Is there a reason to keep masternode ALQO(with 1 alqo reward), or better stack mode?

The 1 alqo block reward is just temporary, to allow time for people to update without losing out on rewards.

I sure would like to see some new development with this coin.  I had high hopes for it when it came out, followed it for a while, got away from it, checked back in, and it looks the same as it ever was...

If you have some specific ideas or suggestions you could go over to the gitter: https://gitter.im/BlackCoin_Hub

Janko33bd and Vinceblk are both almost always available there.

This bitcointalk thread is fairly ignored.

I went there and it's very active, but I'm not a member and don't feel like joining yet another online doodad that I'm going to forget my password for, but I do have a suggestion that can be passed along if somebody thinks it's worth it.  Any bounty for my brilliant scheme would be appreciated...  Cheesy

A long time ago there was an internet service provider called Juno, and you could get free internet if you allowed them to use your dormant, online computer to perform complex mathematical computations, and Juno would find buyers that needed this service, presumably make money, and for letting them use your computer you got free internet.  The cumulative power of thousands of computers hooked together made a sort of supercomputer, according to Juno.  I've long thought that a proof-of-stake wallet could provide this same kind of functionality and reward the wallet holder with a higher stake payout.  I have absolutely no technical ability to make this happen, but always thought it would be a great option for crypto coins.

Just so you know, gitter uses github and twitter accounts, don't have to sign up for anything if you have either of those.

Hi!

How many coins do you need for POS-mining?
And where it is better to buy them?

I believe the minimum is 1 blk for staking, the rewards are proportional, it works out to about 5% interest with the current 1% inflation.

Bittrex and Poloniex are the biggest exchanges at the moment.

Is there still a developement of this Coin? I didn´t heard anything about Blackcoin since a long time. Is the Dev still active? Are he working on something new?

Updates are usually posted on the blackcoin twitter, so you can scroll through that if you want a general idea of development activity:

https://twitter.com/CoinBlack

Might also be worth joining the gitter, it's getting quite active (the Slack hit max user capacity so we had to move):

Can someone confirm me if the POS hashing algo of BLK is SHA256 or Scrypt? thank you in advance, i am quite sure BLK price will give us good news next year, team is doing an excellent work.

I believe it was Scrypt during the mining phase, but is currently SHA256d. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyone know a legit blackcoin pool ?

Blackcoin switched to proof of stake a long time ago. There is no pool where you can mine Blackcoin.

For helping securing the network you can hold blk in your wallet and stake your coins. As reward you shall receive blk.

There are a couple of multipools which payout in blackcoin though, if you want to automatically mine whatever happens to be profitable at the moment.

How many coins in the BLK system?
If this unlimited coin, then what's the point of investing?

Because staking rewards are distributed proportionally to stakers, and not all coins are being used to stake, it works out to roughly 1% inflation and 5% interest at the moment. That means if you were to stake for a year, and the marketcap stayed the same, you would make roughly 4% in fiat value.

It seems a lot more compelling to me than 0% inflation in this particular case.

Hello everyone, does anyone know the Android wallet " payblk " .
Is it safe to use?
And what's the most popular wallet to use?
Thanks

Yeah, Payblk is safe to use. I'm not sure which android wallet is most popular. The Coinomi wallet app is another option.

This thread isnt the main hub of activity I believe, you may want to ask for an invite to the slack forum where there is multiple threads kept on questions, answers and all that.

Unless you have amazing ideas to advance or contribute, its not especially productive for a dev to take too much time to trouble himself over keeping the hoi polloi happy

If i stake 1000 BlackCoin in my wallet, how much will i get approximately per day / per month?

It's around 5-6% interest currently, so around 50-60 blk per year. Just keep in mind that the inflation rate of the network is under 1%, so as long as you're staking your total percentage holding of the network is going up (i.e. if you hold 1% of the network and stake for a year you would have around 1.04% of the network). PoS 2.0+ coins will be extremely competitive versus a 0% inflation rate in the long run.

Thank u guys for your comments, I will move my coins to my wallet and start to stake. I have 3038 BLK do u think staking is profitable for me? Sorry for asking too many questions I'm very new to this thing.

It will be profitable !!
Leaving the wallet "open and unlocked" you should see (on average) 1.5 BLK each day, but don't panic if you don't see anything for 3-4 days in a row. The law of averages does catch up, and it is cool to see 2-3 rewards in quick succession.

You mean free 1.5 blackcoins everyday in my wallet if I open and unlock the wallet?

I think it would be closer to 0.5blk per day (one block per three days), or about 200blk per year (roughly 6% APR). But yeah, to stake just leave your wallet running and unlocked. You can unlock it for 'staking only' with a tick-box when unlocking if you want.

OK great. I installed my wallet and now Its synchronizing with network.  Once It is done I will leave it unlock.
Just one question! though I dont have any blackcoins in my wallet, Do I need to move my blackcoins from bittrex to this wallet for start receiving free blackcoins or a wallet with zero balance and unlocked will also receive the free blackcoin?

If i needs to move blackcoins for start receiving the free BLK in the wallet then what is the minimum limit of BLK to have in the wallet for receiving the free coins?
Thank you for your answer.

You'll need to move coins into your staking wallet. There's no minimum, but what you'll receive is proportional to how many coins you have. Currently with 3000blk you'll receive roughly 0.5blk per day on average (one block every three days on average), with 9000 blk you'd get roughly 1.5blk on average per day, ect.

Gritt and Janko are over in China at the moment doing various meetings too.

I am extremely interested to see the outcome of this.
Any ideas on a timeline or itinerary ? When might they be expected to return with news ?

With the current sentiment in China about ICO's, there could be a big shake-up coming.

Yeah, being one of the few non-ICO coins trading in China could end up being really interesting, if Chinese exchanges have to remove ICO related projects this will be one of the few coins left standing.

Thx

Hop on slack, that's where all the information is. The 0.15.0 codebase update is coming out next month, it's being rewritten in Javascript.

There's also work being done on an updated web design.

Ok so I received my first "mining bonus," and it moved the coins into the "staked" part of the wallet. Now my "weight" went down to the 400 coins I just moved, and it says it will be 2 weeks until another bonus. What about the 40k I have in the staked portion? They don't count anymore?

It takes 8 hours to mature after coins have been moved, also after staking a portion of coins (as well as the newly created 1.5 blk) will be immature for 8 hours before those coins will begin staking again.

With 40,000 blk you should stake around 4-5 times per day at the moment, on average.

Is there only client staking possible or are there also masternodes? If so, how much coins are needed for a masternode? If not, what is the daily return for staking?

Blackcoin maybe needn't something like masternodes.  It's running on Proof of Stake static reward.

what does that mean exactely? for example: i hold 1000 coins in the blackcoin wallet. how much reward will i get a day?

does it have to be online all the time or is it like claming gas in NEO ?

It does have to be online all the time. You get around 6% compound interest per year at the moment, inflation is only 1% per year though.
