just curious, do you know how long these contracts are for?

AFAIK, forever. They deduct "maintenance fees" from your daily payouts to cover the hardware cost, electricity, repairs, etc. A 1MH hashlet costs you $0.08/day in maintenance fees, a 5GH Hashlet Genesis costs you $0.01/day in maintenance fees. They say that your payouts will always be more than the fee no matter what hashlet you have. We'll see. Wink

Re: Tech speculation....emergent AI

So what the chance we may seem some sort of emergent AI come out of block chain and the ability to execute programs on chains....btc/nxt/etherium.

Nothing is impossible, however, I think the chances are as close to zero as you can get without actually being zero. But for all we know, Satoshi is an AI and Bitcoin was it's first creation. Wink

Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin High Performance

You can actually see that happening before in my charts:
http://xpm.muuttuja.org/charts/

If you look closely enough, the network block rate seems to have dropped when we went from 8.996 to 9.0. Of course we were using an older version of the mining algorithm back then which probably behaved slightly different.

OpenDNS has blocked xpm.muuttuja.org due to a security threat that was discovered by the Umbrella Labs.

If you think this shouldn't be blocked, please email us at security-block@opendns.com.

I'm only running about 5K pps total split between 3 local machines and since about 8 hours ago when I installed the HP2 clients, I've already mined 28.98 XPM. Could be worse, because it's been 4 days of non-stop mining with the original client since I received anything.

I would exchange your ripples for bitcoins any time

I'm thinking that I should hold onto them for as long as I can, just in case, but out of curiosity, how much are they going for these days? =)

Hi. I'm geeknik. I'm new to this site, but not new to alternative currencies. I mine BTC and LTC as a hobby. Power in Oklahoma is cheap (0.05kWh right now) so if I make a few bucks here and there, great. Wink

Here is a little bit about me. I am: A former police officer. A free thinker. A gun owner. A patriot. A prepper. A geek. A gamer. An Android kernel hacker. A security researcher (Also a member of Google's Security Hall of Fame). A Chrome fan (Browser + OS). A Firefox contributor (code and testing). Linux user since 1995. I currently work for as a Security Engineer/Systems Administrator for an Internet security startup in San Francisco (I live in Oklahoma City though). I am also an amateur radio operator.

If anyone is interested in getting help securing their websites, I will gladly help you you for a small BTC or LTC donation. Wink
