Re: [Guide and Giveaway] Mining Protoshares on Digital Ocean and Giveaway too!

Thanks! I received the PTS.

What hash rate are you getting on this set up? Have you found any benefit to larger droplet sizes or different process limits (i.e. making it the same as the # of CPU's).

I ask because I've tried larger droplets and different process limits and the hashrate actually gets worse! Steady ~8.9HPM on 8CPU/16GB.

I've never used Bitguard. But if it's giving you troubles, try privateinternetaccess.com instead. That's what I use with no problems. They accept BTC.

This is a very cool idea. Crypotonomicon meets real life.

Hong Kong is probably the best bet because of its backing by China which gives it a chance against the cabal of FINCEN & the banker duopolies and would allow the tech to compete on its own value-adding merits rather than be preemptively & intentionally strangled by regulations...but anyway...Antigua might be interested too. Antigua is pretty pissed at the US for effectively shutting down its online gambling industry, which then damaged Antigua's economy badly. http://www.nestmannalliance.com/2013/02/the-right-to-piracy/

In that video Alex Jones was convinced that Max Keiser started Bitcoin. "Just admit it max, admit it" lol

I like Max, but I don't think he's smart enough to be Satoshi.

I don't know. I'm bullish long term. But looking at some of the posts on Reddit, people are saying "I got in at 25", "I got in at 35" and planning to max out their daily buying limit on coinbase. That sounds like a bit of a bubble to me. But maybe I'm just hopeful so I can get in lower. lol

Re: Interested in starting a legitimate escrow service - Need your input

For online communication other than Skype, you might want to look at encrypted XMPP (jabber) or www.webrtc.org. Both allowed encrypted voip.

Bitcoin escrow is going to be hard. Gavin had a little escrow service (Clear Coin) at one point, but I believe stopped it to concentrate on core development. His planned solution was to have both parties agree to have the bitcoin donated to a 3rd party charity if one of the escrow parties failed to follow through.

It's a tough problem you're trying to solve. But if you can crack it, the rewards will be probably be good. It seems like a needed service.

Using bittorrent to download the block chain is a really interesting idea. I wonder if it'd go faster that way because of all the potential peers to download from... interesting idea.

It's interesting to look at the BTC chart going back 6 months - 1 year. A real hockey stick curve is going on right now. And so many people on reddit saying "I got in at 25" or 35... and buying more. Feels a little like a bubble to me.
