Im a little confused with the OP's suggestions. In the first post he clearly recommends the Xilinx VCU1525 but later on, throughout the thread, he shows his preferences for the Bittware XUPP3R-VU9P.

Surely the bitstream will be chip-specific so if that is the case then he or someone will have to "compile" a bitstream for each device. And as he seems to be working more closely with Bittware that will take preference.

The Xilinx DK-U1-VCU1525-A-G is a dev board and locally the price is very high. If I need to buy two to run one also but the OP preference is Bittware then that Is a sizeable investment to risk. I really think that this will change the face of Altcoins but we will need more bitstream developers.

As said before we need the Clyamores/Wolfs of FPGA's and Open Hardware design.

they use the same xilinx chip.

For Ravencoin and Bitcore, the DDR4 is not used for hashing at all, but rather to store hundreds of different FPGA configuration bitstreams, which allows the entire FPGA to rapidly reprogram itself on every block based on the algorithm sequence for that block.  Cryptonight7 and Equihash, on the other hand, would use the external memory for actual hashing.  Whether CN7/Equihash gain from additional RAM depends on how those algorithms are ultimately implemented.

Could't we open a telegram/discord for this? there is so much to ask, answer and share...

Let me know if there are at least 3/4 ppl interested i would be in

im in.

never used discord/telegram before but im sure i can figure it out.

Just created, give it a try

discord need voice? eeeeew.no thanks, lemme try telegram

EDIT and telegram wants my phone number. bleh. maybe later.

None of that mate, telegram is account based, not number. And Discord has a public ID where your email is always hidden.

The intro price (at Avnet) on the VCU1525 is $3995 USD, but it will be going up to around $5K in July.  The Bittware XUPP3R-VU9P crypto version is $5895 USD, and has two advantages over the VCU1525: (1) it has four QSFP28 100G ports so you can daisy chain 4 FPGA's together to mine Xevan at 162MH/s, and (2) it has flexible memory options, so you can install either DDR4 or QDRII+ SRAM; the QDR memory gives way faster hash rates on Equihash vs. DDR4.   I've been in communication with many members of this forum who are already organizing a group buy.

this difference between the vcu1525 and the XUPP3R-VU9P is mainly the better memory option. how much of a difference is this expected to be?

im am so down with this project, i love the fact i can just drop it into my onda board with no mods.. the "just anther videocard" format has me hooked.

This is a interesting topic! Cant say i like it too much considering i have 8x 1080 ti on the way lol Tongue
But il just have to hope it does not become a too big success for a decent amount of time. Cant buy the FPGA as im in Europe, or il have ot use Digikey if that works Smiley

You are not alone, but the fact that these are not kept in stock scares me the most. It could take forever to have them without a group buy.

I suggest again, someone in US could buy for Europe and ship (with escrow even from a trusted member of this forum if possible)

If anyone is interested let me know, i'd like to discuss further

Who's organizing the group buy?

I was going to organize it. I am in contact with Jason. The things are:

1) There is no discount for group buy

2) They ONLY ships to the USA

Found these available online in other countries ( https://www.digikey.it/product-detail/it/xilinx-inc/DK-U1-VCU1525-A-G/122-2072-ND/7930881 )

Is this the exact same item?

In case it is not, could we (UK) pay an additional shipping from USA to european countries?

THanks

on zcoin suprnova, had payouts but a lot of rejected. No answer from them or support.

It looks dodgy while you mine but seems sort of ok for the rest

Just my 2 cents

Hi all,

i am been mining zcoin on suprnova for around a month now, but i would really like to try solo mining with a couple rigs. Could anyone help me with this?

I have followed the guide on zcoin website but having issues on CCminer.

I am having a get_work failed issue shown, but will share more details.

Thanks in advance to any willing guru!

My bad, i thought that the 2 companies were going to become one!

Basically PlanetCrypto is the client of a separate project where Gekko is the manufacturer.

Best luck to both so...

" If the many what put up cash want to elect the "inner circle" based on criteria of competence in their various fields (technical expertise for dev teams, managerial experience for administration, etc), then have no further real active role in the process, that'd be alright"

Pretty much what i meant

But please remember that you are still dividing gekkoscience from the investors

"My company (GekkoScience) will never be publicly traded. No shares will ever be sold. I am fundamentally opposed to the idea of paying someone who did not work for it, and I don't consider "having money already" as an adequate replacement for actual labor. I am also fundamentally opposed to the idea of someone buying a position of authority over my decisions. It's for these reasons that we avoid investors wherever possible (and loans are a last-ditch measure)."

Having a financing entity AND gekkosciance is pretty much the same than financing INTO gekkoscience.

You can call it as you want but if a whale retrieves the investment you lose the ability to finish your product...
Thin line between whay you stated and what planetcrypto stated.

Still think that he he is right about caring on investors.

Whouldnt you reward philipma for babysitting the eventual thread?
Cheers guys, have a nice day

I mostly agree with Sidehack in this round, except for one thing

i also think that a whale wallet should not be able to interfere with the ideas of a "technical" experts, but we must recognise that the technical expert should have the agreement from THE INNER CIRCLE (cit. american dad)
The inner circle is as side said the ensamble of technical, management, sales and pr team.

These people should be elected by every other inner circle's startup component OR/AND by shareholders accordingly.

The thing that i agree the most with sidehack is that more money should not mean more voting capacity, IMO every holder counts 1(because the only thing we assume as always true is that every shareholder has interest in the success of the company).

i personally do not agree with what side said about importance of duty holders.
i am sure for personal experience that a dev will not arrive to success without a salesman, a manager or a pr guy(or a financier). BUT true also that any of these others will not obtain anything without a dev!
The hours that you put now into the project will be the same that the others will dedicate when the product will be ready (i am not saing that these hours have the same technical or financial value.. maybe less or maybe more).

About the value given to a worker like sidehack...
too many options... really...
-Assign a fixed percentage of every financier's input to him or anyone else actively working (inner circle)
-Salary (totally given or partially converted in shares)
-Assign a value to him(and all the inner members) based on the job done or to do in the project and pay it in shares

many other ways....

Thanks guys for keeping my brain moving  Grin
