Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2024/25

Based on the kind players Barcelona coach signed this summer it will make them to go far. I like the boldness of Barcelona coach to spend huge amount of money to have those players that will make the team to challenge those top teams that frustrated their efforts not to lift some trophies last season. Despite the good performance Barcelona experienced last season in the la Liga league game, but their coach still have the ability to bring Rashford to join the Barcelona strikers, I believe the team will make sure they lift UEFA champion league trophy and la Liga league trophy, because they have squads that will make the team unshakable or unbeatable in this season.

Hansi Flick has only bought the goalkeeper Garcia at this year's transfermarkete. Apart from, Barcelona Management is buying any other player. From this it is understood that Hansi Flick is interested in dependt on the players of his previous season. The Barcelona squad will remain unchanged. Barcelona will play with the same squad. At the Barcelona Defense we got to see some weaknesses. Barcelona should have been to strengthen the defense. But , Hansi Flick will probably want to strengthen the Barcelona defense by changing his match strategy.

Rashford arrives at Loan in Barcelona. Barcelona do not have to spend money on this. And I am not expecting any change in the Barcelona squad because of the arrival of Rashford Barcelona. The attack will be Yamal, Lewa and Rafinhai. Last season this trio played great and every strong defense they were able to wander. So Barcelona did not need to make any changes to the attack.

Re: Is Buying Shares of a BTC ETF a good way to invest in Bitcoin?
by

on 25/07/2025, 08:19:27 UTC

I guess each one come with perks and disadvantage, with ETF you won't worry about taking care of your seed phrase, backing up, etc although you don't truly own your BTC.

Exactly, each has its own pros and cons, none is perfect or absolute. Storing bitcoins ourselves with a non-custodial wallet gives us complete control over our bitcoins, but in return, we have to spend a lot of time managing it. Just one minute of carelessness, one mistake and we can lose access to our bitcoins forever. Meanwhile, if we put our trust in a third party, we will not have full control over our bitcoins and our safety depends on them. But in return, we don't need to spend a lot of time and effort to protect our bitcoins.

Each has its own risks and which solution to choose is up to each individual. "Pick your poison"

With what you just said now I think things will go south if Satoshi wallet decide to sell some portion of his Bitcoin but is this not greed from our own side? We want developers to work for free for us, I think it's greed from our end, the aim of all investors is to make money but in return we want someone to sacrifice everything for us without getting anything by the devs, what a cruel world.

Nakamoto made the ultimate sacrifice but I expect him to enjoy a piece of his work it is a big sadness if he is not alive anymore because his work is now taking the lead in the world and he is not here anymore? That will hurt, but there is no way to know this right now.

There is nothing wrong in taking profits, it doesn't mean a project is bad when the team takes profit, they have worked their asses off for years and the project called XRP is still alive and topping the top 10 best crypto assets since that time, let them enjoy the fruit of their labor.

OP forgot one thing, Satoshi never swore or declared that he would never sell his bitcoins. It's been 16 years and he still hasn't moved any bitcoins, but that doesn't mean he won't wake up in the next 16 years to sell them, if he's still alive. It's just that he hasn't sold yet, not that he never will.

Indeed, many of us are not only greedy but also selfish in that we only want others to sacrifice while we ourselves want to make as much money as possible. But I think only OP and some people want that, not all. Like you, I agree that Satoshi or any developer has the right to enjoy the fruits of his labor. They deserve it for their contributions.
Even, I think Satoshi selling bitcoins is a positive thing because anyone holding a large amount of bitcoins, regardless of who are, is not good for the community at large.

Re: Safely storing bitcoins

I was reading a news article saying that bitcoins will not be safe once we have powerful quantum computers. Is there a good alternative way to store bitcoins safely in such a situation  ?
There are some solution to this already on the way.

However, if quantum computer can break bitcoin's security, it can also break banking security and etc.

By the time that happens, you'd also be concerned about other things that are put behind some form of encryption that now can be solved by quantum computers.

As far as I know , everything is still in the research and testing phase , there is no effective solution yet, but the threat from quantum is not so urgent so it will not be serious .

