Als Teil der Nxt community kann ich ähnliches bestätigen. So lange noch nicht so viele Unternehmen / Geschäfte etc dran hängen, ist es einfacher neue Software als 'Hard Fork' rauszubringen. Viel kleinere Menge an Nodes die sich umstellen müssen, weniger User die noch erreicht werden können/müssen bei neuer Software. Daher ist es (bei Nxt) auch so, dass versucht wird sehr viel der Basis erledigt zu bekommen, bevor die größte Werbetrommel geschwungen wird.
Was nicht heißt, das große Adoption automatisch Fortschritt verhindert, bei Bitcoin ist es tatsächlich wundernswert langsam und konservativ...

I think what mostly defines the value of a coin are developer that can do both - developing and marketing.
In crypto people are asking for specs, how everything works and why one should invest. The name is not important once you put values behind the name.
