I have 8GB of memory for mining rig. in order to pass I-13 u need to have at least 8GB if not then u will get HW error or Error -4.

I'm running 8GB too

How do you choose the best TC for your card? Also I've been getting a lot of hw errors, but I lowered the Intensity, the HW errors stop, but my hash is low I was getting 200khash on scrypt, but only 22khash with no hw errors on N

What card are you using?

6850 its my personal pc wanted to get more hash going to my mining setup

I have a 6870 getting 145 -155 with the following settings.  vertminer o.5.3

color 0D
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

vertminer.exe --scrypt-vert  -o stratum+tcp://gpu.oakpool.com:3355 -u yourminername -p yourpassword  --thread-concurrency 6721  --lookup-gap 0 --gpu-engine 900 --gpu-memclock 1000 -w 64 -I 14 -g 1
pause

I spent a lot of time fooling with concurrency settings to get reasonable speed.

How did you choose the numbers for TC??
For normal scrypt, TC can usually go up to Twice your GPU's shader count (i think). But with Scrypt-N it needs to be lower. Usually 8000 or 8192 works on scrypt, but you might want to google up the various settings that could be used and try them all to see what gives you best result.

Anything lower than about 22000 on these cards with scrypt-n seems to throw out hundreds of HW errors for some reason.

They were suggested by someone else on here.

,
"intensity" : "18",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"gpu-engine" : "950",
"gpu-memclock" : "1250",
"thread-concurrency" : "20481",
"expiry" : "30",
"gpu-threads" : "1",
"scan-time" : "1"
}

this is my setting. I did not overclocked a lot. I got at least 420 kh/s on both of my card. that is good for me.

And that hash value is for vert miner, what card are you using and model num

dual xfx 290 (non x). I am using vertminer for it. ref xfx 290 ( with one fan).

Intensity - 18
Worksize - 512 on 3 x MSI and 256 on 2 x Powercolor
Lookup Gap - 2
Engine - 1010
Memclock - 1500 on MSI and 1450 on Powercolor
Expiry - 30
Threads - 1
Thread Concurrency - 25500 on MSI and 24450 on Powercolor

Now you mention it, it wasn't a fresh install, I upgraded the version of windows 7 I was using as I had problems installing certain AMD drivers on a previous try using Windows 8.1.

Hopefully someone might have an easy fix for this!

Been mining GPU Coin since its release, R9 290 x 4 with no problems on Windows 7. Hashing at 450 per card. Went to install a 5th card so decided to use Windows 8 to avoid problems recognizing more than 4 cards. Miner starts fine but within an hour cards start showing up DEAD or SICK! Same settings as in Windows 7 which had no problems for days!

Any ideas?
