

certainly a safe investment, although I do not have a lot of coins, I'm still satisfied with the return.

There is always a chance that they get hacked or that the owners leave. But as stated earlier they've been around a long time and there has never been any indication that something might be wrong.
