Re: Is Gavin Andresen undercover for the CIA?
by
gh0st_m0de
on 02/06/2015, 19:45:52 UTC
The only reason why I (slightly) humor conversations of this nature, CIA etc.....is because of the name Satoshi Nakamoto.

At least according to name translations, the name itself Satoshi Nakamoto loosely translates to CIA.

Satoshi translating to "wise, intelligent" (via most any baby naming website)
Nakamoto translating to "central" (again baby naming websites, even geneology.com)

Loosely CIA would fit those translations "theoretically".

I just always though Satoshi N. was a very interesting choice for handle or name.

I have no opinion really on Gavin. Just looking at the bigger picture here. I don't think anyone could really know obviously.
On the flip side, would it matter?

Theoretically, If Gavin were CIA dude - what would that mean or what would the effect on the bitcoin world be? What's the intention?

Im gonna go ahead and say, Gavin prob isnt CIA.
CIA would not want so many people using bitcoin - it dilutes the population with legit users making monitoring whoever even harder.
does that make sense?

Re: I want to buy bitcoins using paypal balance

What about if they sent as a gift. I have never really bought bitcoin with paypal so I don't know what different ways you can send it. I have heard of gift sending, if you force them to send as a gift, is all chargeback possibility removed? Couldn't they still say it was unauthorized transation because even if they used gift it could still be someone unauthorized logging onto their account.

I would second that.

If there is a way to send money in paypal in ways that is not returnable then its' great.

Or, instead of buying bitcoin, I am thinking of buying bitcoin mining shares? Hmmmm... From butterfly labs?

Or anything I can buy with paypal that will become bitcoins eventually? I just need to move paypal balance quickly

since chargebacks can be requested through paypal AND your bank card....i would say its still risky.
You could donate through paypal, to increase chance paypal wont chargeback - but that dont stop the user from calling say, wells fargo, and saying "i accidently donated through paypal, and this is the debit card tied to it - i need to cancel that transaction i made a mistake" usually bank will side with cardholder.

just a heads up it could be possible to do that. if ppl are using paypal, only do it with people you have rapports with and know well.

paypal is the worst way to buy bitcoin.

I think you can use it as a method of payment in some circumstances with LocalBitcoins (if I'm not mistaken).

Re: Do you prefer bitcoin, FIAT money or other?
by
gh0st_m0de
on 31/03/2015, 15:29:56 UTC
Hey guys,

I've decided to open this thread for ask you now if you are forced to choose between bitcoin and FIAT money (eur, usd, yen, etc...) [1].

What will you choose?[2]

[1] Only an hypothetical case.
[2] With all the flaws and strengths of the two option.

That's a hard question to answer because it would depend on the circumstances.
In today's circumstances, if I had to just chose now - sadly I would chose Fiat only because in todays circumstances I would find it hard to manuver in the world using only bitcoin.

Would I prefer that? Nope. I hate fiat. I love bitcoin. I would rather depend on bitcoin and use bitcoin. So many times a day I say out loud "god this would be so much easier if XXXXXXXX just accepted bitcoin".

So, today, if I were forced: I would chose fiat only because I don't think I personally could survive in bitcoin (rent, bills, food, etc).
If the circumstances were different - I would chose bitcoin.

If I had the power to snap my fingers and chose which currency the entire world would use from this moment from now on....I would snap my fingers and change all the worlds fiat to bitcoin in a heartbeat.

Re: FREE CHIPS FOR ALL NEW PLAYERS | NO DEPOSIT NEEDED | WWW.PAYCOINPOKER.COM
by
gh0st_m0de
on 31/03/2015, 15:21:36 UTC
I'm not sure why I gave them the benefit of the doubt and attempted to try their site out. I guess I thought maybe they were new, and just tripping over their own feet...
So after the full name posting, and the poor response from support I saw with the other players...I went in there to see what the story was myself....
I like being in the "know" of newer game sites because people are alwaaaaaaaaaaaaaays asking me for recommendations and I hate hate hate saying "well this site is new but I've never tried it".