Banks and bitcoin both use the same algorithms like ECDSA and SHA-256 ,  which means that traditional systems will also be threatened by quantum computers. But the ridiculous thing is most of the news is only about the threat to bitcoin, no news about the threat of quantum computers to banks and their fate. It is clear that the quantum news was given for another  purpose .  Wink Wink

Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion

You clearly identified why Pakistan is struggling in this T20 series especially their batting in Mirpur. Even though Mirpur is good for Bangladesh cricket Pakistan top batsmen are not doing well at all consistently getting out for low scores like 110 and 125. Only couple of experienced players are scoring runs putting much of pressure on team. Even with better bowling in second match their poor batting still caused them to lose. For Pakistan to win any future series their top batsmen really need to improve.

Bangladesh has made big changes in their squad today. And they are going to lose very badly . Bangladesh has not kept Paarvez emon and Towhid Hridoy in the squad. Besides, Bangladesh has also kept Mustafiz and RIshad out of the squad. And we are not seeing good performance from any of Bangladesh's batsmen and bowlers. Pakistan has given a huge target of 179 runs. And Bangladesh has lost 7 wickets for 41 runs. Bangladesh will probably not be able to collect even 8-0. Bangladesh will be defeated by a margin of 100+ runs.

Re: Youtuber said best time to sell bitcoin is when altcoins rally? Is this true?
by

on 24/07/2025, 05:47:19 UTC

Which crypto is the best buy right now?

Bitcoin  20%
Ethereum  25%
Solana 10%
XRP 45%
16.4k votes

People are now picking XRP and Ethereum over bitcoin.
Bitcoin is the best coin to buy in all seasons be it in the bull run or bear market. Don't be deceived by traders who are after quick profits and is always on the watch for which shitcoin that will pump. We might not see an altseason this time around because bitcoin is still pulling the waves while shitcoins are only watching. The altcoins are on a little pump but that doesn't mean that they would continue to pump, because a little dip in bitcoin price, might be a drastic dip for them.

To be fair, anything can happen, we may not have an altcoin season or we may see the biggest altcoin season ever. Only time will tell what will happen, rushing to make any statements when the bull season is not over yet is just one-sided talk from an investor who only invests in bitcoin or altcoins.

I don't know if alt season is coming or not, but with signs like bitcoin ETF flows being negative or lower than ETH over the past few days. Or BTC.D only dropped slightly from 64% to 60% but many altcoins increased x2 or x3...this makes me think that altcoin season seems to not be completely forgotten in this cycle.

But I agree that bitcoin is the best coin no matter what season we are in and which coin to invest in will depend on each person. Relying on other people's advice or giving advice to other people is a bad idea, because we are all the same. No one knows what will happen.

I see things like "long term holders" defined as 6 months or something which just seems very short term.  This is a good example of what a true long term is.  To me it is at least 4-5 years that is "long term".  I'd even go to 10 if bitcoin had been around longer.

Many people have always maintained that bitcoin is not a get rich quick investment, they do not consider it a get rich quick tool and have no intention of getting rich quick from it. But what's interesting is that many of us consider a 6 month-1 year holding period to be long term. Grin Grin

Indeed, long-term holding is only correct when we hold for at least 4 years or more (1 cycle). Investments under 4 years cannot be considered long term investments and this is only true for crypto as crypto are generally more speculative. But for the stock market, it takes 5-10 years of holding to be considered a true long-term investor.

Re: Don't Cap Bitcoin: The Game Never Ends
by

Due to decentralised behaviour, it will exist forever.

Whether it lasts forever or not will depend on demand, it will not last if people's demand for it is no longer there. It is true that bitcoin is proving itself to be a superior asset, financial instrument and seems to have no limits and no other asset can compare at the present time.  But as we all know, the world is constantly evolving and bitcoin is just a result of that evolution. So if in the future, when something newer and better is created, the demand for it will probably disappear . So I don't think bitcoin will last forever .

Also, everything has a limit and it's just that bitcoin hasn't reached its limit yet, it's not infinite.

