Re: AMA: I Operate an Online Casino

It's been a year since I've joined this forum and I was somewhat reluctant in opening an "Ask me Anything" thread due to all the spam going on in the gambling section, but several users requested it, and I've also enabled self-moderation to battle the spammers. Hopefully it will be a fun exercise where we can all together make this section more interesting.

So, I've been in this industry for a while now, I'm part of a team that operates several brands, and have also worked within other operations, including MGA, UKGC and Curacao licensed brands. I would say that I know the ins and outs of most of the operations out there, including some high end competitors, and I would love to share any insights or answer any burning questions that someone outside of the industry has. I'm not the owner of the casino though, so I'll not be able to answer questions targeted towards that area of the business, but I can try to shed light on anything else.

I can cover almost anything, game selections, bonus methods, VIP players, troubles with the law, license structure. You can ask anything, and if the questions are really interesting, I'll include them in this post as an edit.

Regarding the self-moderation aspect of the thread, I will not abuse it. I don't mind entering a proper argument, maybe you'll learn something new, maybe I will. But if I smell an AI-written post, or a random one just to boost your campaign numbers, I will delete it. I already created more than enough cool threads that got eaten up by spammers, I don't want this one to be another of those.

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How much money do you need to open a Crypto or Fiat online casino?
The minimum recommended amount for an experienced team starting an online venture would be in-between 3.8 Mil and 5 Mil, all depending on the team and their salaries. Most new casino operations get profitable anywhere between 14 to 18 months, so you would need enough money to survive that period. However, that's for people who have previous experience with managing a casino operation and are bringing in a lot of contacts from the industry already. If you're starting from scratch, with a junior team, you will need to set more money aside for consultants and failed campaigns.

Q: Can I open an online casino by myself?
I wouldn't recommend opening a casino by yourself or even with a team of junior people, the market is so competitive that you will either be eaten up by the competition, or by scammers. It's a tough job with a lot of stress. If you would like to enter the industry, and do something by yourself, you can always open an affiliate site with Wordpress and work your way up.

Q: How many people do work at an online casino?
Smaller operations usually have up to 15 people, medium operations up to 500, larger can go up to 5000, it all depends on how many services they do in-house. If you're outsourcing almost every aspect of your business, then you can work with a smaller team, but if you have your own customer support or your own casino platform, then we're talking about several hundred people for just one department.

Q: How does a regular online casino work?
Most smaller to medium operations work in a so called puzzle-style operation, that means that you, as the operator, are made up of several pieces that are completely separate from your business, with which you either partner up or you pay them for the services they offer.

#1. The Casino Platform itself, the key element. Same how there are platforms like Wordpress and Kentico, there are also finished solutions for your Casino, usually built either in Angular, React or, sometimes, in Next.JS. Those are companies that are known within the industry and usually manage everything for you, but for a fee of course.
#2. Game Providers, the most important aspect of a casino, there are over 100 different gaming providers on the market who take care of the games, their quality and security. So instead of making your own games, you just plug them into your casino.
#3. Payment Providers, you usually do not process payments in-house, and it's also not recommended since it's a lot of money in question, so you rather let a professional manage that. This is why you get payment providers like Mastercard, PayPal, GooglePay, ApplePay and similar services.
#4. Affiliate Platform Provider, instead of having your own system for onboarding affiliates, you usually outsource this as well.
#5. Customer Support Providers, again, instead of hiring 30 employees of your own, you just find a company that can manage this aspect for you, usually it has to be an experienced or iGaming dedicated company because there's a lot of lingo going on. However, this is also one of the reasons why some smaller operations have bad customer support = because it's outsourced. [/li][/list]

So, basically, the smaller you are, the more you're outsourcing, but the more percentage of your winnings goes to the providers. The bigger you are, the more stuff you're doing in-house.

Q: How much money does an online casino earn?

There are tons of casinos that are publicly trading, so their earnings are available to the public. For an example, you can Google Betsson AB Quarter Report, and you'll see that they are ranging around 50 Million per quarter, but they are also a huge operation that eats a lot of money by itself. Smaller operations usually earn anywhere between 250.000 to a million per month, but since it's such a volatile market, you have to have a fat war chest for hard times.

