Bitcointalk is number one platform and also telegram. I use YouTube a lot, not necessarily to promote cryptocurrency but to learn from others who are in it. A lot of people aslo use Facebook and Twitter to promote especially if they are in bounty campaigns.

Yes it is a good idea to become knowledgeable in cryptocurrency before you start investing and even joining in bounty campaigns, but you can always learn more through your experiences with the market. My advice to the new people that are joining in on cryptocurrency is to research what it is and what it means to the future of the economy and to also speak with others who have experience and learn from them as well.

Re: Is there any fast and easy money here in cryptocurrency?

Sadly there is not a quick and easy way to make money with cryptocurrency. With investing and trading it takes a while for there to be profit. In bounty campaigns it takes a while and quite a bit of work for you to make money from them. Cryptocurrency is just about having patience and being wise with what you are investing your time and energy in.
After my 2 years in the cryptocurrency space, after all the panics at the beginning(first few months) of my investment journey, you simply kinda just get used to it. A huge factor is also that even though I invested a significant amount, if ever my crypto investments go to zero(even if it's kinda almost impossible), I would still have a place to live in and have enough money for food and to start over.
A bull market right now would be really nice, though..
I agree with your statement that one key to being able to "stomach" the low drops in the market is to be comfortable with the amount of money that we have invested in. Losing time and energy is not as bad as losing a significant amount of money. We have to invest with the mentality that we will be okay still if we lose X amount of money.

I am sure that in time the amount of energy used for mining in bitcoin will somehow effect governements decisions towards it. However, there has to be a way to help save that energy so that miners can make their money while using the tools required to do so. Just like how engineers are inventing ways for the mass production of cars to be more environmentally friendly.

Re: Good business is a business that begins, not questioned continuously
Many people in this world are always questioning this, what is a good business? Well, good business is a business that begins, rather than being questioned because the hard thing in doing business is to walk to the first ladder. If we do not start a single step, we will never get to the top. Just as with trading, or investing in cryptocurrency, without trying and starting investing in it, you will not know how much profit you get, and how much experience you will receive if the market is down. Remember that experience is the best teacher.
I understand where you are coming from in the sense that if you want to start a business then you need to just begin instead of continuously stewing on it and never beginning in the first place. However, I think in life we are suppose to question everything so that we truly understand why we believe something to be the way that it is. It's how we continue to grow and adapt to be better individuals and therefore better inventors and so forth.
I see in telegram that bounty campaign is ended, can signatures be removed?

Re: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT RE-BRANDING
by

It seems that normally it's fairly pointless as a task. I do not think that a new brand is greatly going to change the fortunes of a coin within the crypto space. If the fundamentals are solid then it should be a success, if they're not then they should focus their attention on that instead of on changing the name and logo.

Re: Ripple excellent company, but time to sell my XRP?
Just look at the chart in 2017. Ripple priced increased x20 in may and june, then decreased to its previous prices. Then started increasing in december and reached its previous all time high in January. I expect it will decrease closer to the start point, because this is what happens every time.
This is what happens every time until the time that it doesn't happen. As is always the case when trying to draw conclusions from the past.
Ripple's pricing at this stage is just dependent on the whole market. If the market continues to slide then XRP will continue to slide and could eventually go back to the 20-30c region it was in for some time. If the market recover it will quickly move back to $2 and more.
There's this transaction where somebody clearly made a mistake. The fee was 291BTC, meaning 136k USD at that day, now worth more than 3M USD and I think that it was not refunded. Some of the story is here.
I'd never heard about this one before. That's really quite absurd. I'm not sure how the person that did it could not have read the news that they would refund him? I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't want a refund because it has to be a mistake. Imagine if that was the one block that some random lucky guy hit instead of a big mining pool

