RM 1000W, Up for sale, just trying to empty my inventory now.
You can buy new one with free shipping for $121 on Amazon. Any price adjustments?

Oh yeah you can offer something, sorry I was doing that on the phone and for some reason I just double checked and it said nonnegotiable maybe auto correct or something I don't know its been so long.~ Well at the same time another bump. Came back from the holidays hopefully everyone had a good one and looking forward to a great year.  Grin

EDIT: was that really what the price was going for on Amazon? I never seen the 1000W so low like that before usually I have only seen it like $160 but assuming a holiday sell or something?

Update on a few things regarding some messages about how the price is pretty much what Bitmain is listing as.

Some facts that can be considered since I am shipping in US which should be 2-3 days and no custom related stuff.

If you order from Bitmain you can expect at least a week for it to arrive if there isn't any problems with custom clearance in China. I had a few miners in the past that was stuck for weeks.

Also you don't have to worry about the miner working or not since the whole point for me was to test it, do research and now that I am done just selling it. Yes just this simple no other complicate reason cause there seriously isn't. Plus I don't remember any rule for how fast or late you can sell your miners last time I checked.

I am hoping this clears all these weird confusion to why I am selling it when I just barely got it and decided upon the current price. Of course I am always willing to consider decent offers.

If there is anything else I missed and you have questions just feel free to ask. Just forget about telling me about what the price is listed on Bitmain.

I bought it from them and I obviously go to their site everyday to check for price updates.

Overall just go straight to the point for what you want to offer and such like a real market place. It's just a simple buy and sell at the best mutual agreed price. Smiley

Thanks,

Hi, previous customer of yours here Wink I may be interested in this. Can you give me the dimensions of the bitmain box and the weight? On the bitmain site it mentions dimensions but I don't think that's of the actual shipping box just the unit itself.

Cool yeah will send you the dimensions via PM it would be great if you were able to get this I just get PM from so many that just doesn't make sense or unnecessary.

"There is a RECALL on these RM850 and the RM750 units. And the recall was done in November for units made with the serial number 1341 or lower. The first two numbers '13' are the year 2013 and the second two number '41' is the week manufactured"

Can you check the serial numbers on those RM850s please?

Sure will do that once I get back home, been away for Thanksgiving and such. I should be able to find out late tonight sorry for the late reply.

Re: Bitcoin Miner as a job
by
gingpark
on 27/11/2014, 10:07:23 UTC
home mining is tough right now.  depending on your region and how much they charge for power.  you may be better off buying the coin instead.

I believe that is true, pretty much home mining is not really a job but at the moment with the average electricity rate that must people have at home.

I say as a lot people have mentioned on the forums this is more of a hobby.

I had to just sell off my miners be off since the price dropped to $400. It just does produce enough to cover expenses.

I say its a job if you manage a large data center with all electricity running on solar and never pay electricity ever again.

I hope mining will lead to faster pace development in the solar energy.

Solar is just too high priced for the wattage needed with mining.

I personally am lucky with low priced electricity and it's winter so free to super cheap cooling.

I have used winter to expand soon I will be up to 11k watts (approx 15T worth of gear).  Winter is making it possible for me personally.

Yes the price for solar is way to high and I can make guess to why that is but that is most likely a different topic in itself.

And you are lucky with low electricity I really do wish I had the same since even as a hobby, mining itself is pretty fun overall.

To a certain degree like a lot of times, hobby for what I believe is suppose to take a lot of money and it's stuff you don't even consider about ROI cause it is fun and what you want to do.

At the moment just feels like all you do is pay bills with nothing much left which to me definition of a job? Haha  Tongue

I actually feel good with my low electricity.   I am doing more then paying just bills.  It is no longer guaranteed  ROI, but is very possible for me.

How low is it to consider it as cheap electricity? is 0.1 KWH good enough nowadays?

That is what I'm at almost.   The big thing for me is over next few months winter weather.  You can pull that very cold air in and push hot air out for extremely cheap compared to AC in summer.

Make sure to check and make sure it does no get huge on tiers, some have a sliding scale depending on how much you use.

For me 0.1 KWH would be a dream nowadays without the tier system. I haven't check out the rates for winter yet but for summer I was getting .25+ and plus there is that AC.

Which is just crazy due to the tier over here especially since I have to share the meter with other people as well so always ending up with the highest rates which starts at 60%+ usage.

In the past though they allowed more KWH in the first tier which ranged from ~.1 - .15 but nowadays they reduced how long I can stay in that tier by 50% so pretty much instantly jumps to the highest tier.  Embarrassed

Re: Cloud or Pool

Agreeing to the first two replies, I don't really think cloud would work out unless you do go into trading but that in itself seems like a headache to me personally.

So yeah cloud ---> "mining" <--- part doesn't make much sense, yes I am sure there are people that do understand.

Yup hardware mining nowadays require such a large investment since starting small and adding bit by bit will just always end up pretty much the same return since difficulty will adjust every time.

Pretty much see if you can invest enough to show "net" profit -- after electricity and such for it to be able to sustain on its own to be a business.

Right now mining for me just seems like more of a hobby where I don't expect much of a return if any especially at the current price of bitcoin.

(Had to go offline during the summer ... now just seeing how the rates are for winter to see if I will continue).

GO GO GO DIFFICULTY GO ...... down!!!

nice one I am on board with this!

Grin and as well as we need the prices of BTC to go UP UP UP!!!

Honestly seems too low at the moment ... not trying to go to deep on price speculation in this thread but just my opinion.

Although surely everyone wants the prices to be as HIGH as possible Tongue