You can't test withdraws before first deposit. When I asked, I got a few people in the lobby saying "it works trust me"; but I didn't know any of these people lol - I don't know if they were real players, or spoofs, or what. The admin response was just "too many scammers, you have to deposit first before you can try withdraw".....

strange.....well, Since I could not test the withdraw feature from freerolls, I decided to stop playing there.

I depend on freerolls to try out newer sites - espeically those who are using Mavens software since it's so cheep and can be obtained and run by just about anyone who has $500 bucks in their pocket. My poker game does not depend on freerolls, I deposit many places and can verify that with my wallet addresses to betcoin, nitro, among other places.

I noticed the sign up sheet for the site has registration details, you can chose to use your real full name I guess - or just use whatever you want. I'm guessing that the player whose full name was posted in it's entirety was obtained from this form (perhaps he used his real name to sign up) - so be careful with that.

And to those who are under the impression this is phil ivey's site, the poker pro - it's not. I was under this impression too for a short moment.

I was really looking forward to a new mavens site because I'm old school, and got comfortable on the old seals software. Just in general, I've been waiting for a good new poker site to show up I could help promote the crap out of...I think everyone in poker world is thirsty for something new and good. I think people should generally beware of this new room IMO.

I gave it an honest shot, with an open mind, even in despite of the complaints. I still have 36ish xpy in my account I just left there.

Re: FREE CHIPS FOR ALL NEW PLAYERS | NO DEPOSIT NEEDED | WWW.PAYCOINPOKER.COM
by
gh0st_m0de
on 30/03/2015, 21:50:07 UTC

Here is the deal. I don't think you understand what paycoin is. Paycoinpoker withdraws in paycoin and not bitcoin. That makes it impossible to withdraw paycoins to a bitcoin address. That is what I believe anyway.

Attempting to withdraw XPY to a BTC address will result in an invalid address error.
The coins, in the end, stay in your account.....unless they have been removed by site owner after request (which I have actually seen done by paycoinpoker admin while claiming they got lost in cyberspace)

I've tested this over and over again. XPY will never send out into "cyberspace" when accidently withdrawn into a bitcoin account. The end result is just the network won't recognize the transaction. Another member has complained they accidentally withdrew their XPY into a bitcoin wallet, and paycoinpoker response was "oh well your mistake they are lost now"; which was just fluff because the coins would have never gone anyway. The response was short, aloof, rude, and inaccurate.

Also beware that PayCoinPoker is posting full names and personally identifiable information about it's members...
So if you have an issue with Paycoinpoker, and they don't agree with you - they will respond with aggression and if they have access to your private info, they will post it in forums....I saw this first hand between them and another member this week. Red flag went up.

Re: Has anyone here ever made money gambling with BTC?
by
gh0st_m0de
on 28/03/2015, 17:01:17 UTC
I have.

I'm not saying I've made enough to buy a house and a new car or anything.....so don't get the wrong impression. LOL

I only play poker really, on various sites. Yes I have made some nice pocket change from it. Yes I have lost some too.

In the past couple weeks I've made about 100 bucks playing poker here and there on some micro tables and $25 GTD's on betcoin.
For example, a couple days ago I took the $25 GTD (.50 cent buyin) for first place and it paid out $15 in btc.

Are you asking because you are unsure of the bitcoin gambling community being legit or not?
If so, you just have to be wise about where you deposit, and do research before you start going to a site.
Most well known legit and trusted bitcoin gaming sites have a good community following from here, to their forums.
IMO I trust betcoin and nitro most and love playing there. I also tool with Bitcasino and their live poker (and sometimes Roulette) its fun!

If you want to try perhaps poker or anything, look for sites that offer freerolls. It allows you to play for free, try their platform out, risking no money - and if you win the freerolls you get to keep the BTC.

Good Luck!