Re: Be a good example — CEO takes his salary in bitcoin.

He's setting an example to his company and also he's got wider reach and his reputation can help in getting more trust for Bitcoin.
While us, we're also here and we've been accepting payments through Bitcoin as well but we're not as popular as he is and don't have a title like his.
So, getting into these CEOs accepting Bitcoin like him might also encourage the others to do the same and the ripple effect continuous.

As some have pointed out, the intention is not to set an example but rather the company's strategy to strengthen and increase shareholder confidence in the company's bitcoin investment strategy.

Because bitcointalk is a pure bitcoin community and getting paid in bitcoin is a given.

I don't think this news will have a big impact because he is not the first CEO in the world to receive salary in bitcoin and the company is not that famous. Most people didn't know about them until this news came out.

We all know it is too early to judge Erik ten Hag’s performance at Bayer Leverkusen, but still, I don’t want us to forget his performance at Manchester United, which is the same thing that I am afraid of happening at Bayer Leverkusen. We all know how it started, and we kept giving him more time to see if there would be changes, but it just kept getting worse than before. Although I won’t compare the pressure in both leagues, because it’s different, I still don’t have much hope in Erik to do better.

This is the major point. We still can not  forget Manchester United's performance. Day by day we have seen a squad destroyed because of Ten Hag. Ten Hag has wasted a lot of money. He has bought all the players who paid huge transfer fees and they have not played well in  a single match in Manchester United's jersey. And that is why no one can trust Ten Hag.

I don't know why the management at Leverkusen has made Ten Hag the manager. Can't they find someone more experienced? Leverkusen performed atrociously against Flamengo. I have serious doubts whether Leverkusen will be in the top 4 of the table next season.

Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers ever, and certainly a top name of who we have right now. So that means, we need to realize, he will figure out a way to win again. Not saying he will, but you can never count him out, that dude finds a way to get the wins he needs, one way or another.

I understand the need to actually look like you are going to win, because most teams look like they are great even before the season starts and City doesn't look like that at the moment, but that doesn't mean we are going to see them fail. Pep is the greatest coach by results, the titles he won proves that, treble with Barcelona, treble with city, he is really a great coach and can do so well, so we can safely assume dude has what it takes to get the win again.

Guardiola is a very experienced coach, there is no doubt about it. Even Manchester City's success has come from Guardiola's hands. He has gradually transformed Manchester City into one of the strongest squads in Europe. Manchester City has won every European title with the help of Guardiola. Especially, City has won the Premier League title for four consecutive seasons. At the same time, the team was able to win the Champions League title.

Since Guardiola is the best coach in Manchester City's history, it is unlikely that Manchester City will sack an experienced coach like Guardiola. The team performed very badly in the middle of the last season. However  at the end of the season , we saw City's stable performance.

City has bought Reijnders , Cherki and Nouri this season to strengthen the squad. Guardiola must have a different plan for his squad. We  can expect to see another strong performance from City next season. However, the competition for the Premier League title next season will be very intense.

Re: Has El Salvador been lying to the world?
by

on 23/07/2025, 14:36:24 UTC
I don't know what bothers IMF, because whether they've made a purchase or not is up to them. The IMF tries to support a nation in its well-being, but these days such incidents aren't happening. In the past, the IMF had big roles, and now countries are trying to stay self-reliant and improve their economy. After the young president of Burkina Faso made the country people work for the betterment of the nation, there was a big transformation. Similar things were experienced by El Salvador on the adoption of Bitcoin. Even if the country is lying to the world for the betterment of the nation, there's nothing wrong.

Since El Salvador is borrowing money from the IMF and as a creditor, the IMF is not happy and comfortable with the debtor using that money to invest in assets that they consider too risky.

The IMF would not be able or would stop intervening immediately if El Salvador stopped borrowing money from them but I doubt that El Salvador would dare to do so as their economy is on the brink of default. Bitcoin cannot help them improve their economy as expected, and now other than borrowing money from the IMF, they have no other solution to save their economy.

