brain wallet with lightning network support?
by

Is there a brain wallet with lightning network support?  https://www.bitaddress.org/ seems has NO lightning network support.

I want to generate bitcoin address and private key with lightning network support. Exchange withdraw fees are too high for ordinary address.

Thank you very much!

There are a lot of update to bitcoin software, can bitcoin 0.1.0 code (the original Satoshi Nakamoto version) still interact with the blockchain? Or I have to compile the latest version?

Thanks a lot!

How to verify the results of glassnode?
by
franklin2058
on 09/08/2021, 17:05:01 UTC
For example, I would like to know addresses with balance >=0.01 (https://studio.glassnode.com/metrics?a=BTC&category=Addresses&m=addresses.MinPointZero1Count).

How can I check if glassnode data is correct from analyzing the blockchain? I am quite familiar with Linux but not quite with Bitcoin source code.

Please give specific steps and don't give irrelevant comments such as it is not helpful to analyze.

Thanks very much.

how many whales are trading in the last 24 hours from analyzing the blockchain?

In other words, how many whale active addresses are there?

Please give me specific steps to know this in confidence from analyzing the blockchain. I just downloaded the full blockchain. I can obtain the data from glassnode, but I would like to check it for my self.

Thanks in advance.

NOBODY answers my question, just some useless comments, so I guess I have to read the source code by myself.

I want to ask you that please tell me that how you do this. Downloading full block chain data is a difficult task and then check the whole data from this meta data. and then calculate the whales addresses. This whole process is a very lengthy task and also very difficult. If you calculate all the details so please tell the number of addresses and the date and time when you monitor.

Downloading full block chain data is NOT a difficult task. calculate the whales addresses is what I want to asked so I don't know.

Trades don't take place on the blockchain, instead majority of bitcoin trading takes place on centralized exchanges. So instead of blockchain analysis you should ask a centralized exchange to give you access to their database so that you can analyze what everyone is doing. Obviously they won't do that.

What you see some people do (like the scam site known as whalealert) is looking at the transactions and whenever it suites their trading goals they release it as a whale selling or buying bitcoin. Obviously no-one can know what that transaction was. Even if you can say for sure that it was from or to an exchange you still can't know if it was a buy/sell.

I agree with you, but I do want what I want, and it maybe helpful.

I am extremely skeptical of any statements by anyone saying that "whales did this" or "whales did that". It is impossible to accurately associate addresses with people or companies just by analyzing the blockchain. Even with heuristics and advanced surveillance techniques, I don't believe anyone can be as accurate as they want you to believe.

I do NOT want to "associate addresses with people or companies", I DO know there are addresses with large balances, I would like to know which address is changing its balance.

how to download the bitcoin database?

I don't mean the whole blockchain, it will be too large.

Is it possible to download the latest whole bitcoin database, with each address and their balance? I guess such a database is just like a simple spreadsheet. It would be fantastic  if I can also see who are the largest database correspond to.

Thank you very much.

----

For Bitcoin (BTC)
You could try checking this thread created by the former forum member Lauda in the Beginners and Help section. I'd also advise you to check that board because there's many useful information for newbies there. From that list, any wallet will do, but the easiest to use is usually Electrum

For Ethereum or ERC20 tokens; MEW will do, you can check the above post from BitMaxz to see a guide on how to set it up.

Altough you said you didn't want to buy a hardware wallet, I'd suggest you do. They are not really expensive; and the security they provide is worth every penny.
Also, as a personal tip, I'd advise you to steer clear of any DeFi, ICO, IEO, whatever name the new HYPE scam trend has; because you will either loose time, money, or both

Thank you for your answer.

I don't use these simple phrases for brain wallet. I use complicated ones. I am afraid if I use a hardware wallet I may lose it.

Could you please answer my original question?

I want something like bitaddress.org to generate public key to send my ERC20 token to, then use a trustworthy wallet like Electrum to import the private key and send the ERC20 token to exchanges for sale.

Thank you.

I would advise you to stop using bran wallets. Human-generated wallets tend to be rather easy to guess by other humans (and machines).

If you don't want to spend any money on a hardaware wallet, there are still plenty alternatives for both ethereum, any of it's tokens and bitcoin. Most of them are free and open source, and using them with some rather adequate opsec will save you a couple of scares if someone ever finds the word/s you've used to generate the brain wallet

Could you please post some guide or link? I am a newbie. Thank you.

Re: can 2.2 sat/byte makes my transaction finish in 48 hours?

I use 2.2 sat/byte fee, https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ says it can finish in 15-300 minutes, but my transaction still stuck after about 10 hours.

How long it takes for the transaction to finish?

Thank you very much!

It stucked for about 72 hours, and I bumped the fee into about 10 sat/byte and got confirmed in about 20 minutes.

It is very hard to tell. It could take just one or more hours and it could take one more day.

One hour or a couple of hours is almost impossible, the mempool has enough transactions over that fee to fill around 24 blocks, that's at least 4 hours if nobody makes any tx with a fee bigger than his during this interval.
I would say there is little chance to have that confirmed till Saturday morning.

I use 2.2 sat/byte fee, https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ says it can finish in 15-300 minutes,

Bitcoinfees.earn is garbage use these to see what the current queue in the mempool is

https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,8h
or
mempool.space

mempool.space looks very cool. My main purpose is to see how long it takes for the transaction. Can mempool.space help me with that? How can I see it for my transaction?

Thank you very much!
