Just by using your phone, you could purchase almost anything. No need to withdraw on an atm. No more heavy coins on your pocket. Paying bills, and purchasing tickets without standing on a line. Very convenient and less time consuming. I know we're already using credit cards right now, but using a single currency like bitcoin world wide could really help on transaction, having less error than the normal and faster transfer and of course the security. Do you guys think this could happen in the future of bitcoin?
This is already happening with the help of credit cards. Since credit cards do not require you to have any internet connection or charge in any device, it is more convenient.

Bitcoin is really a boon to the middle class as it is completely transparent. Otherwise most of the businesses are dominated by rich and powerful who have laws in their favor.

The recent update is that Indian exchanges have went against the decision of RBI in high court. It is possible that court may reverse the decision made by RBI.

You should not ignore that bitcoin is searched less but other coins like ETH are gaining more searches. So crypto is still in demand and I think it will only grow in future.

Re: So mining is apparently only profitable if btc is over $8600
Morgan Stanley say bitcoin mining only profitable above 8600 dollars. I'm not sure this is correct though, especially if future valuations come anywhere close to fruition.
This is not true for every individual as the mining expenses vary from place to place. It mainly depends on the cost of electricity you are using.
Now all the markets are crashing down and I don't know what to do with my altcoins. My briefcase fell 30% in a couple of days. I'm afraid I might lose more. Selling or hodl?
Many people are on the same boat as you including me. I invested some money in Ripple when it was $1 and now it is about $0.6, so I am in also significant loss.

Re: Are there any altcoins that are independent to Bitcoin?

I think all coins are affected by news related to bitcoins and with decrease in prices of bitcoins, price of these coins also falls. However, with coins like monero that got demand in specific groups, you can see different behavior.
With BTC in such a strong uptrend atm, are you buying altcoins right now? A lot of them are kind of 'cheap' and have been falling while BTC have been increasing.
Yes, I am investing some money on alt coins but it is only for deiversifation. I have invested in coins like ETH and ripple only which are not that risky.
What is the best methods to protect altcoin from hacker?
Invest only in a reputed exchange that is using all security measures to protect the holdings of investors. Recently, in India hackers stole bitcoins worth 20 crore from coinsecure exchange.
I here and see that a lot of people are selling their altcoins for this reason or for that reason. In some cases I here that people are even spending their altcoins to buy Bitcoin. Now that one really has me confused. To me it's way to early to be selling your altcoins. It's like selling an original painting before it even gains in value or while it is still gaining in value. What smart investor does that unless they are selling out of fear or because they are desperate. For me I am holding all of my coins for now because it is way to early to even think about selling your altcoins; what say you?
So tell me, why are you selling your altscoins so soon?
People are selling in loss because:
1) They fear that the value may drop further and thus they will have to bear more loss.
2) New investors invest money hoping that there will be no loss. When they see prices dropping they start panicking.
150 ETH OR 9.5 BTC? Almost worth the same value now, but which one is better for holding untill DEC 2018?
Why not half of both, this way you can diversify. The investment we are talking about here is huge and it is better to eliminate risks to remain on the safe side.
Can you help me in understanding bitcoins , the ecosystem , origin and how it really works. I tried to find them but information is available in bits and pieces so looking forward for your help in it.
Thanks, Gaurav
Bitcoin is an online virtual currency. It was started by an unknown person refereed to as Satoshi Nakamoto and it works on block chain technology.
Viewed from your chart it's only from March April, You should see from chart / graphic bitcoin movement every year, almost forming the same pattern, I'm sure pattern will be repeated this year certainly rise at the end of this year. Indeed, predicting bitcoin value is quite difficult because of different causes can be due to bitcoin trend, demand & supply, negative Issue of bitcoin, world government policy, etc. hopefully at the end of this year runs the same as the end of last year
Tons of people cherry pick charts to push what they want to see or what they expect, truth is Bitcoin doesn't follow charts reliably it does what it wants.
I am also not much fan of these chats and graphs. I think the demand is based on human behavior and it cannot be show with charts accurately.

Re: Crypto Traders Would Soon Pay Tax in India

Will they collect taxes for past transactions ? It does not mention any separate tax and this means that you have pay it like normal tax bracket.
What do you guys think it would happen if all the governments in the world declared bitcoin to be illegal? How do you think the community would react? What could be the possible solutions?
No , you cannot do anything if your country bans bitcoins completely. You may move to another country where it is allowed or operate with the help of a friend there.
Guys i think our wish is now officially granted seeing all green like this makes me so happy, Glad that i invest some of my savings into Bitcoin, i'm excited to see the price Up to 10k+ by the end of the month.
Yes, now it should easily reach $10000 by the end of this month. I also invested some money when it was $11000 and thus I will have to wait longer for it to recover to that level.

Re: Why Media is negative about Bitcoin?

Media is concerned about how they can get more viewers and TRP. If they have to spread fake information about something popular, they will not hesitate.