United are facing a difficult time rebuilding their squad in this transfer window. Several players rumored to be wanted are facing competition from other clubs, which is clearly making things difficult for them, as they have other options better than United.
Amorim must be having a headache right now. Whether to retain some of his players or replace them with new ones will be difficult. All United can do now is try to improve their performance with what they have at the start of the season. If their performance improves, they will have a chance in the next transfer window. Hopefully, Amorim can do that.

Manchester United probably won't have much hope from Amorim this season. If Amorim can bring steadyness to Manchester United's performance and if the team can qualify for the Europa League , then that will be a good enough result for them.

Manchester United management is trying to decrease their expenses this season. They are trying to sell the players in the squad, who they bought at high prices. But no club is showing interest in Manchester United's players. As a result, Manchester United has already suffered a huge financial loss.

Manchester United will gradually rebuild their squad. This will definitely require a lot of money and time. Manchester United should not be in a hurry. They should try to strengthen the squad gradually. Then maybe in the next few years, Manchester United will regain their lost glory.

Re: Bitcoin as legal tender: A failed experiment?
by

on 21/07/2025, 08:51:25 UTC
infact what you should know was that Bitcoin was successful in El Salvador,

Although investing in bitcoin brings them significant profits, if we talk about the adoption of bitcoin in El Salvador as a currency. I don't think they were successful because as many others have pointed out, over 90% of people there don't use bitcoin as currency.

the IMF is only against the use of Bitcoin as the official currency of El Salvador because the IMF knows what other countries too will follow suits if nothing is done and if it happens that way organizations like the IMF will become useless and less powerful which means that less control over the world financial system

The IMF not only opposed El Salvador's use of bitcoin as a mandatory currency, but also forced the country to not use public money to invest in bitcoin.

I still don't know what the IMF's real purpose is in trying to stop El Salvador or Pakistan from investing in bitcoin. But reasons like they fear losing power don't seem convincing to me because bitcoin is just a currency and it cannot replace the role of the IMF or any other financial institution in the world.

Kucoin is one of the exchanges with quite good reputation in the market and so far, I have not heard any allegations about them. Even though I don't use it often, but like everyone else, I've never had any problems whenever I use it. So far, everything seems fine and smooth.

I just checked on CMC, this exchange is ranked 9th among the top exchanges and on coingecko, this exchange is ranked 12th and rated 9/10. So you can completely trust to use it.

Shakhtar started their training with their new coach Arda Turan much earlier than Beşiktaş. He has great methods to make his players ready for a tough fight. Now he is only focusing on tactical training.

Beşiktaş have barely started on the other hand. And they still have weak areas and need immediate transfers. I'm afraid I don't see them reaching the next round here. Tongue Most probably they would continue their journey in the Conference League.

Shakhtar are toward the front, Arda Turan has started tactical training too soon, and he has already impressed us in friendlies and Europa qualifiers. But don't count on Besiktas, under Solskjaer they are set to face Shakhtar in a straight line in Round 2, also they are trying hard to carry on being in Europe. So transfers may still come, but strategically they are not pushovers, right? I would say it is too advanced to rule them out, this clash could go either way be conditional on the final preparations in Istanbul & late signing.

One of the important members of Inter squad, Hakan Calhanoglu, is likely to leave the team this summer. Turkish teams have been strongly interested in him recently.

But there is a big issue on the other hand, his transfer fee.  Tongue  Inter normally wants an amount like 30 million euros. Honestly it is too high considering he is 31 years old. They will be asked to decrease that price tag otherwise it is unlikely to see him leaving. When it comes to the reason why he could leave is that some in-team issues. I have heard there was a quarrel among the players during the Club World Cup. Otherwise Calhanoglu still liked to be a part of Inter. Let's see how this ends...

Inter's asking price of €30 million for the 31 year old Calhanoglu appears to be high, mostly with just one year left on his contract and the age limit set to expire. But Turkish reports put forward that Galatasaray are resisting a €15-17m bid where Inter are confident and holding to €35-40 million proposal. I have read Calhanoglu himself has even appealed for the move, but talks are still being interfered with due to internal disputes. In the end, if Inter do not lower their asking price, the transfer could drop off anyway, so either the price will drop or he will stay.

