Re: Error when starting Multibit HD on windows 7 64bit
by

It is having problems reading a configuration file called 'mbhd.yaml' in your application directory.

It is stored in somewhere like:
C:\Users\example\AppData\Roaming\MultiBitHD

'example' is your user name.

You can try the following:
+ Shut down MultiBit HD
+ rename mbhd.yaml to old-mbhd.yaml
+ start up MultiBit HD

It will then recreate the file with the default settings.

Bug raised as: https://github.com/bitcoin-solutions/multibit-hd/issues/653

That Worked!
The error was after i clicked the Exit button without logging to the wallet, not sure if that's helpful...
Thank you very much Smiley

Re: Users of Bitcoin Core on Linux must not upgrade to the latest version of OpenSSL

Thank you very much for this
But it seems now i can't update & upgrade ubuntu, it says something about wrong dependencies, any solution for that?

Without you telling me which dependencies are wrong, no. Wink Most likely, you downgraded only part of your openssl packages, leaving some at the newer version. Make sure that you downgrade them all.

Do a dpkg -l | grep '1.0.1f' so see if there are different versions installed.

Okay, i think you are correct, here is the output-
iU  libssl1.0.0:amd64                                     1.0.1f-1ubuntu2.7                                   amd64        Secure Sockets Layer toolkit - shared libraries
iF  libssl1.0.0:i386                                      1.0.1f-1ubuntu2.8                                   i386         Secure Sockets Layer toolkit - shared libraries
hi  openssl                                               1.0.1f-1ubuntu2.7                                   amd64        Secure Sockets Layer toolkit - cryptographic utility

it have libssl 2.8, how do i completly remove it?
i am using ubuntu 14.04 64 bit,

Thank you very much!

how do you downgrade ?

Code:
lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:    Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
Release:        14.04
Codename:       trusty

Code:
dpkg -s openssl | grep Version
Version: 1.0.1f-1ubuntu2.8

You need to search for the version you need, download if for your architecture, and install it manually.

For example, in this case you search for 1.0.1f-1ubuntu2.7. You can find it here: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssl/1.0.1f-1ubuntu2.7
Select your architecture and download the .deb package of openssl and libssl (and the -dev packages if you need them). Then install them using dbpg.

Assuming that you're on 64bit:

Code:
wget https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-security-proposed/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+build/6463840/+files/openssl_1.0.1f-1ubuntu2.7_amd64.deb
wget https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-security-proposed/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+build/6463840/+files/libssl1.0.0_1.0.1f-1ubuntu2.7_amd64.deb
dpkg -i openssl_1.0.1f-1ubuntu2.7_amd64.deb
dpkg -i libssl1.0.0_1.0.1f-1ubuntu2.7_amd64.deb

That's it Smiley

Thank you very much for this
But it seems now i can't update & upgrade ubuntu, it says something about wrong dependencies, any solution for that?

Looking for Investor, Bitmit is dead, let's open the best bitcoin marketplace
by
gigantic
on 24/04/2014, 14:34:30 UTC
Hi,

Bitmit is dead as you know, and most people on this forum know,

I am looking for a passive/active investor or several investors to join and make the next big Bitcoin Auction Marketplace.

The investment is 200 BTC, and will cover everything from script, security, a dedi server, to a Promotion budget,

The majority of the budget at this point will go to Promotion,  gain recognition and to make the site successful,

If you are serious, and can invest 200 BTC on something with the ability to become the next "ebay", but in bitcoin, send me a PM and we will discuss,

As for trust, i understand that nobody is going to hand over 200 BTC to manage everything, while i don't have reputation, so to over come this, i suggest to work with you step by step, with a plan, and you can pay directly for the needs of the site, like for paying for advertise on this forum+ forum signatures rent, and everything else, its your choice, i am hoping to build the trust as we progress,

So if you are serious, have some time, and want to take part of this project, send me a PM, if possible give me some way to chat with you online, but its not a must, we can also communicate by emails.

Thanks,
Joe.

Could somebody please guide me step-by-step how to upgrade bitcoind from 0.8.1 to 0.8.2 on Ubuntu 13.04 64-bit server?

I did:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install bitcoind

But the system said that I have the latest version (0.8.1, but not 0.8.2)

Looks like an 0.8.2 update is not available in the repository yet..

UPDATE

Compiling bitcoind/litecoind on Ubuntu Server 13.04

http://bitcointalk.co.za/t/compiling-bitcoind-litecoind-on-ubuntu-server-13-04/44

I am running ubuntu 13.04, Not the server version, and my problem is similar, i am trying to upgrade bitcoin-qt , i did upgrade && update, but the bitcoin wallet is not getting the update, any way to install the new version on ubuntu 13.04 without downloading the whole blockchain? will it be in the repository soon?

Thanks.

What were the dividends paid on April 18?

It was something arount 7mBTC/share. Right now it looks like 5.5-5.9 mBTC/share without sales (that should be around 1.5-2 mBTC/share)

i dont think he want to know "something around", be specific,
and if you can, please specify the btc/share...(not around) Tongue
