Bitcoin is the big dog in this market. Being the original cryptocurrency + being the one receiving mass media attention + people being fascinated with its growth over the years, has basically put it in the position of being the anchor of this entire market.

Where I'm from you can ask anyone under 30 where to get weed and they will either be able to smoke you out, reference you to their dealer, or if they don't smoke they usually at least know of a dealer or the location of a dispensary. It's incredibly cheap here also! (Although the downfalls of this are that kids start smoking right out of elementary school and get into worse stuff)

Bitcoin in going down mainly it's because BTC along with ETH grew at a crazy rate which means there has to be a correction to find what the market considers to be the new "bottom", level off for a while then start growing again. Rinse and repeat.