My first official Grindabuck Cashout.
BTC0.19604 - todays current value $49 bucks.

https://blockchain.info/tx/c5212b6e6e598029249fece59324f2c75fc64d6feb7e2ec7e8bfd1afc13da2e3

This was the easiest 49 bucks I've ever made. I have a dual monitor setup and as I grinded random poker games (like I usually do), I kept grindabuck up on my second screen and did a few offers on their wall. My chrome auto fill kind of did most of the work lol. Few clicks later, I had accumulated a nice lil pocket of crypto. Plus I had used my referral link and had one pretty active referral who also contributed to my growing stash....

So wanted to give Chaz a shout out and a thank you for the easy crypto earning op, and drop a line that I really dig the Grindabuck site.

Cheers! Grin

I guess you are not aware that I have the whole entire convo saved.

Some highlights:

gh0st: are you guys multiaccounts cuz sometimes you guys say the same thing
fox19891989: my time 3AM
SyGambler96: my time 3AM
gh0st: like that
gh0st: you are a multiaccount?
fox19891989: lol
gh0st: look im gonna be cool, but don't play together ok?
SyGambler96: lol
gh0st: if i dont see it again i wont like report it. but if i do....fish will take away both accounts
gh0st: so thats a official warning
fox19891989:  Wink
SyGambler96: ok i will change the smile
SyGambler96:  Wink
fox19891989:  Wink
gh0st: no seriously
gh0st: do you agree to what i just told you?
mk1803: whom ru talking to ghost??
gh0st: fox and sy
fox19891989:  Wink
SyGambler96: ok ok boss
gh0st: thank you

but it drags on after that conclusion for some reason......
and more highlights:
gh0st: ive never given a warning out for that before
SyGambler96: how is ur snake Smiley
gh0st: its usually just direct kick
SyGambler96: yeah let them kick us Smiley
gh0st: snake?
gh0st: ok consider it done
sleepy024: the snake u had in your house last night i think? lol
gh0st: oh
SyGambler96: yeah
SyGambler96: not in your something else Smiley
fox19891989:
SyGambler96: come on fox
sleepy024: u dont know her very well to be sayin that....lmao
gh0st: do you know im a mod here or u just dont care you broke the rules in front of me?

and thus continues even longer down the freeroll
and more highlights:
SyGambler96: i won tourneys more than u all Smiley
gh0st: wanna compare wallets? cuz i doubt that
fox19891989: fish is my good friend
SyGambler96: i didnt deposit
fox19891989: he won't trust you
gh0st: he made me a moderator
sleepy024: lol
gh0st: and i screen capped you saying this whole convo

And even more highlights: This was prob more than halfway through the convo when suddenly he was "kidding".
gh0st: i asked you when you started double typing the same thing from both accounts like you did in front of other players who reported you yesterday
gh0st: and i was nice about it...
fox19891989: cheaters never admit. he was just kidding
SyGambler96: seriously
SyGambler96: !!
gh0st: how did ya'll type the same thing from different keyboards several times over the past few days
gh0st: forgetting almost which person was supposed to say what thing....
SyGambler96: u think if i am a cheater i will tell that i m a cheater ?
gh0st: ok look
gh0st: fish is ultimatly going to make the decision

but still, this continues......still even more time passes...
gh0st: i asked you a few times if you were a multi to be clear
gh0st: and you said ok, and lots of things that confirmed we were on the same page about the question
SyGambler96: u r just an idiot
sleepy024: no obviosly u r...lol
SyGambler96: u think cheater will approve their cheating ??
gh0st: no i think you are upset becuase i warned you and said i was a mod...and then you changed your story

The conversation is actually like 4x longer. But if you can see where the confusion came from, it was you, not me. This was reported several times before I even approached you about it. It was your choice to respond how you responded. So I conclude with two things:

1. You and someone else are sharing accounts and at times they are being played by one person (per the several complaints of people saying you mix your keyboards up responding from the wrong alt as if you were the same person - when I finally saw this for myself with the 3am comment I decided to finally ask you and warn you. I was not even going to report this to fish. I told you ppl make mistakes and it was cool. If you were kidding, at this point you should have said you were kidding - but you chose not to)

2. You are not a multiaccount, but you decided to troll a mod for over 45 when clearly they were being completely polite to you and asking you a simple question.

