dont forget win 8.1 network detection!

reproducable everytime!

not a problem with my rig.

I understand, but I have tested it and I am not able to reproduce a BSOD when mining on 8.1 without a network connection. You have also posted in this thread at least once before that about receiving BSODs after mining for extended periods.

BSODs are not caused by user space software like MultiMiner. They are caused by hardware or kernel space drivers. If you want to troubleshoot any of the BSODs you are encountering there are steps on Google for doing so, e.g.:

http://www.networkworld.com/reviews/2013/041513-windows8-crash-268274.html?page=1

yah im not having the issue since i have net on lol :-)

so not worth looking into IMHO.

yes it does come up as ati dll error.

but nope i fixed every source of BSOD i was having before. i guess its just a matter of finfing the stable versions......some of your versions got me sometimes.... but yes i found the versions it likes.

yep, ill save a few coins for you and send em your way :-)

tnx

MultiMiner version 2.6.2 is available. This is a bug fix release that addresses issues on some more exotic setups:

  • Fixed error launching with Network Device Discovery enabled on Linux - ObjectDisposedException
  • Fixed error enabling MultiMiner Remoting on Windows Server 2012 - Null reference
  • Fixed error registered instance via MultiMiner Remoting - InvalidOperationException
  • Fixed error launching app with no network connection on Linux - SocketException
  • Fixed error refreshing statistics from Network Devices - Null reference
  • Handling added for displaying Dogecoin information whether DOG or DOGE is used

dont forget win 8.1 network detection!

reproducable everytime!

not a problem with my rig.

i see alot of items fixed up there with net discovery etc. :-)

ok sorry i wont bring this up again :-)

its real.

based on my experience on running the stock cards BEFORE i watercooled, you CAN overheat the cards resulting in a shutdown condition by doing a restart from the mobileminer.

try it, and youll c what happens!!

this is if u set your AMD settings to max of 95 C, youll easily hit 98 C or more by doing a mobileminer restart. watch out!!

I'm sorry to hear you ran into issues and glad you found solutions. However, restarting mining in MobileMiner simply stops and then starts mining in MultiMiner. Nothing more or less.

yes exactly :-) its not the software thats doing anything wrong.

im just saying if you want to do a restart on the stock r9 290 from mobileminer, do a stop. wait 5 min. then do start.

otherwise youll overtemp past 95 and bluescreen, lockup and shutdown.

actually a restart with a time delay in between the stop and start may be nice too.

heheheh nwools is a hard working guy, and he considers every suggestion!! :-)

Hi guys,

I use Multiminer with my r9 290s on win7.

Should I add something like --temp overheat -- to my Scrypt or Multiminer will do it without my help when my cards are overheated?

im running 6 R9 290's on 2 boxes (watercooled) on win 7 and win 8.1

based on my experience on running the stock cards BEFORE i watercooled, you CAN overheat the cards resulting in a shutdown condition by doing a restart from the mobileminer.

try it, and youll c what happens!!

this is if u set your AMD settings to max of 95 C, youll easily hit 98 C or more by doing a mobileminer restart. watch out!!

my suggestion?

to get the max benefits of the card goto watercooling, try ekwb solution. its cheap and they have a great block for the card!

hacking the card is easy.

the r9 290 is a great card, too bad the supply of unlocked cards dried up!!

the 1st card i got i was able to unlock it and the 290 that i paid 399 for became a 290x !!!! (that one runs 820k/sec scrypt.

so both ofm y boxes together watercooled run maximum rates.

a 290 is good for about 760k, a 290x is good for 820k, without overlocking.

i get about 4.6 M on 2 boxes nice and watercooled :-)

i recommend u push pull the radiator fans, and use cooler master jetflo 120 CFM fans on them........ make sure u use a 12 volt connector too. runs nice and cool all day and all night :-)

when u dont have inet connection and u press start u get a bluescreen!!

Never seen this - or a BSOD for that matter any time recently.

Time to stop using XP!  Cheesy

Cheesy heheheh

nope thats win 8.1 :-)

and i can reproduce it everytime with the inet cable unplugged.

1 more suggestion,

how about creating a backup of the config files? (xml files)...??
so if any of them r corrupt, it loads the backup.

that way it can always start!!!

i found a bug to fix... this ones easy.

ok to fix BSOD with long running BFGminers (1 day or soo), i went to the features in advanced settings "restart miner every hour".

it works!!!

my miners no longer goto zero hashrate or cause BSOD.

im very happy with this feature.

however, just an anomoly.

when i manually stop the miners, the timer doesnt stop, cause the next restart will be an hour away from the original start, and not my manual start.

thanks!! love the software

ie:

1st start

7:35
8:35 (restart)
9:35 (restart)

(manual stop at 10:10)

(manuallu click start at 10:20)

10:35 (restart by the feature) insteaf of at 11:20

thanks :-)

-run everything as a service
-access properties served up from webpages.... ie: a web ui. i see ur already using C# to write it......

just a thought. :-)

i am tempted to do it myself.

1st off, thanks for the great software! especially the source code.... it is great to customize it.

however on stock version 2.3 it blue screens when pressing stop button everytime!!

i had to roll back to 2.2.8, which works bug free.

blue screen is an ati error.

tnx

havent bothered to look in dumps or event log since i solved the issue by rolling back
