team has analysed the details before, but Im not up to the task. I do remember though that XC platform with TOR is significantly better than just TOR implementation, im just not qualified to explain why.
This is just that when data is kept within the Tor network it is harder to analyse than on plainnet.

Is the current chat based on a direct (encrypted) channel between both parties or are the messages relayed by other nodes?

Yes with the test release your IP is not concealed
Just to address this: the current release doesnt do anything for your IP, as Dan said, but next week, the TOR stick ISO with encrypted EM + wallet will be released FOR FREE to the public, which will connect to the TOR network, utilising XC's platform, and creating the best anon encrypting messaging released till now.
Yes, but relying on Tor to shield the IP is not the full solution - I hope.

Advertising mining pools is no longer allowed, including, but not limited to, altcoin announcement threads. Mining pool ops should make one thread within the Mining section of Alt Currencies. Do not make a separate thread for each coin. Most OP's already link to pools available so advertising your pool is unnecessary and leads to too much spam.

Thanks - Not sure what happened there, haven't had a need to run the mainnet clients for a while. First one as resynced and is unlocked for staking only, cannot send coins without passphrase again.

That's more of a marketing image, the actual ui will probably be diffrenet but it might not be.

It's awesome! - even if several UI-tweaks are still to be done.
First test out for me. Pretty simple. Went to the address book and entered Synechist's address. Right click > messages. Entered the Pubkey and now we're chatting. Time for some experiments.
