Take into consideration the airflow reduction in any filter medium you use.  Also consider how much filter surface area you need in order to accommodate your CFM rate.

Pocket filters are best for high airflow environments.  Most air filters will state in fpm.

Example from Google:
Select air filter dimensions (length, width, thickness). 2. Calculate airflow velocity in linear ft./min. using air volume rating of fan in cfm divided by surface area of air filter in sq. ft. (i.e. 200 cfm./0.50 sq. ft. = 400 fpm)

If your CFM is higher than the capacity of the filters they will loose efficiency and essentially stop filtering.  The more the discrepancy the more they don't work.

Most people vastly underestimate how much filter surface area they need for a bitcoin mine.

Also consider the added resistance the filters add when considering fan size / quantity.

Used miner consignment by GrayMatter Industries
by
graymatter
on 21/09/2019, 16:21:48 UTC
Looking to sell your miners but don’t have the time or resources to do it?

GrayMatter Industries is now offering consignment as a service. We can receive, store, refurbish, and sell used miners on your behalf.

Many underestimate the complexities when it comes to turning over used equipment. Do all of your units work? Are they covered in dirt from running in a shipping container for the last year? People buying used miners want good running units, who wouldn’t? Our staff will test every unit to verify good working order. Units that need it will be cleaned and have necessary parts replaced to ensure its in the best possible shape when it goes up for sale. This gets you the most money for your used units and avoids angry buyers who would otherwise get dirty miners not running at optimal performance.

Take advantage of our established Ebay, Amazon, Newegg, and website presence. We have years of experience buying, and selling mining equipment and have the contacts, reputation, and capabilities to make your next equipment turnover a breeze.

Re: S9i with driver-bitmain.c:5474: Error of set PIC FLASH...
by

on 05/10/2018, 00:02:38 UTC
This issue has been bugging me for some time...

I finally fixed one (by chance?) today. What I did was unplug the chain/board giving the error, flashed the same firmware through the web "Upgrade" page, let it boot, then plugged the board back in and rebooted. Full hash now.

So strange Huh

This worked for me on 2 units.  Unplugged all but one board then reflashed the firmware.  plugged boards back in and worked.

Kraken has denied me access to my account for almost 2 months now.

First it was randomly locked and i was told i needed to provide verification in order to have it unlocked.  I provided the information as requested and have since been ignored for the last 5 weeks.  I've filed complaints with the BBB and FTC.  The BBB has come back with "no response from the company".  It appears they have stolen approximately $6k worth of crypto from me.  I am now in the process of seeking legal council on the matter.

Please let this be a very real warning to anyone considering doing business with them.

[WTS] BFL Monarchs 500gh-700gh (thousands of them)
by
graymatter
on 17/12/2017, 20:45:59 UTC
We have a warehouse full of Monarchs that need to find new homes.  There are approximately 4,000 of them.  Most are 500gh models but there are 700gh ones mixed in.  Because of the volume we are unable to separate them so, assume all units being sold are 500gh.

About half are on sleds, the other half are not.

A portion of the units with sleds will be sold through our website miningrigs.net.  Those will be sold 3 to a box for $180 + shipping and will be available soon.

The larger majority will be sold in bulk with 200 to a pallet (sledless) @ $25 per unit.  Please contact sales@miningrigs.net for details and freight quote.

If you're interested in the lot let us know and we can make a deal.

There are also power supplies that will be available.  More information on those coming soon.

Re: The original Gray Matter GPU Server Case. Starting from $299
by
graymatter
on 13/03/2017, 18:22:58 UTC
Do I understand it correctly that the case pictured above is actually $499, and the economy case is the one that retails for $299?

Yep saw that too.

This is noob marketing because it turns people off because individuals are essentially being misled.

"Starting at $299" and showing a picture of the 499$ model. The 299$ model is a shell with nothing. Might as well buy your own server chassis for 80$.

Nobody is being misled, unless you're the kind of sap that goes to the car dealership expecting the fully loaded model for the promo rate...

The ECON is functionally the same as V3.0, where V3.0 has some extra features and comes ready to go.

Most miners already have most if not all of the accessory parts and are looking for an easy conversion from the milk crate they're already running in.

299$ is a bit expensive and didn't help for ROI but is a really nice case.

I also like your S7 / S9 shell ( I visited the website ), best mining setup I saw so far. +1 for that  Grin

Thanks, our focus has been primarily industrial mining and budget password cracking and rendering groups.  A home miner can easily put together a gpu rig frame for less than $100, but when your talking hundreds of gpu rigs you need something a little more organized.
