I propose here to discuss the objectives and the results of Merit. Why I touched on this question. I and many new users are faced with the fact that for promotion you need to somehow get Merit. I began to read a lot about this and ask people about how they got Merit. I was touched by the fact that many newcomers tend to buy Merit, and do not deserve it from other users, offering quality posts. I learned the situation about buying Merit, and easily found willing to sell me Merit at a price of $ 28 for 1. I can afford to buy, but this is against the worthy goal of "Merit". Merit is more than money! As you see Merit, I did not buy it!
Thanks to whoever sent me 1merits.I am glad to have received my first merit point. At least it is a start, I look forward to receiving more so that I can be a member.I really appreciate it.
I was wondering how long it would take. Well done sir.
Brilliant, unhelpful post. While you're right--and I've supported banning sig campaigns in the past--Theymos has already ruled out doing this. I don't much care if I never was in one myself, and I agree that it's the only surefire way to kill all this shitposting. And yeah I'm in one myself. I learned 3 years ago that to refuse to get paid for something I'd be doing anyway is lunacy.
And nixing campaigns would solve the merit-selling issue as well--but that problem is a distant second to shitposting anyway, though they're closely related. I still think, and I wrote it before, that eventually the merit system will significantly reduce shitposting.
And merit sources will hopefully not hand them out to scumbags who'll end up selling the sMerit. This is going to take time, and it's still early on in the life of the merit system.
I haven't been in the crypto space for very long but I will say bitcointalk.org is a little confusing at times with respect to its guiding principles (I'm being honest). At times it seems like the forum is based on a free market where people are able to support/promote ideas/projects of their choice - just making sure it's in the right subsection (also a learning curve). Then there are times where the free market upsets people i.e. this thread. Then there are those that speak to the censorship and banning of accounts above and beyond just the shit posts.
Like anything else in the crypto space, I fully understand it's a game of education and patience, although I'm happy to be on the big'ol crypto wheel now
easy merit? this is not a good idea. Check out the meta thread you will see that there are really good people spotting merit trades and abusement of merit system. why don't you try to write some constructive posts? i am sure people will give you merit.
Alas, I knew this would be the case, unfortunately. I do hope the system evolves past the abuse and/or a system based on peoples whims.

Crypto definitely has a learning curve. Too complicated? At the moment I think the scale tips in that direction. Crypto is in its infancy and it will evolve like everything else.
In due course, mainstream adoption will come.

Re: [ANN] Bluzelle - A Decentralized Database Service For The World's dApps
May somebody here help me finding an answer on my question?
Is it save to buy BLZ on IDEX?
After the information by WanChain that those WAN that you can buy on ED will not be able to swap to "the Wan-Chain" later this year, I wonder if there is any problem like this (or similar) with the BLZ one may buy on IDEX?
Damn this coin is doing surprisingly good on exchange, I didn't expect the price to rise so much after their ICO. Now it's trading at something like 4x times the ICO's price I think ? They got listed on Binance so fast, it's probably the most hype project this month people are talking about Bluzelle everywhere on telegram. I got lucky and managed to buy a little bit at a cheap price during their ICO. One of the few promising project for this year in my opinion.
The forum is a little quiet on this on. I threw a small amount at it because of the project. We'll see...

Any top 10 crypto on MarketCap for a long-term investment.
Otherwise look and educate yourself on the multitude of ICO's. Most are scams that will produce no real-world value but the odd one will show huge returns on your investment.
Ultimately noooobody has a crystal ball...

I use a fiat exchange for my country which is a little painful, convert fiat to BTC, then withdraw into a wallet. Then I upload onto Binance for exchange, withdraw back onto my wallet. Rinse and repeat.
4- try to avoid participating in signature campaigns because this is the big issue in this forum and the reason of the low quality posts nowadays
I don't agree.I saw many DT members and highly rank people's of this forum joining signature campaign and earning bucks. If your post quality is more than good you can join any signature campaign without fear. ~
Of course, the merit system is unfair with its original rules. There are lots of low-qualitied Members, Full Members, Senior Member, Heroes, and Legendaries whom simply ranked at their current levels by old system of the forum. We can not judge them about anything in the past anymore. All of them passed the ranking system before merit system launched. Ok? We have to accept the fact that now they are high-class in the forum.
As a result of that, I think Junior members should be allowed to join campaigns, including signature, bounty, airdrop, in the forum. They deserved and should have a right for those ones.

Agreed that the new merit system favours the existing members with no basis of validation. Be that as it may, any new meta (see what I did there ) always needs time for a correction.

Thanks for putting this together @ColorlessK
Hopefully, it'll make it easier to get myself immersed in those opportunities out there!
Question though, on the Bounty setting page in the Bountyhive site it asked for my Bitcointalk Profile Link. Where do I find that on this forum?
Cheers

Don't invest what you are not willing to lose. It's a mental hurdle that needs to be overcome.
I would unplug from watching the markets and set a date on your calendar to check back in, say March 1st. As per the graphic posted above, things will turn around assuming you are patient.

I would expect that most of the people that are selling are those that have bought in a couple years ago and want to book their profit while they still can. I know I would. Then buy back in when the price hits $1k again.

I went through the verification process with Binance because I was going through the same process on another exchange. Took 24hrs.
Looks like an interesting project. I too am curious to see how you will attract new startups to use this service. Conversely, weeding out the scammers.
Let's contribute to the forum, help other users if you can with high quality, constructive posts. If readers (I mean users) feel that your threads are useful (at least for their cases), some of them (I would like to emphasize, only some of them) will ready to send you their sMerits (sendable Merits). When you have 10 Merits and 60 activities at least, your account will be ranked up to Member rank, which has several priviledges in the forum.
may i ask. Do they really follow the rules?
There is simply no way to not obey the rules, every merit which will be added to your account is visible, so you can check who "likes" your posts. Imagine what admin can see - yes - all the merits added, so let's run simple imagination form, where you get for ONE post 10 MERITS which is HUGE! It already makes your way towards memeber status a lot easier. And, hell, all these merits came from one transaction, from one member. This member has got a lot of merits and he used them for you. Great. But, by sending you 10 merits, if I would be an admin, I would highlight that guy and check his other transactions, because by sending THIS amount of merits in one form would be a simple way of boosting other accounts, like a... let's see, selling merits for cash or crypto
Hmmm. Interesting. I hope that's not the case but I'm sure there is always those that game the system. Hopefully the mod's keep this in-check.

Re: YouTuber's using marketing schemes toward bitcoin
Scammers are everywhere and that is sad to say, schemes, fraud and fakes videos are also scattered in YouTube channel, so be careful in what to believe into.
When I was student also I used to search cooking video in YouTube especially baking, then I figure out that some video are made just for fun, some are real and most of them are fabricated.
When it come to business venture or related activities like bitcoin, or any bitcoin programs you have to check their background, vision, who are the persons involved, any achievement? History background in order to be sure, before joining them....
I hate to say it but the ratio is probably 100 to 1 in the scammer's favour if you consider the malware out there. Knowledge is everything. Arm yourself by educating yourself.
All the fud and whales taking profit, slowing down progress in crypto.no wonder new money is not coming into market .perfect opportunity to short the market. I don't need new money to come in to profit, I'll just take a chunk of what's already there . In my opinion this is very healthy. Lots of weak hands exited crypto lately. Serious investors and hodlers remain.
Agreed. I'm chomping at the bit to purchase more. Tomorrow's payday!!!
