It will most likely become another coin that whales will play with for a while - just because they can, expect some big swings (just my 2 cents worth).

I think this exchange being hacked may have something to do with it:-
https://ethereumworldnews.com/cryptos-dump-as-korean-exchange-coinrail-gets-hacked/

A few hours ago crypto markets plunged losing over 14 billion dollars in just a few hours. At the same time news emerged that South Korean crypto exchange Coinrail had suffered an incursion resulting in the theft of various altcoins.

I moved my admittedly small amount of bitcoin to yobit before their market opened for it and as soon as it opened I was given the same amount in bitcoin gold as I had in BTC. I am not some fanboy of yobit, I had just enough to think it was worth doing and just enough to risk if it all went wrong. Glad to say I did this, within 5 minutes of the BTG market opening it spiked to $970 a coin - I cashed out my small amount at a market price of $750 - not bad for doing nothing.

I am still on POLO most of the time and still hate them for all the reasons everyone else does, but I do like the interface.

Oh and as for the $1 trade thingie said above by dreamer81, then at the time of writing this, BTG is being traded on Yobit for over $300 a coin!

Just an FYI

Got my eth out with no issues, some of it was converted to tokens, but something is better than nothing. I only used them as a mining address and never had more than 1 eth in there at a time, but still very happy to get it back. Considering all the illegal activities of most banks, I think I trust BTCE more than them Smiley

FYI
I sent 0.52 eth to Polo to see if I could trust them, results are in:-
1762 block confirmations
11 hours and 40 mins waiting for it to arrive
nothing showing in my Polo account.
Have been doing this for some years now and never really had these kinds of issues before with Polo, so just sharing my experience. If Polo doesn't sort this kind of thing out, then they will lose a lot of users, it's such a shame, they were so good at one point.

I think Avast and Antivirus / firewall programs may have been a little sensitive to something, as the site is now working again, for me at least.

Might have been some advert or some new website code that antivirus programs didn't like etc.

it's funny the site loads fine and is accessible via my laptop running linux, but both my windows machines with avast running, blocks access and via the laptop - the site seems to be operating like normal. I have read many bad things on Reddit about this exchange - I just hope I can get my tokens out (MGO). This is strange behaviour and it's hard to know for sure who or what platform to trust in the crypto world.

Just as an FYI - I have 5 470rx's in the same rig (xfx, sapphire and msi), tried the new beta blockchain drivers, it was a non starter for me. My drivers (patched), atipixel patcher etc, 6 card patch, but MSI afterburner version I use didn't allow me to set anything and also there seemed something wrong, like the driver hadn't installed properly, even though, everything had and there was no driver issues in device manager etc. So went back to 16.11.5-Nov25 which works great for me. All running on WIN 7 64bit.

Just an FYI

How can the department of justice, take my money and then call it justice, when I paid for the electric to mine it, call that justice because I don't.

quote from the above linked article
"Innocence is not a defense. Most of BTC-e’s clients are clearly innocent, yet the indictment’s wording reflects the authorities’ view that all users are criminals."
