Re: Countries where BTC can be bought cheaper than at crypto-exchanges

P2P are usually more expensive, you need to consider demand is higher than offer, if it is banned it means less liquidity meaning offer even lower than normal so higher spreads. The higher the liquidity and lower spreads, more offer than you get it cheaper.

I think there is some people indicating the acceptance of altcoins on localbitcoin but it is not highly integrated into the system. Anyway it would be a very good blockchain project to have this for the community !

They will always be an altcoin, miners have an incentive but it halves periodically and altcoin competition for miners will settle the market on PoW based currencies

Re: How do airdrops work?
by
geac.xraekhurcoe
on 30/10/2017, 16:41:02 UTC
They will give you not ETH but their own Coin/Token/Currency in a way proportional to how many ETH you have on your ETH address, so they need your address to check your balance. But Airdrops are not tiered with ETH or Bitcoin, it could happen with any crypto currency/token/coin !!

I would say 1 Satoshi, the 100 million part of a full Bitcoin would value one dollar by the end of the mining period. Soon Bitcoin will be rated in Satoshi because of it's huge valuation !

Re: Countries developing their own Cryptos
by
geac.xraekhurcoe

The problem with Gov coins is that it can only work with some sort of centralization, and that is the opposite feature of crypto currency where it is by design decentralized. But a digital currency would enable Govs to bring in some features of crypto to the fiat system and this way somehow discourage use of not recognized crypto currencies.

Re: what is bubble?
by
geac.xraekhurcoe
on 26/10/2017, 11:06:44 UTC
You can view Bubble as the 5 wave of the Elliot wave principle, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliott_wave_principle , when the market is about to reverse and start the dump period:

Quote
Wave 5: Wave five is the final leg in the direction of the dominant trend. The news is almost universally positive and everyone is bullish. Unfortunately, this is when many average investors finally buy in, right before the top. Volume is often lower in wave five than in wave three, and many momentum indicators start to show divergences (prices reach a new high but the indicators do not reach a new peak). At the end of a major bull market, bears may very well be ridiculed (recall how forecasts for a top in the stock market during 2000 were received).

But Bitcoin is just on it's infancy on Wave 1:

Quote
Wave 1: Wave one is rarely obvious at its inception. When the first wave of a new bull market begins, the fundamental news is almost universally negative. The previous trend is considered still strongly in force. Fundamental analysts continue to revise their earnings estimates lower; the economy probably does not look strong. Sentiment surveys are decidedly bearish, put options are in vogue, and implied volatility in the options market is high. Volume might increase a bit as prices rise, but not by enough to alert many technical analysts.

But some would disagree with this view because Bitcoin has limited supply and anti-inflationary properties but in the end if supply is limited demand is unknown so Elliot waves principle could be applied !

Re: Should I Wait or Invest On Bitcoin?
by

The volatility of the past has minor representation on the future where appreciation is expected so the only wise option you are free to take on a HODL strategy is to buy immediately and keep buying, nothing more ! Best wishes !!

Re: Can Interest Rate Rise Affect the Price of Bitcoin?
by
geac.xraekhurcoe
on 25/10/2017, 23:39:35 UTC
Money always flow to where Interest Rate is lower so a Rise will move money away from fiat into bitcoin and makes it more valuable. But for regular market in fiat there is a drop in liquidity and decrease in valuation making it flow again to better options like foreign markets and crypto exchanges

Re: Why do we keep converting bitcoin back to dollars ?
by
geac.xraekhurcoe
on 25/10/2017, 23:24:04 UTC
Because of uncertainty, volatility, risks bitcoin keep flowing in and out but since it is valuating more than depreciating the money flowing in is way more than out, at the same time that if nobody was selling bitcoin it's value would sky rocket by lack of liquidity and huge spreads. So yes, people sell bitcoins because there is some source of influence making people do it, it may be emotionally or backed by some reasoning and this is why markets are always bull or bear, pump or dump !

Re: Bitcoin Are Now Used in Crimes
by
geac.xraekhurcoe
on 25/10/2017, 17:30:11 UTC
You can use almost any tool for criminal purposes. What if we ban knifes from being produced because someone can use it to kill people, what about the majority of people that use and needs knifes just to prepare his meal ? Some consensus must be reached and that consensus is that majority cannot pay for the minority doing bad !

Re: Any experienced traders here? what're the best tips you can give to newbies?
by
geac.xraekhurcoe
on 11/10/2017, 20:44:24 UTC
Newbies needs a lot of simulation to gain experience without losing all his precious money, look for platforms where you can trade with "fictional" money to gain some experience and trade for real with very very very low values. For bigger values don't trade, just buy some "Blue chip" like Bitcoin and HODL it like forever. If you are not going to be a professional trader, don't trade just HODL!

Keep in mind that 99.9999% of very very experience traders lose completely all his money at stake, and almost all trading firms has closed or are closing, so a Newbie will be really challenged to the maximum.

Re: New Era or just bubble ?
by
geac.xraekhurcoe
on 11/10/2017, 20:26:17 UTC
Every system has his "Era" and them the bubble burst and a new "Era" comes with new players, so Yes, you have both, but currently the bubble bursting is the old IPO, and the bank system and the one just at start is the Crypto system and blockchains.
