link on HOW to get masternodes when it happens again please (or at least the process)

Will do, it will be compatible with Dash or PivX, depending on which wins the vote. Here's my summary (with my opinion) of the current debate.

There is an active vote to move to Discord, Discord is winning by a landslide. There will be a vote in the coming days, the questions are:

Fork Dash, deal with patented, centralized updates that could take forever. Helium should not remain compatible with Dash long enough to even get 1 security update. Dash is POW.

Or

Fork PivX and get a less proven tech, but faster speeds out the door, little risk of centralization and a wallet that is more advanced. IE: Treasury proposals and Masternode voting from the wallet.

My take:

POW will never scale, it will always be wasteful and no one really benefits from it except ASIC manufacturers. The age old question, spend my money on mining equipment or buy coins. Well, in the history of crypto, buying coins flat out has always been  the better choice. POW will attrack negative media attention for wasting electricity and is vulnerable to a 51% attack.

POS solves the entry level dilemma, buying coins is mining. You PC will process transaction (or VPS) the way Satoshi Nakamoto intended. You earn rewards staking until you have enough for a Masternode, then you can move to that for more rights and income. POS is more secure against a 51% attack, you can't just control 51% of the hash power (like Bitmain could), you have to own 51% of the coins, which becomes impossible. POS has no mining pools to sabotage software upgrades, that is BTCs biggest flaw.

Has the move to discord been completed?

Man, I'm really getting tired of emotionally coddling the children on this board. Stop responding to newbie trolls, some of you are either lying or incompetent. Slack was updated days ago.

To offer some insight into a few burning questions that arise every so often:

1. @coins101 and myself are most definitely committed to this project and the motivations are not financially rooted. Said another way, both of us have been working day jobs in the Enterprise world at various levels (you can look up my background via Linkedin https://www.linkedin.com/in/cassidyjason/ ).  We have accomplished much in our professional careers outside of cryptocurrency as well as a fair share within. For both of us the goal here is simple - Create something that will last well beyond our years in the project. We have put a sizeable amount of our own funds (yes, a lot of money) into the project and we have every intention of seeing that come back to us someday.

2. The Bittrex listing was something that both @coins101 and myself worked diligently on for many months. Not weeks, months. This was due to a changing of the political climate and Bittrex was preparing to address this. Their resources were very constrained due to having to jump through hoops for regulators and other improved security measures. They also knew helping us with the snapshot would be more work on their end. Sadly, we did not get word from them that they could not help us until very close to our snapshot date. At the time, the snapshot date had been pushed back to accommodate an exchange due to the overwhelming support from the community to have one for convenience.  We had a back-up option in Cryptopia and we pivoted as fast as possible without forcing yet another delay on the community.

3. This project has very long term goals with Enterprise aspirations. Any chain can close DASH and toss out a MN setup with a few fancy tech terms to gain a quick marketcap placing. This is not our interest, so much of the work we do that cannot be shared here is due to either legal reasons or it is in the best interest of our partnerships at the time. Some of the delays on the project to date have been due to this and that is a reflection of our long term focus to bring value to the chain. Nothing outside of real world usage is going to matter soon with a space of 5000 coins

Unless I'm mistaken there is no longer any way to join the slack group? Thanks for the update I suppose.

The coin is not technically dead just not easily tradeable whilst its not on an exchange. If it gets listed on an exchange it'll be back in business.

Just bagged 5k TRC!

So excited about the incoming hard fork and the masternodes!

Keep the good job Dev

Thanks!  Looks like quite a few people are bagging 5k right now!

I was following the Bitcoin Garden updates topic.

As a proud future Masternode owner, i would like to contribute to the community.

I think you could consider rebranding Terracoin together with the hardfork. That would reinforce the new trc model.

Here is a few lines i've drawn this evening. If you like the idea and willing to make this happen, i can improve it on your feedback.

This logo is a significant improvement. Minimal. Plus it seems re-branding always has a positive effect.

Hi all,
Is there a legitimate reason why the Crave windows wallet shows up the .qt file as containing a trojan?
Had this issue with a couple of wallets now.

How do you add them?
I tried creating a terracoin.conf file in the roaming/terracoin folder but no change.

You can add through the Qt Gui client's About Debug menu, there's a debug console.

Did this help?  If not then I can send you some screenshots.  Thanks!

I entered the nodes list in debug the window and it worked thanks

Hi guys!
Sorry if I'm bothering you but I can't connect my qt wallet to any active connections (0 active connections). Am I doing something wrong or there's a problem with terracoin network right now?
I don't have any problems with other qt-wallets (LTC, BTC and so on).
Thank you!

There is a problem with the DNS seed on the Windows wallet.  It will be fixed in the next update.  You will need to add nodes manually.  Here is a guide I threw together.

http://www.terracoin.info/2017/07/how-to-add-nodes-to-the-terracoin-windows-wallet/

Is the guide somewhere else now? This link no longer works

The new website destroyed it.

Here are a list of nodes:

Some current nodes if you are having trouble connecting:
addnode 62.138.3.214:13333 add
addnode 23.152.0.149:13333 add
addnode 108.61.10.90:13333 add
addnode 82.200.205.30:13333 add
addnode 93.113.101.229:13333 add

We are going to have better looking guides soon.

How do you add them?

Seems this is dead. We switched our explorer off. if the community has a need, shoot me a pm and ill turn it back on.

Yeah keep it on. It lets you check the status of transactions in terms of confirmations, right?

As advised by Bittrex:

@everyone We're now going into a period of confidentiality over the Bittrex listing. If you ask about progress, we'll respond with something like 'we are now in a period of confidentiality over the listing process, we can't tell you one way or another'

We'll make an announcement over the launch process in the next day or two, which will cover the August swap / airdrop. The OP will also see some updates.

Please see update here

When is the snapshot date moving to? I didn't read that in there.