Either way, that is your bad...not mine. People know I'm pretty much BS free so, whatever you were doing - that was your choice to make it appear how you made it appear.  I simply followed what bigfish told me to do; make sure you were aware that I was a mod, and then report it to fish.

The point isnt that you multiaccounted. I dont even care about multiaccounters personally because they rarely win IMO.  FISH is the one who made some big deal about multiaccounters on his site one day around the Fourms. I was under impression he took this more seriously than any other site and that made his site a little different. Weather or not you were a multi is besides the point after you dragged this out so long.

My point is that as a member of the site, you dragged out unnecessary drama while implying for half of it that you were admitting you were a multiaccount rather than just simply saying you were not - then 45 min later changing your story to you were kidding and expecting me to care. I asked you a simple question. Gave you benefit of the doubt. You played game. You "defamed" yourself. Other people were in that room too, and those people were under the same impression I was as you were speaking.

I think anyone with a sane mind would probably be compelled to sympathize with my personal perception that you afforded me in this situation. Anyone who knows me around these parts would validate I'm not a random jerk who was giving you some hard time for no reason (like you did to me for no reason)- and honestly - on various other sites I've been a long time mod for - I think I've kicked a total of one person (thats how super laid back I am).

So now that I got that out of the way.....I'll leave the last word for whatever trolls are lurking who feel the need to troll.

Other than that, I wish you all the best and nothing but good vibes and lucky grinds.

I'm off.
peace.

PS. Just for the record, this whole topic was dropped and forgotten about till I saw you harping on about it in the thread here....if you don't want to bring it up, dont bring it up.

Luckyflop should be a good place to play poker, but after that ghost defamed me, the other player called Cezar, keeps defaming me, still said I have multi account. Before the drama of ghost, sygamler and me happened, this guys is usually cursing other players including me in Portuguese.

Admin I hope you can ban the account: cezar. I don't wanna see him everyday bullshitting there, he's deliberately defame me, it's very harmful to your platform, nowadays I hardly play there because there is a retard named cezar everyday defaming me.  Angry Angry Angry

I think if you don't want to be accused of multiaccounting, you should not self-promote that you are and self-disclose it in public chat - as you did - in front of not just me, but other members in the room.

That conversation was an entire freeroll long. You act as if I was the one who created that accusation. Several members came to me with the complaint already, I said nothing to you until I saw their complaints happen in front of me.

Still I never accused you, I asked you. No one attacked you, no one was mean, no one was aggressive. But you were def rude the entire time.

It was your choice to admit, or pretend, that you were multiaccounting. And if you were pretending, I don't really understand how implying and dragging that convo out for 30 min would be a funny joke.

The way it was handled also wasted my time. I agreed to help fish because he asked and his hands looked full. I work from home, so it's easy to keep an extra screen up while I work. I believed in his site at the time and wanted to help promote it, refer ppl there, and uphold rules that BigFish himself put in place.

If that were my site, even if you were found to NOT be multiaccounting - you would have been kicked for wasting my Mod's time...not just a few min, but an exaggerated entire freeroll you played this out. Perhaps next time, keep it simple, just say "nope".

And yes, I was disappointed how that played out. I was pretty excited to pitch in. I'm confident I left for the right reasons. I have nothing personal against their site, so this is not a rip in their direction it's just my truth. I just don't have time for that kind of disorganized drama. But when I see comments like this being casually posted as if this is reality, I just wanted to throw my 2cents in there. Take responsibility for your own behavior, weather you were multiaccounting or just being misleading for whatever reason.