I dont know how it all happened that you gambled too at a young age, but honestly the responsibility is on you to break this trend of passing it on to your kids and I think you missed that opportunity of giving your daughter to venture into other interests...just hope she does teenage stuff and mingling with friends and not staying indoors looking at a screen and gambling as a way of fun for them.

If it's tech she loves, why not shift her interests into forex/crypto trading and nobody will be mad about it.

Yes, it is really important to keep our kids away from gambling habit. However I don't think it will bring anything good if you switch it up with crypto or forex trading. You know, short traders are nothing better than gambling addicts. They are another level of addicts cause they have to deal with constant highs, FOMO, financial loss.. etc. if the kids use excessive screen then it could disrupt sleep, delay language, and affect their behavior. So it is also not ideal to turn a girl's gaming habit into day trading or screen time. I prefer to nurture a variety of offline interests for my kids, also I will balance digital exposure wisely.

Liverpool has made quite a good move on this, Liverpool wants to defend their trophy next season and possibly have their to the champions league final next season, and all this requires a very strong and formidable team to carry on this very task, I doubt if they're ever going to regret signing Ekitike, because the young star has proven his worth with his club, I really want to see an official pen down of this transfer deal between Liverpool and Ekitike.

This transfer market is the most active Liverpool. Last season, this team dominated the Premier League and won the title. Even then, Liverpool management is desperate to strengthen their squad. Liverpool is spending a lot of money. And probably Liverpool will try their best to win the Premier League as well as the Champions League next season.

After adding FLorian Wirtz to the squad for 125 million, Liverpool today added Ekitike to the squad for 90 million. Both of these players performed brilliantly in the Bundesliga last season. Liverpool added talented players in the midfield and attack. Liverpool bought Frimpong and Kerkez to strengthen the defense. I am looking forward to seeing the performance of this squad next season.

Re: Senator Lummis Submits New bills on Crypto Taxes
by
fuguebtc
on 20/07/2025, 14:00:27 UTC
I just came across this news today!
The senator who has been in forefront of advocating for bitcoin strategic reserve and better crypto policies.
She has once again introduced a new bill that should update the tax code on digital assets. This happened after the federal budget was passed without a single mention of cryptocurrencies.
Key Focuses of the document:
1. Exemption of Tax for Small Transactions: transactions below $300 will be tax free with a yearly maximum of $5000
2. Deferral of taxes of mining and staking until the moment of assets sale. This addresses the issue of double taxation.
3. Tax Exemptions for crypto loans and charitable contributions in digital assets.

https://coingape.com/lummis-bill-simplifies-crypto-tax-compliance/

She believes this will help promote innovation, reduce bureaucratic hurdles and clarify the obligations of tax payers for digital assets.
These changes when implemented will help maintain the US Competitive edge in digital economy.

These sort of bills are a double edged sword - they're great for making Bitcoin more mainstream as a financial instrument. It will allow institutions to trade it more easily, because there are defined regulatory frameworks in place on how things should be declared when it comes to cryptocurrency, as grey areas often present a no-go for companies that really watch their reputation. However on the other side, it's going to increase enforcement and result in a drop in anonymity, which is what many people in the crypto space claim it should be about. Frankly, you can be legit and still make plenty of money in this space, but you have to pay attention to new laws like these - or at least use an accountant that is fully aware of them - when declaring your finances or you can fall foul of an expensive fine.

Everything has its pros and cons, just like the approval of BTC ETFs or large institutions and companies investing and holding large amounts of bitcoin, there are pros and cons.

What is more important is that whether we like it or not, whether we oppose it or not, bills are inevitable. Sooner or later, the government will issue more regulations and bills to manage and control us more .  That's what they've been doing for hundreds of years with everything in this world. It's all a matter of time, so if we can't prevent it, we shouldn't try to fight it, but instead find ways to adapt .
