One way to think of this is that a group of Chinese miners just gave over $50K away to other miners, to reward those other miners for checking the block versions before building new blocks.
Terribly nice of them, really. Though I'm sure they'd prefer to've collected the prize themselves, it's nice of them to "support" those who are doing a better job than they are.

Its safe to send. If anything its the receiver that needs to wait for 30+ confirmations to ensure that he will retain the bitcoin.
Only the guy who controls the private keys of the address can double spend right?
Also excuse me for my noobness, but i`m not a tech person. How is it safe to send when blockchain.info hasnt updated their client, what if they send that bitcoin to the wrong blockchain, those coins are lost then arent they?
no the coins are not a physical object that land on one side of the other that can be lost when one side takes the dump
they are a logical object the chain only records change in ownership so if its sent to the wrong chain the coin comes back to the sender when that chain takes a dump

no no no there is no stolen information the problems are all for people receiving BTC on older or light security wallets and it doesn't even say that it compromises the wallet it might compromise the individual transaction you received

sort of their work is invalidated if they build on a bad block meaning for that case it counts as 0 nada zip zilch if they build on a good block then there is no way to tell the difference between spv mining and regular mining from the outside Can someone explain why 0.9 bitcoind are not safe to use ? Won't they also catch up to the longest chain later ?
They allow invalid blocks.So, if you have 2 chains one with invalid blocks and one without. Bitcoin Core 0.9 would chose the longest block as the right one. Bitcoin Core 0.10.2 would just ignore the chain with the invalid blocks.
Bitcoin always choses blockchain with the most work done (sum of all hashes that were used to create blocks, since genesis block) which is not neccessarily the longest blockchain.
If your running any web based wallet I would not trust any incoming transactions with less then 20 confirmations. Because they could be orphaned by the network. Chines farms are spitting out a lot of trash these days in the hope they will make more money. They don't have the bandwidth to send out even 1mb blocks.

I believe that there aren't any more upgrades I can do to make more gold. I even had one upgrade to many for a short period (26th pickaxe), but now it looks like I'm done on my gold chase.
I do have some more upgrades, like ores, but those I do not need, because there is no market.
So for now, I'm going to upgrade the chambers and the equipment.
16 milion satochi lighter, 0 bitcoins lighter, and waiting for the upgrade, so for now I am going to keep playing.

well is good to know there is a limit on this version ,but im pretty sure the new one wont have it but wont be needed as should be 1 month ranks lol anyway 16 milon satoshi on all upgrades spent wow amazing
with the new one the only resets will be for those who take a prize or thats the latest i've heard about it so some people who don't make it into the prize bracket or keep trying for a higher prize could push the their levels up over a few months

and i use wifi just wifi at nearly the end of it's range it's not the connection speed the current ad's all load fine but the way some of the posts make 2.0 sound like it'll be a lot more resource intensive maybe i'm misunderstanding

something that just occurred to me to ask about is with the new version be playable from a tablet with a spotty connection
sometimes while i'm at work i walk to this one area which i have found to semi reliably pick up the "time warner wifi" signal log into the game and set a round of mining but that only works to my understanding because of the simple graphics and low system overhead

A modification to my earlier idea that i think would make it a bit better have the rewards be based on a gold earned count and only reset that for the winners that way people still get the joy of building higher and higher and the rewards still get distributed to active players while still giving some advantage to long term players but also allowing newer players to win some as well
and perhaps an option to not accept the win this round either passing the win down to the next level in the list or putting the prize back in the pot for the next round but leaving them a better chance to take a higher win posistion in the next round

My idea was that instead of resetting everyone at the end of every 3rd round you reset the winners when they win but the not yet winners do not get reset leaving them high on the list giving them a better chance to win the next round
in this way even mildly active players will over time build their way to the top and win
but more active players will rise to the top more often allowing them to win more rounds than their less active competitors

We do this so that every player has an equal chance at winning, and to prevent the same players from staying in the top 10 list forever. Note that your referrals and Premium Miner membership will not be reset every 3rd round. Referrals are never removed from your account (unless they are banned from the game), and Premium Miner membership will last for the entire duration you ordered.

