what are you guys running your sticks on? laptop raspberry etc??

Had mine running on a old server (HP X510 Datavault) but treated myself to a new PC / server build.

I want to use the PC power (Evga 1200P2) to supply the Anker hub so just ordered molex extension leads ( Not sure whats the best connection from the PSU Current wise? ) and will sort this out soon.

In the mean time I had a play with external box & fan controller.

(sorry about the Quality & Orientation)

I might stick with this option as I like the looks on the desk but I will get rid of the internal supply, use the server /pc supply, add amp meter and 5v meter, loose the hub and build the connections into the lid (somehow).

If anyone could explain how to get photos showing here and not just a link offsite I would be greatful, Cheer's

Hi
I just oc one of mine to 400mhz on bfgminer running on an old whs v1 HP Datavault x510 its hovering around 24gh/s with a temp of 55 degree's C ( not sure what temps are safe?)
I have took a couple of photos but is there an easy way to post them using the forum as I had a mare the last time with bucket!

getting back to yours I hope shes still working after what happened?
this is the first time I have had a miner and these sticks are great to learn with.

I would love to use CGminer on the server but I cant get it to work ( not very good with software ) but at least I got it to work with BFGminer

After I have a working board with favorable test results. I've been tied up with manufacturing Compacs and PSU boards the last two weeks so I've only just started on the pod prototype. Today I hope to finish up the pick-and-place program and get most of a board assembled. Firmware will have to wait until after the holiday but I have enough tools to manually test hashing and power. If that's good, and Novak can get some base-functionality firmware and cgminer driver proven, then we'll start taking in orders.

Hi
I am not sure this is in the right topic but could someone tell me if I have set these miners up correctly with bfgminer. I been playing around with them for a couple of days now and think I am on the right track.
The photo of the miners are not connected to the laptop they are connected to an old HP server ( Datavault X510 running WHS v1 (2003) ). I spent ages trying to get cgminer to work on the server but couldn't
I think it was MS OS lack of USB support but not sure., anyway I got bfgminer working so will learn with this software.

Also if I have put the image link in wrong please tell me how to do it right or explain if there is an easier way to list images here.

I am pretty sure using the (c) clock function in bfgminer I have set the Compac's to 300?
They are running a Temperature of 40c to 45c each is that about what to expect?
The USB Hub is the Anker 60w 5a one that after reading I thought I was going to have a few issues with ( which I did ) but managed to get them working, don't ask me how.

I would like to know if there is a way to isolate one or two of the miners while on the same system to mine at a different address at the same time?

Any help on maybe fine tuning the miners or getting the most from this combo would be great.

P.s I will not be mining for profit ( obviously ) this is just for me to learn & experiment with.

Hello and welcome to the world of Bitcoin. Glad that you decide to start mining Bitcoin. I am not an expert in the mining field but my advice would be not to mine on your laptop. You will be paying more electricity than what you mined. If you are a Raspberry Pi fan, you might also like the new 21 Bitcoin computer. It allow you to mine Bitcoin but I would not suggest you to mine on it. I would suggest you to buy some hardware created specifically for mining Bitcoin. Anyway, what is "4x Compacts"?

Also. Beware of online cloud mining services. Those are not a good idea.

" Anyway, what is "4x Compacts " sorry my mistake should have been 4x Gekko Compac's.

Thanks for the info

I came across the forum by accident and wanted to try some mining (Newbie), read a lot of threads on here to get familiarized with the basics and decided to buy 4x Gekko Compac's. I got them today and am having a great time trying to get them setup. I have three of them working but only on my win 8.1 Laptop with cgminer - gekko  version. I have a Rpi and just cant figure this one out yet but I will eventually.

Anyway, better get back to it - lots of learning / reading needed.
