why would you specifically put the large power mining the coin? You only overstate the complexity, it is possible to produce smaller capacity, thereby wasting fewer resources for production. This coin is almost no one produces.

Yes, I understand your dismay/frustration if your miner is with a low power of hash on an other pool !
It is the eternal problem : rapport of power and difficulty.
I can testing with my old gridseed's... but if other pool is stronger than me, so I have nothing.
I use 10-15 minutes my power and then 20-30 mins pause ( or I mine other coin if the weather is cold ) and so on.
My number of corners is 50 to 100 with each cycle.
Consumption is reduced. Difficulty is a wave !
I have a timer program for that with progammable plug.
Advantage also with large time of pause, the temperature is stabilized in my home.
If you are connected of my pool, you can profite of my minage also in proportion of your hash.
I had some probleme with a hight % CPU util with the explorer of the blocks. I think it's settled.
