I was online tuning the pool when the forking mess started last night and I resynced the pool's daemon to what apparently was the correct fork of the block chain. We had 0 orphans through the entire mess and all our miners received excellent payouts while the rest of the pools were on other forks. I think it pays to be paying attention but luck also helps a lot probably.

I am glad you are happy with bitops, we will remain at the current fee amount despite other pools going 0%, because we have provided a high quality service & owning and hosting an actual dedicated physical server does cost money. We will continue expanding our pool service to a larger servers and more coins as long as there is demand. if you would like a new coin added to the bitops.me pool plz PM me but for now we will continue focusing on GHC, despite the fud and trolling going on here!

Thanks, I compiled that revision, but for some reason I'm still not able to sync to the network. I have all node IPs in this thread in my conf, and am certainly no stranger to running coin daemons for a pool server. Every node the daemon tries to connect to results in "connect() failed after select(): Connection refused" in the debug log

Hoping to join the network tomorrow when there's a working linux daemon!

Can you please update the github source so we can build the wallet? I'd like to get LTCD added to the bitops.me pool.

I can also run a public node, but the compiled daemon from the git repo will not sync...

For anyone having issues getting their wallet to sync, here is a link to a working peers.dat file: http://bitops.me/static/peers.dat

To use the file, download it, then find your Lightspeed data folder. On Windows it will normally be c:\users\(yourusername)\AppData\Roaming\Lightspeed

Close your wallet, then delete the peers.dat file that is in your LSD data folder. Copy or move the one you downloaded from the link above into that folder, and restart the wallet. If you still cannot sync, be sure you have a file called lightspeed.conf in that same folder, and that it contains the following text:

addnode=192.155.89.136
addnode=74.118.157.93

Then restart the wallet again.

If you STILL cannot sync, then close the wallet application, delete everything in the Lightspeed folder *EXCEPT* wallet.dat, lightspeed.conf, and peers.dat, then restart the Lightspeed wallet.

DO NOT DELETE YOUR WALLET.DAT

Long time trader/lurker on the scene. Finally want to jump in here and offer my 0.02 btc...

Nothing wrong with discussing and speculating on price/market movement, but I believe I speak for a large number of VIA followers when I say all of that is superbly shortsighted considering the real world potential this coin has. What the team has done and continues to do in terms of development and "big picture" vision, with maturity and humility, is commendable to say the least. Viacoin is easily one of the greatest advancements in crypto.

Bottom line: keep up the good work, team. You're nimble and progressive in ways the current BTC bureaucracy is incapable of at present. Cheers!
