tbh it's going to be hard to grow the dev team and even find people to contribute to making the next steps happen

the language doesnt matter much, usability is much more important and is severely lacking in pascalcoin and many other coins
a re-branding would be optimal, this coin has very good tech but the name isn't very cool imo

That blog post doesn't mention the weaknesses of Cryptonote/RingCT which I have explained numerous time. I posted a comment to that blog and it still hasn't appeared. Thus so far, I think that blog is a monero shilling vehicle and not objective.
I'm not sure it is a shilling vehicle, though it might be. Zcash appears to have paid PR going on which gets it a lot of coverage in places like Wired (along with grossly unethical pumping from bitcoin.com, owned by Roger Ver, an investor in Zcash), while Monero does not. Thus it is quite plausible that people might just want to respond to the aggressive Zcash shilling and point out some less rosy perspectives on it that you certainly won't hear from the paid PR and pumpers.

We are waiting for a forthcoming blog post from Zcash for their perspective on this comparison.
Very interesting read, the altcoin scene is maturing very fast (although I should say only some coins are actually showing promises and delivering).
I should add Monero is no longer Cryptonote, it has gone further and further still going.
If Bytecoin dies, Dashcoin will likely be the one to continue Bytecoin code since people Don't trust Bytecoin's distribution (82% premine)
Thats exactly my point, Bytecoin is already done for all intents and purposes.