what exactly will reset and what wont? i'm not much liking this idea the way it sounds ATM though an interesting idea i came up with to diversify the winners each round only reset the winners so those who didn't win have a head start and those who did have to work that much harder to earn their way back to the top this will allow any reasonably active player to win sooner or later while the really active players will win more frequently

Go to start/search and type in: regedit
Just like you would open your cmd
Now browse to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Take a look into those maps and look for anything that you normaly would not have or know on you computer
If needed research what they are.
Delete anything that seems odd and you should be ok
Might need to reboot system, don't know
i'm not the one with the virus i was suggesting someone else had a virus because they said the mybitmine site was making pop windows on their computer when no one else is having the same problem

what was the flaw if you dont mind telling us, since you said market has been shut down figure no harm in telling us. Also whats this a new bitmine? will we loose our current stats or keep them?
It was a flaw on multiple levels. The main flaw was that the amount of resources sold and Gold/BTC earned did not equal. This meant that users were able to sell resources and immediately buy afterwards for a profit. Furthermore, users sold say 1000 iron and got 25,000 gold sometimes less sometimes more.
Also, all stats will be kept. There's a chance that your upgrades are not compatible with the new ones - but you will receive Gold & Resources in return for the upgrades so that you can buy the new ones.
so i have a quick and odd question for the owner / operator of the site. Who is providing the new captcha that we are using. It seems that for the last 4 days has all been anti tabaco campaigns lol. I was just wondering if you getting sponsors from the cancer society?
Haha it's only a temporary captcha for testing the market. I already have another ready for testing and will implement it some time soon for comparison.
I've been getting some pretty annoying popups from this site that happen occasionally when I click anywhere on the page. It leads me to a very malware-looking page that creates almost un-exitable text windows that are kind of difficult to get rid of. Very "click here to fix your PC!" kind of stuff that seems pretty likely that it's only there to infect people with something.
now thats is something i have not got at any point, are you on the same website or did you mean ro post this message on a different forum perhaps?

lol ok i was justwondering about the ads but i hope the new captchas you will use will work without having captcha maintanance for like half a day. I also figured as much on above reply to person when they said pop ups
REpop ups: perhaps you have a computer virus some of those insert code into your browser that make random sites "have pop up ads" sites that really don't but when your computer visits them it acts like they do (just to be clear i'm talking about the computer of the user who see's the pop ups not the server for the site)
So far they seem to be working for me but i do admit i got burned by another site that worked for a few weeks then disappeared so i can't say for sure that April is legit but it is paying out so far after what seems to be at least a month from other posts I've read which is more successful history than I've seen on any other scam so far but all we can do is keep watch and hopefully pull out in time not to lose all we put in

i'm having a really annoying problem. i just bought 1 month of premium mainly for the resource market but when i try to enter it it says "The market is currently disabled". help please?
Yes the Market has been disabled due to a big flaw in the mechanics.
Users were able to exploit the Market to gain more resources & Gold.
It will be disabled until we launch the new MyBitMine

you could have to hit a button to load the captcha to enter it that wouldn't reduce security any and still make my suggestion viable also a timed out captcha just loads the page again without activating the timer so even that's not necessary
Ok.But you do understand you want to cheat the system? Possibly you're not even aware of it but that's how this is going to end, I shall give you an example.
Example (real time application):
My current upgrades are so placed that when I enter a captcha,
I MINE FOR 130MIN.
Apply your suggestion would mean I enter the captcha, wait for the timer to show op and re-enter the captcha once again for the next period.
1MIN online time on the site would result in me being able to MINE FOR +4HOURS.
People would just rape the shit out of the chambers and the site its flow would be disturbed
you misunderstand my suggestion your time would not become 255 min after the second captcha it would again become 130 so your second use of the captch only gained you the 5 min between your first use and the second use back i'm not talking about adding your time on top of the timer but resetting the timer to your full time
the point is that when i'm at work my time online is very eratic sometimes it'll be 20 min between times i can check in and some times it'll be over an hr what i'd like is to be able to do the captcha each time i can get on for a min to keep the mining going as much as i can if i have to wait for the timer to hit 0 i am forced to miss that window of doing it till my next window when ever that is

If not entered within (I think 20-30 sec) the captcha would no longer be accepted and flagged as wrong or a bot
So if you do want to reduce the 'security' of the site this would be the answer, but please do not
