Hi gurghet,

Unfortunately we do not accept Bitcoin at the moment, and this is
unlikely to change this calendar year unless PayPal Website Payments
Pro starts accepting Bitcoin.

Regards,
Mike

Now I’m asking why should any merchant in their right mind wait for paypal to accept bitcoin? If there is an application for bitcoin, that is cutting the middle man. I agree, Paypal accepting bitcoins would be huge, but from the point of view of the single merchant, what is the gain? They would still have to pay a fee to Paypal, and for what?? Paypal is not bringing them new clients, bitcoin is! Furthermore, if they accepted bitcoins straight away, they would gain more as they wouldn't be forced to pay a fee to Paypal.

Hey guys,

I've been trying to keep it in, but I saw this thread and couldn't hold it. So I have to at least mention, I have recently thought of a way and started implementing it that will make it easy and appealing for mass adoption of bitcoin. I've been a fanatic since last november and I feel like I know soo much about bitcoin, yet I'm learning more and more each day. But yea, I'll cut my rant short, but just wanted to let you guys know I'm working on something that might bring bitcoin in the limelight and at those times I will need all the evagalists to come support the cause (if they choose to see it how I see it - that mass adoption and acceptance of bitcoin is the only way we can run towards a world where bitcoin is accepted everywhere).

Thanks
A believer
So you think we could converge or...?

I personally just toke my master degree with a thesis about bitcoins.
Like yeah, dude.
It’s actually a thesis about building a new decentralized market that, unlike open bazaar, can actually be controlled by democratically elected admins and moderators. It’s a very cool work but in it’s early stages, looks very promising nonetheless.

Hello everyone, we are 2 computer engineers and I personally just toke my master degree with a thesis about bitcoins. Before that (3 months ago) I thought at first bitcoin was some kind of scam, then a game for nerds, but now that I really know what this is all about I can’t believe what I was missing.
Well, since I started understanding what bitcoins are I think I’ve become a fairly good evangelist. I convinced my family and friends to invest in bitcoin, and taught how they work. It’s been tough because right now the system is in it’s infancy but I’m very determined. I figured that, with my friend we could actually go out actively just for the purpose of spreading knowledge about bitcoin and enable SMEs to actually accept bitcoins, pay their employees in bitcoins etc... We want also want to check if bitcoin stakeolders are actually interested in this and want to invest some money on us.
One of the many things we’d like to do (as suggested by Franco Cimatti) is give people some fiat money up front in exchange for their involvement in the project, this money is actually to buy bitcoin from them... but they haven’t any! So they would feel compelled to earn those bitcoins whit their businesses, to keep the fiat. If the bicoin is bullish tho, they are going to realize they are giving more bitcoin than what we paid for initially. The point of all this would be only to familiarize and involve enterprise owners obviously, but this is just one idea.
So we are soon to set up a little non-profit and we will collect people and ideas (and hopefully money!) to carry out this project. Want to hear from you guys.

Hey, I'm an Italian student currently writing a master thesis on the bitcoin protocol. As I'm reading the technical articles I noticed that some of them (namely those about the satoshi client) are out of date and I would like to update them. I have 0 money tho. What do?
