As for asic resistant, who cares?
Yep, and after some time (maybe 2-3 years) you're going to run and scream if someone send 30% of all mined coins in system to exchange's wallet. Like in bitcoin now.
Asics eventually prevent decentralization, the key idea of cc's, at some point 2-3 mining centers can the entire network, they can manipulate on exchanges etc.

you have to be insane to sell this coin right now and walk with the btc

Oh, someone manipulating, he sell with low price and flood log with big red SELL, then many peoples think that something bad happened and panic sell begins. Then first guy buy cheap and waits next price jump.

Without bad news from developers any panic sell looks like manipulations.

Someone please help me run this gpu miner in windows.
Am using r9 280x cards.
I can donate 100 drk's.
Compile it yourself with cygwin, instructions in README file. In root folder of sources.
Or you can compile and run it much easier on linux distro.

Also, about mining hashrate

RIP CPU mining.

Not really... there is not so much acceleration right now in GPU. My mid-end 5830 is giving out something like 660kh which is what a i7 laptop will be able to give when a few more hashes get accelerated with AVX/AES.

Yep, but most of miners using r9 280x, about 2MH's per card on current sgminer.

Hmmm dont now how great it was already it was one time over 0,50$ ! First the vertcoin looking to go to the moon but now it just is stable between 0,30$ and 0,40$ ...  And there already are clones from the vert on the way..  Can this coin really reach one day  2 / 3 $ ?

Yep, we have difficult situation now, when all technical problems fixed i think we need somehow draw more attention to this coin, it would be an advantage over forks.

Your coins are safe - nothing drastic will happen, and all your funds will remain valid.

You will not need to update your miner, but the pools will need to update their wallet. You will also need to update your own wallet.

You can update in advance, so you won't have any downtime or anything, and all your coins will still be valid, whether mined before or after the fork.

So the process is:

1. We release a new wallet

2. There is a period between the new wallet release, and the actual fork happening (the new wallet contains _both_ difficulty algorithms, and changes over at a predetermined time (or more accurately, at a predetermined block height).

3. The fork happens without anyone knowing anything happened, except the difficulty adjustment becomes better

The reason for the gap between 1 and 3 (the time period we're asking people to vote on in the poll) is just to allow time for everyone to update so the fork is seemless - if you didn't update, on fork day, your wallet would not sync the blockchain post-fork. It wouldn't drastically break anything - you could still update to the new wallet and everything would start working again with no loss of coins or anything, it would just be disruptive so we want to plan so everything is seamless.

As always, please ensure your wallet is backed up, not just because you're installing an update but because it should _always_ be backed up, preferably in multiple different physical locations.

Maybe Vertcoin should post it on first page with bold font to avoid panic and thousands of such questions? Especially the first part about the safety of coins.  Grin

So, if I correctly understood last news - after update of coin i need to update miner and wallet (And mine on updated pool), all coins that already in my wallet i can use after update on new wallet?
