I've made it a point to take a good look at ALL of the large miners I've recently purchased. All 4 of the 60ghs Avalons I received in 10/2013 had loose screws on the hashing modules. ALL of the Antminers S1's I've received over the last few months have all had loose screws on the hashing modules. I wouldnt be surprised if something came loose in shipping on these CT's. You might want to check that out.

1100w, 34MH, 95 gridseeds with two PCs controlling everything.

2 PC's huh? You dont have 95 instances of cpuminer open do you? I'd be curious to know what software your using to mine.

Impressive setup BTW. Really like the low power footprint.

I've wondered why those KNC miners didnt use some sort of liquid cooling apparatus. Especially with all the cheap all-in-one CPU coolers there are out right now.

Thats pretty slick.

I'm Soooooooooo jealous of the first poster and the other posters who started around the same time.

OMG he started out back in 2011, he must have thousands of freaking BitCoins by now!!

Sooo jelly!!!

 Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

I know a guy in Colorado that started early but he dumped when the coins were hitting close to $100.00. He's like the rest of us now. Well under 100 and in most cases under 10. Sad

I started in 8/2011 with two modest GPU's (6850's I think). One took a crap a year into it and sat on a BSOD for over a year but I didn't know it. I still did OK though. I found a local fellow miner and he's been showing me the ropes so I'm better equipped to deal with the new trends.

I just want to point out that those ALL-IN-ONE Liquid COOLING is not advisable... especially for an expensive chips like those...

Do a little research... and you will know why...

Are you talking about PC, or knc miners?

I was wondering the same thing. Probably KNC as the VR's need cooling too. Not that the air solution is doing much for them but I guess some is better then nothing.

LOL! I BIN'd 5 of those IBM supplies without looking closely at them!  Grin

Didn't realize they were 200-240VAC until after I started reading this thread (and here I am in the US). Dont really feel like running a 220VAC line over to the miners so I guess I wont be suing these things unless theres an internal switch to change them to 120VAC.

Oops.... 1800watts at that price is hard to beat though.

Not a very good picture, but here's one of my Bitfury rigs that I'm tuning / troubleshooting. Waiting for a couple cases from Spotswood to arrive next week before putting them into permanent homes.

Have this one running more-or-less stable at 531 GHs ATM but troubleshooting and tuning continues through the weekend.

(Out of sight, two more fans blowing on the unit)

Big thanks to Buzzdave and Yvonne from MegaBigPower for being super folk to deal with.

Very cool. I've been trying to find some of those boards. How long have you had them?

I managed to underclock my autotune 13TH S9 by first upgrading the firmware to the 550MHz fixed frequency firmware.

Thereafter ssh into the miner. edit /config/bmminer.conf and change
Code:
"bitmain-freq" : "475",

Also one can change the directions of both the fans and the miner should reduce fan speed. Do not change the directions before underclocking though, as the miner will overheat.

I tried that on mine and both would go back to auto tuning the frequencies.

Did you successfully install the fixed frequency firmware first? One way to check is if your Miner Configuration page allows selection of "Search Frequency From" 550MHz.

Is that fixed frequency firmware new? As in within the last 2 months? I tried to make that change on the factory firmware (something from March 2017) and the august firmware.

So, it cannot be done, even now?

Downclock it abit would be nice

Not as far as I know.

I got tired of the noise and sold the damn things.

I see. Another option would be to try soundproof the room but it cost quite abit.

Yeah, for me that was going to be too much trouble to make it worth while.

5 of them are 3 gig cards and 1 is a 6 gig card.

3 of them are these cards (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137037&Tpk=14-137-037) asking $175 each plus shipping. Only have 2 boxes for these, the third will be packaged carefully.

2 of them are these cards (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA73M4TS5440&cm_re=geforce_gtx_1060_gaming_x_3g-_-9SIA73M4TS5440-_-Product) asking $250 each plus shipping. Do not have the boxes for these cards.

1 of them is this card (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814126122&cm_re=dual_gtx1060_O6G-_-14-126-122-_-Product) asking $250 plus shipping. I have the box for this card.

All cards were used for about 4 months in an air conditioned office environment. I also underclocked the cards which kept them at 60c or below.

I know it goes against the grain here but PayPal only. I think I'm done with Crypto for the time being and since Coinbase hijacked my account I cant trade for FIAT.... Sad Will only sell to CONUS!

I've also got a 5 card 1060GTX 3gig rig on an open air tech station setup that I will probably be listing soon. It will come ready to assemble with ETHOS loaded on its hard drive.

Riddle me this batman   Huh

Why/how would moving an S9 from one pool to another make the stupid fans run faster? Is it possible that the miner works harder on a non Antpool connection?

I dont want to say these things are whisper quiet now but the sound difference is very noticeable between when I'm connected to Antpool and when I'm not. As in, Antpool is quieter.  Shocked