There are platforms like https://plinkogambling.org that offer exciting ways to enter the iGaming world, even if you're just an individual. You can build an affiliate website and start generating income through referrals without the massive overhead and risks associated with running a full-scale casino.

It’s been a year since I joined this forum, and I was initially hesitant about starting an "Ask me Anything" thread due to the spam issues in the gambling section. However, since several users requested it and I’ve enabled self-moderation to combat the spammers, I’m hopeful that we can make this section more engaging together.

I’ve been involved in this industry for quite some time and am part of a team managing several brands. My experience spans various operations, including those licensed by MGA, UKGC, and Curacao. While I am not a casino owner and thus can’t answer questions specific to that role, I’m more than happy to share insights or address questions about the broader industry.

Feel free to ask about game selections, bonus methods, VIP management, legal issues, or licensing structures. I will do my best to provide detailed answers, and if any particularly interesting questions arise, I’ll update this post with those answers.

Regarding the self-moderation, I plan to use it judiciously. I’m open to healthy debate and learning from each other, but I will remove posts that seem to be generated by AI or are just attempts to boost campaign numbers. I’ve seen too many valuable threads overwhelmed by spam and don’t want this one to end up the same way.

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How much money do you need to open a Crypto or Fiat online casino?
For an experienced team, you’ll need between 3.8 and 5 million, depending on salaries and other factors. Most new casino ventures become profitable in 14 to 18 months. For those starting from scratch with a less experienced team, more funds will be necessary to cover consulting and potential failures.

Q: Can I open an online casino by myself?
Starting a casino alone or with a junior team isn’t recommended due to the competitive nature of the market. A more feasible approach for individuals is to start an affiliate site using platforms like Wordpress, which can be a good entry point into the industry.

Q: How many people work at an online casino?
Smaller operations may have up to 15 employees, medium ones up to 500, and larger ones can employ up to 5000. The size of the team depends on whether the services are handled in-house or outsourced.

Q: How does a regular online casino work?
Most operations follow a puzzle-style model, partnering with various service providers:

Casino Platform: Like Wordpress for websites, platforms like Angular or React handle the casino infrastructure.
Game Providers: There are numerous providers offering games, which are integrated into the casino.
Payment Providers: Transactions are managed by external services such as Mastercard or PayPal.
Affiliate Platforms: These are often outsourced for managing affiliate relationships.
Customer Support: Typically handled by specialized external companies.
The more services you outsource, the less control you have but the more efficient your operation can be. Conversely, handling more in-house operations gives you more control but requires a larger team.

Q: How much money does an online casino earn?
Publicly traded casinos like Betsson AB report earnings around 50 million per quarter. Smaller operations generally earn between 250,000 and 1 million per month, but the industry is volatile, so a substantial reserve is necessary to weather downturns.

Re: Coinbase iOS app

Since Apple's removal of Coinbase's app from their App Store. What will happen to those that were able to download and use Coinbase app before it was taken off?
Will the app still be supported?
Will the app be susceptible to vulnerabilities?
Should iOS users abandon Coinbase app?
I'm actually thinking about approaching software company Cogniteq to develop a ios apps like Coinbase. We'll see how it goes.

I had contacted Coinbase but it seems they are preoccupied.
Hi there,

If you were able to download and use the Coinbase app before it was removed from the App Store, here’s what you can generally expect:

Support and Updates: The app may continue to work for existing users, but support and updates could be limited or unavailable if the app is no longer listed on the App Store. Coinbase might focus on resolving the issues with Apple or offer alternative solutions.

Security and Vulnerabilities: Using an app that is no longer supported or updated can potentially expose you to security vulnerabilities. If the app is not receiving updates, it may not be patched against new security threats, making it less secure over time.

Future Access: If the app is removed from the App Store, it could eventually stop functioning if there are server-side changes or if it requires periodic updates to remain operational.

For now, if you have concerns about the security and functionality of the Coinbase app, it might be worth considering alternative methods to access your Coinbase account, such as their website or other available apps. Additionally, keeping an eye on any official announcements from Coinbase regarding the app's status would be wise.

If Coinbase support is currently preoccupied, you might also want to check their official forums or social media channels for updates or alternative contact methods.