Re: Ripple excellent company, but time to sell my XRP?
From what I have seen today, I will be Holding on to it, and decide what to do. I can not believe that listing on Coinbase could make so much of a difference to the price, many seem to overlook the values of the project etc, but I guess when I first got into crypto that was what first drew me in too. I think that XRP is destined at the moment to be pumped only by adding to Coinbase, so when it happens that will be my que to shift it!
Being added to coinbase is huge because then you can reach all of the investors who really have little idea what they're doing or what they're investing in. Ripple is perfect for them because they're the guys who will simply overlook all of the things that are wrong with ripple and think 'lambo'
If $500 returned $10k in 18 months, would that be a good return or is it too good to be true....
Let's start with this, it's possible but not all that likely. There will be many who have achieved that but you'd have to hold a fairly risky portfolio, it's unlikely if you hold major coins like bitcoin/eth.
What would you consider a reasonable return on your investment after 12 to 18 months (your investment is locked for 18 months with no access to it)? Minimum investment would be $500...
Anything greater than 0 is reasonable. Over 18 months I would personally aim for about a 5x return. As I said above, more is possible and as is less. The more risk averse you are the less likely you are to achieve big results. For a new investor I would recommend BTC, ETH and maybe 2-3 other currencies of your choosing. Once you've wet your feet you can be a little more risky in your choices.

It's only logical to assume you invest in order to make money, or else you'd effectively be giving to charity and most people aren't in a position to do that. BUT... If you don't believe in the underlying technology backing up your investment then why would you invest, that would make your expectation for your investment negative.

Re: The s&p500 is primed for a correction, BTC ATH will follow
Lol, you are only fooling yourself. Bitcoin is a valueless speculative asset like everything else in the "everything bubble". The everything bubble deflating takes down all valueless speculative assets with it. If there is a flight to safety, it's to gold and silver, NOT speculative pump and dump, imaginary tokens like bitcoin.
Wrong. Gold and silver will be confiscated as soon as you try to leave your country if it gets really ugly and you need to reach for safer grounds, rendering you an idiot as the government steals your hard earned money.
Meanwhile Bitcoin users will be fleeing anywhere they want with their wealth intact from the hands of the confiscator.
Why are goldbugs so stupid to not see this simple fact?
Gold and Silver are fairly useless assets in that regard, you can't exactly keep them hidden away or transport them very easily.
If money was going to flow out of the S&P it would go in to bonds and such if people want safe assets.

Where does the figure of $4k-$6k come from? For many across the world that would still be a large investment. In fact I think the majority of the world's population would not invest that much.
This is completely not true, the only difference is psychological. It does not matter if you buy 0.01 btc at a price of 100k or 1btc at a price of 1k. The gains are measured in the percentage growth.

It all comes down to what correlation there is between investments in to stocks and in to crypto. You can make arguments both ways, such as that if investment flows out of one it may do so also the other as fear spreads across markets, alternatively you can make the argument that it will flow out of stocks and in to crypto.

It's the classic boom and bust cycle that near everything follows. The only thing now is I feel that bitcoin's busts will be far more rapid and sharp in nature. To my mind that's a good thing because we will reach the higher values quicker with such a case.

As crypto continues to grow, which seems more likely than not then a large majority of the currencies will grow, XRP and NXT will likely be part of that, be patient and in time their prices will be back up.
Which coins are you now using for day trading and how much profit you are getting on daily basis
When I look to day trade I for the large majority stick to coins that I believe in for the long term, that way I can always hold them if the market moves against me in the short term. My number 1 for now is XVG.

Re: Price stability-The end of trading between platforms
This is what actually happening and leading to the destroyed trades like that. Yeah, there were many coins apart form he bitcoin which we use to trade on the intra-exchangers so that we can grab the quick profit margin earlier but now everything looks fading to me. There was time when the transaction fee was almost nothing and confirmations were instant but with the increase in the prices everything is collapsing and to be honest thats taking out the fun out of it!
Nice observation by the way and hoping that such volatility might just come back soon as the prices are gearing up themselves and the fees are getting reduced. Im not sure if I remembered it correctly but did this happen after the segwit2x launch? Because that was the chain which splitter the whole thing and caused this stability.
I have to say I disagree, I think that high confirmation times and high fees are what allow for there to be disparity in prices across different exchanges. With low fees and low confirmation times arbitrage becomes much easier and more profitable and so it pushes the prices towards parity.
