Re: what is the safest altcoin to invest in the coming year?
by
greply
on 20/12/2017, 10:53:01 UTC
I think there are a number of coins that are going to have a good year in 2018. However, safest alts at the moment are probably those already mentioned (XRP, Litecoin, Dash, etc) as they have good price, volume, community, exposure and dev teams.

Definitely important to do your own research and find projects that will have lasting value.

Your choices are good.

If you are wanting to perhaps find some "diamonds in the rough", what I've been doing lately is going back and looking at coins that had ICOs about 5-7 months ago and seeing how they are doing in terms of their roadmaps.

Some projects with ICOs around this range seem to be nearing mainnet launches and reaching other milestones as they've had some time to work on their offerings. Given their progress and the current nature of the market, these could offer some really nice growth in the short to medium term if that's what you are looking for.

Re: Why ICOs will fail in 2018
by
greply
on 18/12/2017, 10:14:32 UTC
I'm not sure I understand why so many believe ICOs will be less popular in 2018. Yes, 2017 saw a lot of ICOs, but many have been successful and many have failed - that is the nature of start-ups (which is essentially what ICOs are). I think what people here are forgetting is that ICOs are still businesses - they have founders, employees, a product or service (either real or conceptual), income, expenses etc. The only difference between an ICO-funded start-up and a venture capital-backed startup is the source of the funding. There are blockchain-based startups that are not funded through ICOs but rather through angel investors and the sort.

The only way for ICOs to die - besides a regulatory crackdown - would be for investors to stop buying into them. And given the potential returns of investing in these ICOs, I think it is very unlikely all investors will cease participating.

The bad side of bitshares is the delisting from Bittrex. This kind of things are always undermine the trust of investors and the community. Moreover I don't like their business model but it's only my personal opinion.

I agree that the delisting from Bittrex can definitely cause investors to question the validity of the project. However, BTS is still traded on Binance and Polo so it does at least still have a couple of well-known exchanges that support its markets.

A friend told me about Power Ledger and it seems to be a pretty good project with a good team behind it. Had a recent pump so not sure how much room there is for short term profit but could be a hold and see.

What's your opinion of Lampix?

Hi all! Just curious what you all think of the Lampix (PIX) project? I haven't invested but am wondering if it could be a good one to get into. The technology itself is really cool, but I'm not as convinced by the intended use of the blockchain for the project.

Any thoughts?

Re: Hottest ico december

It's a holding time for me.
Most of the ICO's are failing to sell over ICO price when entering the market. Bitcoin price is still surging. Multiple bans on ICOs.
I'm waiting till 2018.

Agreed. There are a number of ICOs that fail to reach their goal and then tend to trade below ICO price. I'm also seeing a lot of them with a starting price above $1/coin which I think is excessive for what is usually an unproven and/or undeveloped product or service.

INS ecosystem starts in a couple of days. I’ve been keeping an eye on it as they seem to have a solid team. But at a ratio of 1 USD to 1 INS it might be a little pricey for me.

Re: Buy BTC from a FIAT loan!!
by
greply
on 01/12/2017, 09:51:31 UTC
That is a terrible idea for several reasons.

Bitcoin is extremely volatile, and this means that there is a wide spread, and any future price rise needs to cover this for both the buying and the selling.
The price of Bitcoin is being manipulated, and it may go down for a sustained period, or shoot up to provide quick profits. Buying Bitcoin is a long term investment in my opinion. Trading the coin is extremely risks.
13% is far too high a rate for a loan, you should be able to get one for 2-4%
You should never borrow money for high risk speculation such as Bitcoin.

I couldn't agree with this more. There is a common saying that I'm sure we've all heard but it couldn't be more true, especially in this situation: Only invest what you can afford to lose.

I would suggest if you are wanting to get into the market, either do it with a lower amount that you can afford or (as has been suggested) wait and save up until you have what you think is a suitable amount and then invest.

