Re: buy fast and sell fast

If in trading apply fast trading strategy,
What obstacles are constraints
and weaknesses?
Weakness - You need either automated methods or quick fingers
Obstacles - Finding an exchange that doesn't lag (good luck!)
Constraints - Small profit, more trades, high room for potentially lost gains if held (but this comes with the lower chance to lose big)

Re: New Ixcoin fork -> I0coin

When a supposed fix for the exploits being discussed are actually posted publicly so they can be vetted, I will update the fusebox fork of the i0coin chain.    But so far it's all talk until the source is openly posted.   Frankly since doubleC runs the largest i0coin exchange any submission would essentially need to be a-oked by him otherwise he will have no reason to turn the exchange back on as long as there no coinfidence in the algorithms that were placed in ix/i0 coin to lead to the forks...

Re: I0 Guild - I0Coin Pool from BTC Guild
by
fusebox
on 01/09/2011, 15:55:45 UTC
I gave warning on I0Guild.  24 hours of warning where you had full withdrawal capabilities, and even then the server stayed up for over 24 additional hours where I responded to withdrawal requests manually.  It took that much extra time just to give payouts enough confirms to reach the exchange before the network imploded.

I think the point of some of the complaints were the so called "24 hour notice" was extremely weakly worded and did not sufficiently notify miners that they needed to withdrawl immeidatly or else they would forfiet thier coins.. In fact the warning implied the site was simply being moved (at an indeterminent time) and the pool would continue to run... It wasn't until after it the site was taken down where any mention/sugestion that the pool was being solely to support withdrawls to exchanges.

Either way, sounds like the wallets backing the pool have probabaly been destroyed... And as pointed out previously all those coins should simply be presumed lost forever.  That is the nature of these projects, if anyone had any true value at stake, the code is open source and anyone could have fixed it sooner had they had the economic incentive to do so.

Did anyone noticed the i0coin forum is full of spam? I think that should have been fixed first.

http://forum.i0coin.org/index.php?board=2.0
Why? Every Bitcoin fork use this subforum and not their own forum anyway

SolidCoin has a clean Forum, no Spam and quite a few active Users:
http://solidcointalk.org/  Grin
And yet there are tons of solidcoin related posts other here, which was my point

Anyway, maybe i0coin needs to release a great huge awesome new release on sept 1st!
Why? Well dunno...
Solidcoin planned to release his new release on this day, and our beloved nasakioto thought that if he released his own shitty new version on the same day it will bring some glory to it
So... As I0coin is a ixcoin fork, why not?

I'm going to see if I can integrate the merged mining patch from namecoin into iocoin.. but that won't be till later this weekend, and it's have to be scheduled (and frankly voted on by the miners since it will require upgrades and a choice of a future block to go live)..

merged mining is the only thing that will save the alt chains...   IE, imagine if you could mine iocoin, namecoin, and bitcoin all simultaneously with the same hash strength.

Yes i also left a lot of coins there and now looking at the good price a couple of hours ago i intended to sell them only to find this in the google cached version of the page:
"I0 Guild is being taken offline after the 24 hours of warning was posted at 7:03 AM (PDT) on 8/22/11. The pool is still running to try to get payouts confirmed. The pool will turn off in a few hours once the last payout has enough confirms to reach the exchange.

I0 Guild may return at a later time, if the currency shows any signs of revival."

Warning?Couldnt you send an email at least to consider it warning?

Yeah, and the prior notice did mention the site would go down for relocation but didn’t tell people to stop mining and withdraw all their coins.... In fact it implied the pool and mining would continue...   Either way, the bug in the I0coin code hit later and made transactions impossible to perform so it was a moot point.

Of course it's up to the pool operator to decide whether or not spend the effort to turn it back on. Given that it seemed there weren't really into IO coin (other than as a ixcoin protest move)...  I'd just assume those earlier mined coins are gone unless we get word to the contrary.     Of course, if the IO coin exchange rate attracts a noticeable hashing rate and the other pools drop in strength that might lead them to reconsider.

Corrently not. But I'm planning to introduce several versions od AUTO.
Now I'm collecting users ideas like yours. Smiley
Are the stats on the individual accounts page delayed or in real time?   My workers show shares accepted but the site reports no work recieved... Are they all being rejected/stale?

^^
The windows client is working for me (except for the little graphical error on the buttons)
Once I finish re-downloading block info, and hopefully didn't lose anything Smiley I will send 400 i0c revival bounty to ArtForz (for he is the one published the final codes/binary)

Also I think the new i0coin relaunch deserves a new thread.

Just FYI, i was the one who published the new windows binaries.. but you are right ArtForz is the one who contributed the code.

Does the "AUTO" worker limit your choices to only the "currencies" you have recieving addresses set?  IE, can we exclude a currency if we are not interested in it and have auto pick the second best?

Ok, so difficulty is in the 700 range right now.  I don't know why I still haven't solved 1 block solo mining with 1 ghash.  Maybe something is not set right here...

I set my server to port 8333 and have my miners using that port, everything looks like it should be working, but haven't generated anything.

Do I have to use a different port for it to work right?

i0coin's rpcport listens on port 7332 by default.

Hopefully anyone looking for i0coin to come back to rescue thier i0coin balance or exchange out to bitcoin or solid coin (if a market shows up), would consider a tip of thier bitcoin proceeds.
I sent you some btc to the address in your sig as thanks for your work, nice job!
Hey thanks. Smiley

Still looking for a recomendation for a quick/trustworthy place to host these windows binaries.. Just let me know and I'll get it up.

I would like to setup a bounty for fixing i0coins:

200 i0coins for the one who fixes it!

Who wants to add some more? Quote and add your name to the list!

Bounty list:
MaGNeT - 200 i0coins
d.james - 400 i0coins

Total - 600 i0coins

Remember, we can only pay the bounty if the network is up again  Grin

Obviously your call on this.. but I want to be clear that ArtForz  should be considered for the bulk of bounty or a share as his code led to the changes.. I'm just the shlep who checked it in.

Hopefully anyone looking for i0coin to come back to rescue thier i0coin balance or exchange out to bitcoin or solid coin (if a market shows up), would consider a tip of thier bitcoin proceeds.
