Why doesn't everyone just build their own phone, I'm sure it can be done for less than 7k.

This guy....

If there was more innovation out there we would not need to spend 7000 dollars building a prototype that no one else can support.

Like look at  what companies think is "innovation" or important to us these days... read this article here...

Re: Butterflylabs Huge SCAM

I find it funny. I paid for my BFL hardware exactly three days before the first post on this thread. Personally I now can say that I was not scammed by BFL.

Now to be honest BFL is a bull-shit company, they lied with the Two Weeks again and again, now they are pulling some new bull shit with this Monarch Card crap, a terrible company.

But I finally recieved my hardware, and I will reach ROI by the end of the year.

Now they certainly scammed the community shipping time wise but I do not think they ever intended to take pre-order money and not deliver a product.

I think that BFL is a grossly mismanaged company with a whiny child like PR guy (sorry Josh, but real companies don't bitch on a public forum). But come on, what is BFL doing that Avalon hasn't at this point? I don't see people calling for Yifu to get a scammer tag.

Don't you ever post on these forums you piece of black matter waste!

Do you really think some of us are THAT stupid? You come here claiming you have this and you have that and yet you post no damn evidence supporting your claim and your activity is low as if you created the account a few days ago?!

Really?

Get the hell out of here dude oh my god you are a waste of space on this site, in your house and on this planet. YOU ARE NOT HELPING, you are encouraging people to buy from BFL and that in and of itself is a problem.

Now let me calm down here...

If people like us that don't know much about how a business should be run , but clearly see all the problems and easy ways to fix these issues... that means there is something wrong. Butterfly Labs is NOT a good example of how a business should be run. They only want your money and will do whatever it takes to get your money. Its greed plain and simple nothing more! I am glad I came here.... 6 Jalapeños ordered in March... over 900 dollars of my money gone.

Try talking to  some of the people in the chat box on BFL, most of them are idiots and most of them will try to convince you that there is no way to get a refund.

I DONT give a DAMN! There is always a way and talking peoples money without giving them a product in the allotted time is wrong! You don't have to be a genius to figure out what is going on.

Re: Americans are now ashamed of their Satanic country (USA)

I know this may sound weird, but I do get this suspicion that there is something wrong with us, the way we live, the way we treat each other and the way we feel we need to control others to give ourselves more power.

This is not about America, this is about life on this Earth. Something feels wrong and off, it always has
Would you rather your feelings remain as just suspicions, or would you like to see relevant evidence that would convert them into knowledge?

The Truth can never be said or really put into words. People don't like change and they will do what ever is necessary to preserve their own way of life.

Even if I really knew what was going on, I would never talk about it because then I would be putting myself in harms way and risking my own self and credibility, simply put someone would destroy my character.

We put ourselves in this delicate situation we call life.

Re: Moral Dilemma. ATM machine gave me $600 instead of $500. Should I call bank?
by
frankzro
on 12/08/2013, 18:55:10 UTC
Well you could call the bank, and give the money back.

Which would open up a case to have the machine checked and then would most likely point to the last tech who worked with the machine. That may get the person fired or get a slap on the wrist, you need to consider this. Were you the only person the machine did this for? Or was it malfunctioning like that the entire day.

I know this is your life and someone made a mistake which caused the machine to give you extra money or possible the bills were so new that they got stuck together.

Seriously, just keep the money dude.

Or give it to people who are less fortunate than yourself, someone homeless would need that 20 dollars or something. You could do many things really, its up to you. Only you know what you need to do, no of us really have the final say so.

Re: Thinking of paying 500 BTC for A BFL MINIRIG from Arvicco?

I had already ordered and plan to sell 6 Jalapeno Miners each for 1000 dollars. - Next Day Air Shipping anywhere in the US FREE OF CHARGE.

You think people won't buy it? I know for sure they will, Butterfly Labs is a money pit and I don't wish it on ANYONE to buy from them for the simple fact that they don't have thier shit together and they can't fulfill orders in a timely matter. Waiting a year for something that cost you so much out the pocket is already unacceptable and this man has every right to charge more for his Mini RIG, face it... the extra money you pay is better than waiting for the unit to go out of style.

I paid for my miners already. Yet I still never got them. BFL wanted a huge NO INTEREST Loan and they got one, from how? From US!

Again, I would not wish this wait on anyone ever!... You may as well have sent your money to prison for life when you buy from them. The only thing miners are good for now is reselling them for a profit because there will always be some guy out there with a ton of money that only wants MORE money. Trust me, someone will buy his miner or buy another one someplace else.

There is no such thing as "greed" if there is a buyer.

Its greed when you make more than enough and then some, yet you still bought 70 6990s and like 5 BFL 20k miners... I would call that greed because even after all that you still have money to blow...  Greed

I will say that this phone makes a lot of sense for anyone who is truly serious about Bitcoin which is why, I supported this project on the very first day with a phone purchase. Why because this phone is not just innovation it is truly revolutionary. It becomes a full fledged Ubuntu desktop when it is connected to a monitor perfectly capable of running a full Bitcoin node. More importantly because Ubuntu contains third party GPL v3 code this phone and any other phone running Ubuntu desktop / phone OS must be rooted. This is critical for Bitcoin because it will make it impossible for a manufacturer or a state to use the DRM in the device to censor Bitcoin as Apple has already done with  IOS on the iPhone and iPad. When one considers that most mobile devices today are sold locked and infected with DRM, IOS, Windows RT and even Android with no root access are common examples, it becomes clear why it is very much in the interest of the Bitcoin community that the Ubuntu Edge project be a success. Let us not forget that the entire security model of Bitcoin is totally dependent on software and hardware freedom, so supporting this project is not just supporting a good cause but investing in the future security of Bitcoin.

So I say we should support this project for among other reasons to protect Bitcoin from the kind of censorship Apple has already done or another manufacturer or state may choose to do in the future.

By the way the phone specifications are simply awesome and well worth the 830 USD price.

Here is the link for the Ubutnu-Edge http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ubuntu-edge

This is truly EXCELLENT news! I had no idea you could make this phone work with your bitcoin, but now that I know that I hope more bitcoiners spread the word!
