You can use Bitcoin Core to obtain that data. Here's an example,

Code:
$ getblockhash 700000
0000000000000000000590fc0f3eba193a278534220b2b37e9849e1a770ca959
$ getblockheader 0000000000000000000590fc0f3eba193a278534220b2b37e9849e1a770ca959

Although if you don't want to download whole Bitcoin blockchain, you could just get raw block data from block explorer and extract raw block header manually.

YES that is what i did, in windows. I think i will do it in linux later for easier.
I see in windows, it does download lot of blockchain files in *.data format although i am still not sure how those *dat files are organized.
My end goal is to be able to parse whole block.

block header parsing question from live blockchain
by
ggbtctalk000
on 12/04/2023, 06:26:11 UTC
After years of interruption,  I am studying internals of bitcoin again,  starting with block header format.  I wanna see in real life,  from blockchainfo info, I can see contents of certain blocks in a web formatted output,  but nowhere seen the block header.
Is there a way to see block header from live public block chain? Any utility?
Following options are fine for me:
1. Using some utility dump header
2. Using some utility fetch (from public chain) entire block including block header write my own parser. Thanks

solidity etherium programming possiblity. is it possible?
by
ggbtctalk000
on 11/04/2023, 02:26:31 UTC
I havent touched on solidity at all. for those who has been programming with solidity, i have an idea of a coin:
something related to living will/trust.
I have created traditional living will it is more thna 100+ long, extremely difficult to interpret. i dont feel comfortable leaving such document for my child and other beneficiaries.
so i thought digital will that can have following capability:

1.can specify time of distribution with big flexibility: xx percent on year 20xx, xx-1 percent on year 20xx+x, xx-2 percent on year 2022x+y.
2. can specify distribution percentage: xx percent to whom etc.,
Once times specified in #1 comes in, coin will be automatically be distributed.
3. Override capability: specify X number of persons who can override. Number of percentage of X persons to agree to override if disagreement arises.

BNB is in x-hairs, is this good opportunity to retrieve my funds locked for yrs?
by
ggbtctalk000
on 17/12/2022, 23:14:46 UTC
I have my funds locked up at binance since aroudn 2018 and password retrieval has been grueling process. I f-ing hate binance they used facial recognition which never works as part recovery and chinese customer service ppl with broken english would not help at all. As a result, I was powerless to pursue this as binance and its CEO has no set address in US and with evasive legal business locations.

With BNB being increasingly scrutinized and many users taking out funds, I am wondering if there is a opportunity to become a part of larger movement perhaps class action in order to retrieve my funds locked up there?

ANy leads on this? I

LHR version of nvidia, will it cause even more shortage of cards sold prior?
by
ggbtctalk000
on 21/05/2021, 00:05:36 UTC
Nvidia said they will reduce the hash rate of future manufacturing cards to like 30x0 lines and will be marked with LHR (light hash rate). But then, will not even cause more shortage of available mining cards that was manufactured and sold on the market prior to? Forget about cards, if hash rate of future cards are halved, then it is like supply of hash rate hardware being halved from now on and may stoke more demands on pre-existing cards?

sorry this is for altcoin however it is also legal. I could not find legal subsection for altcoin. I am ok to move to other more appropriate topic.
I am having major difficulty with restoring account with binance and few other tokens. I am in need of legal assistance as those entities has no physical address in the USA and evasive with their contact ifnormation. Any has any expert law attorney office handling the crypto legal matters? Class action?

Thanks.,

Might be difficult to pursue a legal battle against Binance. Second, they have a physical address as mentioned already, 3rd, it might take years and a lot of money in your end, are you willing to sacrifice that in exchange of your account and few other tokens? I don't think you need expert law attorney here, perhaps we just need to understand what is the issue first and maybe you can just seek assistance from Binance, simply as that.

my funds locked and I am trying to find and group with those whose funds are locked and unable to get their fund usign their customer service.

Before you pursue any legal case with Binance, remember they also have enough legal support with massive experience. You might need to go through all the legal notice while registering on the exchange,if you agree to them then you have to abide the rules. However, your case is not that peculiar, though it might take some time as USA citizen or resident but they could like release your asset later. It took almost 3 months for my brother before he could assess his fund, it has been very difficult for Binance in USA.

I understand that is why I am reaching out hoping to find someone in similar situation for class action or similar. I got my fund locked for 3 years now and in the name of KYI, they have been playing goose game for those entire periods.

mining using MI line of cards
by
ggbtctalk000
on 29/04/2021, 18:25:52 UTC
I bought AMd's MI-25 for mining but also for other purposes. But it has no active cooling system and expects the server to provide cooling. I dont have budget to get expensive server so planning to use on my desktop systems. I am wondering what is the best blower type I can get for MI? Anyone has done?
Due to form factor and design of the casing cooling direction must be from the back of the card to front providing airflow across the length of the card not like consumer GPUs where fan is situated on top of GPU. Well consumer card's fan does or should provide airflow across the length of GPU but MI's external casing suggests there is no opening on the sides of the casing, only way for air to enter is back or front of the card.

So it has to be connected to the back of the card and obviously can not be inside the PC case.
I amlooking somethinglike following:

How to determine suitability and efficiency of GPU mining from spec [discussion]
by
ggbtctalk000
on 20/04/2021, 20:16:18 UTC
I am looking at several factors, memory size, FP32/64. Which one is important?
I compared specs for several AMD and NVIDIA GPUs, it is rumored that AMD's GPUs are speicially suited for Cryptomining, but why?
It appears answer is in FP64 speed. (double floating point). Does mining software extensively use these calculations a lot?
Because in general AMD GPU's ratio of FP64 to FP32 is double the nvidia's.
Lot of AMD GPU's, for example, VEGA56,64 has  FP64/32 ratio of 16 whereas likes of 1080/2080 Nvidia is 32.
Select AMD GPU's MI lines i.e. MI50//MI60/MI100 has ratio of whopping 2 only meaning its FP64 ratio is monstrious.

I am thinking to teach my 8 yr old daughter about crypto. But past history riddled with illicit activity so I was thinking to open her a just dogecoin wallet and have her to learn to use it. Do you think it is suitable? Anyone done this? Or any risk?

Thanks.,
