Hi there,

Just a newbie question ,

I have coinomi wallet , how do i uprade it for the fork ?

You don't need to do anything. Just avoid sending or receiving BTG near the fork height.

You know, viruses was in early versions of your wallet.
What can you say about huge premine? About hidden fee in your pool from start? And users mined more then day after start and got nothing. Be careful with it.

You really know a lot about BTG's history! Looks like misunderstanding of BTG is very common. But we know that it's never too late for us to realize and begin to fix it Smiley

1. Our GitHub account was once hacked and the released binaries were replaced by a hacker. It doesn't come with any typical virus but added a very clever backdoor. We have never seen this kind of attack before. Fortunately we have finally solved the problem before the coins are hacked. Here's the analysis:
https://github.com/BTCGPU/BTCGPU/wiki/Replaced-Windows-Wallet-Problem-Analysis-(Nov-26th)
And the announcement after the accident:
https://medium.com/@btcgpu/vulnerable-wallets-and-the-suspicious-file-82cae0c48a48

2. The community endowment (or, premine as you said) is 0.5% of the total supply. We don't know any other altcoin with this tiny amount of premine. The endowment is mined by the miners by their willing. All the endowment are in 4-of-6 multisig with time-lock to ensure it won't be dump by any team member. The use of the endowment is totally for the development and community, as described in our FAQ (currently our website is under attack but as soon as it's recovered I will put the link here).

3. In principle, the pool z-nomp was developed by one of our core dev (Martin) and it hasn't once been included as a part of the official BTG project. It's his right to include any fee in the software (just as miners, but the pool is an opensource project). Some of the pool ops who had read the code have removed the fee and some had kept the fee. However one operator didn't read the code and complained on social medias. Then Martin admitted it's his fault for not addressing the fee everywhere in the documentation. And finally he returned all the fee to that pool, and donated the remaining to charities.

4. On the first day of the launch the partnered pool "pool.gold" has encountered some problems which caused it in an incorrect chain. Technically it was not a chain split because pool.gold itself produced a wrong chain. It ends up the pool lost some blocks. The pool finally 100% refunded all the miners according to the accepted shares in the database.

Hope you are happy with my answers.

Be careful with this fork, maybe viruses in this programms.

The code is signed with my PGP key. The precompiled binaries are also signed with my PGP key. I'm legally responsible if the wallet contains any malware.

Bitmain embezzled customers’ miners to block SegWit

I'm posting this on behalf of the original author vexz in 8btc.com. Link to his profile: http://8btc.com/space-uid-10012.html.

The original post was written in Chinese. I translated it to English with the help of Letkor Nigusta (@mrletkor).

----

I'm a Bitcoiner from China. I have come here to bitcointalk.org to inform you the reason of the abnormal LTC hashrate fluctuation.

As we all know, LTC is trying to activate SegWit. However, the progress has now been blocked by LTC1BTC.com and LRC.top as they increased their hashrate by a huge amount on Apr.17. So we guessed that Bitmain had a batch of new assembled LTC miners that will be sold to customers soon, and these miners were causing the hashrate abnormality. Actually, the hashrate of Antpool jumped from 100GH/s to 400GH/s and it suddenly jumped back to normal. To make it less obvious, more than 700GH/s hashrate was moved from Antpool to LTC1BTC.com and then to LTC.top later. This is no accident, we all know that the owner of Antpool, Jihan Wu, and the owner of LTC1BTC & LTC.top, Zhuoer Jiang, are both well known BU supporters. They are closely related with each other and are backed by Bitmain. It's an open secret that these two guys conspired together to make this happen.

On Apr. 18, lots of Bitcoiners in 8btc.com, a famous Bitcoin forum in China, were angry about this scandal and denounced Wu and Jiang. Later on the same day, Charlie Lee was infuriated by Wu & Jiang's plan to block SegWit on LTC and left their internal WeChat group.

While we were guessing on where the huge hashrate came from, we found that the things are going to be really worse than what we expected. Today, Bitmain's sales sent a notification to customers who pre-ordered their LTC miner Antminer L3+. They claimed that there will be a shipping delay of the miners due to firmware bugs. The delivery date is still TBD. Customers can choose to cancel the order, or get daily compensation before the shipment.

In other words, Bitmain is stealing over 700GH/s hashrate from those who bought the miners.

This scandal has an extremely bad influence in China Bitcoin community. What I want to say is that most Chinese Bitcoiners support rational Bitcoin upgrades like SegWit and are against BU. But indeed, there are some interest groups supporting BU for their own benefits. There's no way to speak rationally to the evil guys like Wu and Jiang. The only way to make Bitcoin greater, is to completely defeat them.
