I have dumped some Waves this year and will continue to do so in order to invest in better project.
Definitly Ivanov is building stuff that are still available from other companies but ivanov's concept of all-in-all blockchain tools is clearly a massive failure.
My bet : nice tool but no real users so sell before you lose your money.

Next step now is to sell my vostock token before becoming worthless.

From an absolute Newbie, I take that as a 'buy signal' !  Cheesy

if that's a success.

It will be a success! It will take a fair bit of canny marketing - viral ads and the like.

Will Coval owners receive a compensation for all these inconveniences (fees to move Coval from Bittrex, Btc-fees in the counterparty wallet!?)!?

Why the hell don't COVAL use Waves token. Waves have the speed and the smart contract tech to do anything Shannon want's to do. Eth is slow, unwieldy and expensive.

Plus with Waves - they are listed on WAVES DEX automatically and probably Tidex too.

on a more positive note:

from the site blocktivity.info

"one way to consider a blockchain project is through its market cap. Another way, closer to the real value, is observing the activity on the blockchain. Lots of FUD and HYPE are responsible for "misplaced" capital in the cryptocurrency space. Here, we are observing which project is actually being used by people, which is in our opinion, the best predictive indicator of value you can have".

with this criteria waves is 12th of 28 major active blockchains, and present a good chance of large adoption.

since the beginning of may, several transactions reaching 10M usd have been realized, in contrast with precedent month.

nice and good ... but most people are looking for CoinMarketCap and there Waves is ranked
34 ... even Doge is 5 places ahead of Waves
Doge .... that's ridiculous

I am quietly confident that Vostok will be a top ten CMC project.

All the advantages of Ripple XRP. Many, many additional advantages and few, if any, of the downsides.

Re: Waves Desktop Wallet and Vostok Token Airdrop?
by

on 14/05/2019, 11:26:07 UTC
Hi there.  Is the reason yu sent 0.001 waves to a certain address as oppose to downloading the waves keeper for security purposes?  Thus you don't want to download anymore programs that might be security risk?

Not just security. For second airdrop I sent the nominal Tx because it was more convenient.

Also the other way to verify using WavesKeeper doesn't support ledger nano - so they should verify with Tx as well.

As for the amount - about 1/3 Vostok for every Wave and/or WCT and for the second drop, about a tenth I think.

I predict that Vostok will become at least a top 10 blockchain soon after release - it's everything Ripple XRP should have been but with many more advantages and few of the downsides.

Re: Which is Fastest TPS and most secured crypto blockchain ?
by
glerant
on 15/01/2019, 15:42:07 UTC
All projects make unrealistic claims about TPS, security and best decentralisation consensus but on practical purposes

1> which is the fastest, most  secured and decentralised blockchain already working ( i.e mainnet already running)

2> which is the most fastest, most  secured and decentralised blockchain whose mainnet will be releasing in 2019 and how they compare to other competitors

3> which is the most promising upcoming project in the space which has solid team and don't claim unrealistic expectations

4> what is theoritacal maximum tps , best consensus and crypto security can be achieved according to technology available today and within next 4-5 years

Expecting answers from researchers , enthusiast , nakamoto son  and all those who like to scratch there heads.

According to Yahoo Finance, Waves Platform is World's fastest public blockchain.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/enterprise-blockchain-gets-boost-investors-110000262.html

It's open source. Mainnet since 2016. Token creation, DEX, Rich API, Smart Contracts and decentralised.

Lot's of other platforms claim TPS but Waves has 100TPs real world verified on nodes spread across the globe. With bulk transfer that figure rises to 10K TPs.

Theoretical maximum for WavesNG protocol is 1K TP/s.

As for security, code was audited by 3rd parties and benefits from core and user security updates on a regular basis.

Waves is a potential coin and deserves to be a top 10 coins but it is  a long way to go to outperform ETH, I will definitely grab some more Wawes to my portfolio while it is relatively cheap.

It already outperform ETH in terms of speed and performance and DAPPS based on Waves Platform RIDE standard will see a huge boost in usefullness in the next week or two.