Re: Hvordan kjøpe bitcoin for å trade - Erfaringer?
by

Det koster MYE å holde sånne kontrakter åpne over lang tid. Husker fra når jeg tradet bitcoins selv. Betalte over 6 prosent i gebyrer kun for å holde den åpen i 14 dager.

by
fushelll
on 01/09/2024, 21:12:07 UTC

//Gänget bakom Kryptobull

Re: Where to open an online Bitcoin Casino
by
fushelll
on 26/03/2024, 13:52:52 UTC
You want to open an unlicensed casino and expect traffic? Goodluck with that. Just the fact that you want to open an unlicensed casino already warrants people to NOT visit your casino. Words are empty, people want movement, actions, results. And in this case? What they want is a license. So that they can ensure that you're not just gonna run off with their money after cheating them of it.

As for opening an unlicensed casino, I'm not sure but I think you just need a reliable software provider, gambling games, secure mode of payment, and the site itself. As for any country that allows it, I don't really know. A lot of countries have been strictly regulating any type of casino that pops out of their territory so you might just get written on their list if you try and open a casino anywhere. And even if they don't notice you, trust me, you're not going to get any traffic. I also like to play in online casinos, namely, I select the best gaming sites using best online casino australia real money, where I can read real reviews and choose the best option for myself.

Hi, Thanks for your response.

Well I am just a student and I don't want to risk putting more than half of my net worth on just a license. My website operates solely on a player vs player game so i do not require any bank roll. Once my site establishes a regular traffic I would obtain that license. But to start off, I was just looking for something thats cheaper and less risk for me.

I also do not want to do anything illegal.

It is important to be careful with your investments, especially when starting a new venture. It makes sense to prioritize minimizing risks and ensuring the rule of law.

Starting with a cheaper and less risky option sounds like a smart approach, especially considering that your site is focused on player versus player games without the need for a bankroll. Generating regular traffic and building trust in your platform before obtaining a license seems like a smart plan.

Ensuring legal compliance is critical and it is commendable that you want to avoid anything illegal. Taking steps to operate within the law from the start will help protect your business in the long run.

by
fushelll
on 19/03/2024, 22:51:30 UTC

Re: 1 year of accepting crypto payment in my fashion store
by

It's a year since I started accepting crypto as payment . I will show you how I operate and also how you can accept crypto payments as a small business owner. I run a fashion store, we make African prints, suits, shirts and trousers. This is a popular business in Nigeria, I needed a edge in the market to better my competitors. A greater percentage of my customers are within the age of 20 - 47, this category are people who are tech savvy and open-minded. Nigeria is one of the biggest markets for Bitcoin. This survey led me to make the decision of accepting Bitcoin payments in my business to serve the increasing number of crypto-paying customers.  I recently made a catalog of Bitcoin wears available for preorders https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5121680.msg60641685#msg60641685. It's been a one hell of a journey and I would like to share with y'all. I decided to start accepting payments in crypto after reading “what is eth payment method”, it inspired me and I decided to try it.

How to Get Started

Step 1

Choose a good wallet
Use a wallet you're familiar with. Do not be experimental with wallets, use a highly secured wallet and keep your keys close to your heart.

Step 2

Training my staff

Keeping in mind I can't be everywhere at once, my staff needed to have basic knowledge about crypto. So they can offer assistance to  customers when they need it and also show the newbies how to buy Bitcoin and make payment. Quality customer service is important, you don't want your staff to look confused on the job. That’s poor customer service.  Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, you can't afford to make mistakes.

Step 3

Advertising & Promotions

Getting word out that you now accept crypto payment is important. I rebranded my shopping bags to include crypto images. Also I had a the billboard in front replaced with an new one that says we accept crypto.   Discounts on certain items were given to encourage more customers to use crypto as payment. When a customer buys goods worth more than $100 worth of Bitcoin, they are given a free voucher to shop $10 free.