If there is one that you can rely on in crypto investing/trading it's that there will always be another pump and another dump. The market is highly volatile and highly influenced by major players who make the market hard to predict for us average investors.

Once the mainnet is launched in early 2018, the tokens in bounty/investor dashboard would be available for withdrawing.

Thanks for the clarification! I'll keep an eye out for further info on the withdrawal process from the team Smiley

Where did my 955 EON Token go ? Is there any problem with the bounty dashbord ?  This situation frightened me. I hope someone can explain what happened.

Edit Opss sorry i saw now where they are. They are in bounty dashboard.

just refresh again the page , it happen always to me

He is in the ICO dashboard, if he clocked that BOUNTY  DASHBOARD, I'm sure his tokens will be there. 955  is a lot. How  much are you selling your account?
Your email and your user name doesn't match like you treat that email as your  own, if you will sell your account how much will it be?

Are you planning to buy some bounty account mate? And how much can uou offer if you wanna buy it though? Im planning to sell mine.

If you are selling your account along with your email, I'm offering $40 in BTC for that 955. That's just my offer, you can take it or not. I also have some EON myself in my account but I just want to add more to my stash. If I can't have them while its still not release then maybe I can just wait till its on the market.

$40 FOR 955 EON  Grin
what a great deal  Grin Grin Grin

what is that? just under a quarter each?

is this price consistent with the expectations of the project which he put in the beginning of the year. the project is developing and needs to get a price, but you need to hurry the competitors do not sleep.

Hey guys! Just wondering, is there someplace where they will tell how we can claim our tokens from the bounty dashboard or how that will work? I see the stakes in my bounty dashboard but just wondering how we will get them out/when it will happen. Thanks!

Re: Bitcoin Diamond??

As has been mentioned, forking Bitcoin blockchain is just a new trend that was born out of something that was originally done in an earnest attempt to improve the future of the technology. However, once the price of one forked coin skyrocketed, people saw it as an opportunity to make money. It's really the wild west out here right now lol.

Alot of ICO coming up this days, I advice you DYOR, good to hear peoples opinion and advice,Modex and  Bitclave is the rave of the moment, hope to raise fiat to get the two coin, you can check out there whitepaper.

100% correct! DYOR is the most important when it comes to deciding which ICOs to invest in. Getting opinions on a forum is a good a good way to hear about ICOs, but people should not invest until they have learned more about the tech, team and timeline.

æternity CTO leaves project
by
greply
on 24/11/2017, 14:15:35 UTC
After a promising month for æternity, their CTO Joel Reymont announced today through his Twitter account that he would no longer be the project's CTO. News of his departure seems to have shaken investors with the price of AE dropping almost 25% since the announcement.

There has been no official word from æternity on this news, but they will need to make some sort of rebuttal soon to avoid a continued run on the price as investors worry what will come next.

Any thoughts?

Re: How to DEAL with FUD's

The best way to deal with FUD is to use your common sense and do your research. Don't listen to some random person in the Troll Box - get your information from official sources that are verified by the coin's team members. Listening to anyone else is likely just speculation/opinion.

Re: If bitcoin loses all its value what will happen to altcoins ?
by
greply
on 21/11/2017, 11:52:29 UTC
As a few others have said here, I think it depends on the reasons behind Bitcoin losing its value. If it's because of the technological limitations, then that could help some of the more advanced alts thrive. However, if it's because major institutions begin to cool off from the technology or governments begin banning it, then that will have far reaching implications for the crypto world as a whole.

Do you think there will be a correction of the cost to 5-6k?

A correction of that size (5k) would require some decently bad news I think. For example, the last dip to 5500 was when the 2x fork was called off. Small price dips down to 7000-7500 are more likely over the coming days IMO.

Definitely a crazy year for BTC. Tbh I was skeptical at the beginning of this year that anything over $4k was possible. however, after being proven completely wrong and seeing how unpredictable the market can really be, I must say that $10k or higher is completely fathomable.