Actually even they create more fast than bitcoin now like waves still both have different worth like they are very useful then another thing i don't look what is fast about transaction i look in fees so for me bitcoin is good in all then this is already trusted here in crypto with many different transaction and many trading pairs so even yahoo finance say that in news better to look at the worth of everything like use all

I think the gist of what you said is, 'It's all very well having the fastest blockchain but you also have to look at fees'.

Well yes. I am happy with the fees on Waves platform. They are orders of magnitude cheaper than Bitcoin. That's why I use Waves to store & move around all my other crypto. The trading fees on the Waves Distributed Exchange (WAVES DEX) are also cheap and I like having the same interface on my desktop & phone.

I think the lack of marketing and more platform are the reasons why Waves' potential is not materializing, we know here that Waves is very fast but how about the people who are not here but looking for a fast payment method, the majority of topics here are all about Bitcoin and Ethereum.

I don't know about marketing. How many other blockchain platforms featured on CNN TV, Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance etc

How does that compare to Waves?

Not very favorably. With Waves you see transaction in less than 1 second.

In any case EOS is more like Ripple with it's private master nodes - it's not proper decentralised blockchain.

I do not agree that because something else is faster than this one. Look at this ;
Quote
with the blockchain supporting hundreds of transactions per second at peak times
you can get that statement on their social media or you can go to here for more about it; https://blog.wavesplatform.com/waves-sets-record-for-maximum-transactions-per-day-c540c9ea92e9

based on that, until today. At best it is only around a hundred~hundreds of transactions per second. While XLM can do 1000 transaction per second based on their claim.
that means XLM is the fastest public blockchain in the world until today.

about XLM, you can read it here; https://www.lumenauts.com/blog/how-many-transactions-per-second-can-stellar-process

You're wrong.

XLM isn't decentralised so you are comparing chalk with cheese. The masternode's can't be considered 'public' either.

In any case you are wrong on speed as well.

Waves can sustain 10K TPS with bulk transfers. So Waves clearly is the fastest.

You are wrong and Yahoo Finance is right.

Alright, it's my fault for not seeing 'public platform' on the thread.
and mind to tell me, where did you see that waves can sustain 10k TPS? obviously, it'll be the fastest blockchain in our world if it is true, but until now.
I have yet to figure this out on the internet? not even on their social media mention it.

The 10K TPS figure is for mass transfers - 100TPS X 100 (MAX) mass transfer = 10K TPS.
The mass transfer really is very useful for airdrops and other transfer types where lots of payments need to be made.

Oh. And I appreciate your civility - not so common on BitCoinTalk Alt forums!

Waves could be a good platform but this is not yet establish and this might be a temporary pump that will create hype to attract more investors while ETH is in dumps. Although waves is much cheaper than ETH this coin can perform a higher run compared to ETH but not to the point that will beat ETH in the ranking.

You seem to possess a lot of assurance and wisdom for a newbie poster with 0 credit!

Is this true?

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/enterprise-blockchain-gets-boost-investors-110000262.html

Apparently, since December 2017 (WavesNG) - I would have thought Waves would be top 3 platform.

I can vouch for that. Being involved in the Testnet stress tests at the time.

Mind you, Waves Platform is a LOT, LOT more than the fastest blockchain.

Waves is a coin that I have left for a long time, because in my opinion the development is too slow, honestly I prefer to invest in Ethereum considering the price of Ethereum is still relatively cheap, so it will give me profit in the next year.

Ethereum down from $1000 to $100, Waves up from $1 to $3.50. You have my condolences, Dear Friend.

I hope that the whole market will be bullish again but I have doubts that XRP will ever cross the bar of 5 USD. XRP is a centralised bank solution and this token do not worth even 1 dollar, but XRP for 5 USD is something unimaginable for me.

Ripple was never that great. It's closed, private and not a cryptocurrency in the sense people here believe to be. It's more like Paypal or some other private money exchange company.

surge so fast these couple of days. price doubles in two days. if it can reach up to 3 digit by next year,  it may really be the biggest regrets for those who had sold their tokens so early. waves are easy to buy and sell since it has its own dex while also login into its wallet.

I have noticed more and more people coming to the Telegram and Discord trying out Waves.

Once they have tried and used Waves for a couple of days, they will not want to go back to using other crypto.  Cheesy