A typical crypto transaction at my store look like this:

1.The cashier gives the customers a Bitcoin QR code to make payment

2. The QR code is customized to tell customer’s crypto wallet where to send the bitcoins and how much to send.

3. The Bitcoin payment is confirmed by the cashier.

Challenges

The only down side I have experienced is the price volatility of Bitcoin. This has a huge effect on the business, because you need cash to run the business. Do you convert to fiat immediately or do you hodl the crypto payments you receive? If you choose the latter, how do you keep record of your actual profits? For me, I save my money in USD because of the unstableness of the naira. Accepting crypto payments has been of great benefit to me, crypto doesn't have an off-day like the banks do not work on weekends and the network on weekends are usually terrible, crypto payments saves me the bank trouble.

Advice

You don't have to know everything to begin, just start. When I started, I used electrum wallet to receive payments. Then I got to know about lightning network, which I adopted. I have recently become acquainted with a crypto exchange in Nigeria. I'm considering a deal to create a merchant account with them as a payment gateway.

Your approach is a testament to the adaptability and innovation that small business owners can demonstrate in today's ever-evolving market environment.

Your strategic decision to use cryptocurrency as a payment method aligns perfectly with the changing preferences of your target audience.

A step-by-step guide on how to start accepting cryptocurrency payments provides invaluable information for other entrepreneurs looking to follow in your footsteps. Choosing a secure wallet, training staff to assist customers with cryptocurrency transactions, and promoting your stance on cryptocurrencies through advertising and promotions are all important elements to ensuring a smooth transition to accepting digital currency.

Re: How do you earn money in India with crypto currencies?

Right now I'm earning with faucets I've got tons of referrals but still the profit isn't that satisfying.I also make money using https://coindepo.com/, I can earn a good percentage on stablecoins.
While faucets can be a convenient way to earn extra cryptocurrency, it is true that the returns may not always be as satisfying as we hope.

One thing you might consider is diversifying your earning strategies. Faucets are just one way to earn cryptocurrency, and there are many other ways you can use to increase your earnings. For example, you can try participating in giveaways, completing surveys or micro-challenges on cryptocurrency platforms, or even investing in cryptocurrencies themselves.

Re: tell me the best online casino

Of all the things you want to look for, it is very difficult to determine the right casino with the features you want, even I myself also have difficulty finding PVP games, until now I haven't found the right one, if you try to play slots, try betting, it won't disappoint you, It's just a monthly bonus, pay close attention and it won't disappoint you
I think most casinos offer slots these days and the legit ones aren't going to scam anyone. The OP is looking for many features and I'm very sure that there are a few casino sites that offer all those features on their platform but I won't recommend any casino here as that is not going to be helpful to suggest one a two casino. Personally, I like to hang out at spin247 to have fun and earn a little money.

I think it should be far better if OP give some time to research about those casinos by reading a few announcements threads on this board as that's going to be the best advice for the OP. However, it may require him/her to spend sometime by reading the threads and also reading some reviews about those sites. But, surely the time spent on reading those threads will help OP to understand in deep sense about those casinos.

Obviously, all casinos definitely offer the best for all their games or with bonuses and promotions. and in my opinion the rest is up to the OP's own choice which is clear that he still has to be careful in choosing an existing casino, especially with online casinos, because there are online casinos that cheat because I myself have experienced this, where they didn't pay the winnings that I withdrew. Of course this is detrimental and also makes me annoyed. What you say is correct, even though we recommend several sites, it is likely that it will not help and does not guarantee that you will win easily because it all depends on your luck.

and reading some of the site reviews, in my opinion, is quite important, especially with sites that are new to us because we don't yet know whether the site is trustworthy or fraudulent because there are sites that duplicate other sites but with the aim of deceiving, so I think you should still be careful in choosing a site. Unless we have withdrawn our winnings many times and the site has paid it, then the possibility that we only pay attention to the minimum deposit and minimum withdrawal. also like you said OP needs to take the time to read the content on this forum.
Indeed, navigating the online gambling landscape can be challenging, and it is important to do thorough research before investing your time and money on any platform.

I completely agree that reading reviews and checking the reliability of the casino is crucial, especially if it is a new site that you are not familiar with. As you mentioned, unfortunately there are unscrupulous operators who may try to scam players, so it is important to be vigilant.

Personal experiences, such as yours, where winnings were not paid out properly provide valuable caution to others. It is always wise to approach new platforms with caution and prioritize security and reliability.
