Re: Do Altcoins really have a future?
by

Nolan Bauerle, research director at CoinDesk, says 90% of cryptocurrencies today will not survive a crash in the markets. Those that survive will dominate the game and boost returns for early investors. And those returns are substantial, if one were to believe RBC Capital’s estimate of a future $10 trillion market for cryptocurrencies.

Re: Top 2 altcoins to invest in NOW.

I think stellar is one of the best altcoins to buy in 2018. Stellar has additional room to run. Unlike the scalability-challenged bitcoin, the stellar blockchain closes transactions within seconds, not hours or days. As the blockchain concept becomes an everyday reality, transaction speed will be critical. Furthermore, stellar extends the lightning-quick transactions to fiat currencies. For example, users can swiftly convert dollars to euros, rather than relying on cumbersome and expensive banking institutions. Recognizing the potential, International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) uses the stellar blockchain to develop a payments system with large banks.

A good bounty can be found on Bitcointalk forum. If you search in the right places for the right keywords you can find thousands of them. Another option is google something similar and you might have the luck to find something interesting.

Re: Altcoins You Think will Grow

I think ethereum is a true outlier and it is the only crypto-currency believed by experts to be able to overtake Bitcoin Market cap in the near future. Ethereum started in 2013 and had 40x growth rate over the last two years. Its platform allows creating a smart contract that runs on a decentralized network and runs exactly as programmed without any possibility of downtime, fraud, censorship or any third party interface. The team behind Ethereum is really exceptional. They are doing an amazing job to show the real potential of the Ethereum. Also, the degree of adoption of Ethereum is phenomenal at the moment. Many developers are working on apps that use the potential of smart contracts. If one cryptocurrency can make it big, it’s Ethereum. If already went over 1000% over the course of couple of months and it could go 1000% more over the next few months – that much potential this cryptocurrency has.

I think now is the best time to invest in bitcoin, because with more exposure to Bitcoin and its return, demand of Bitcoin is increasing but it’s production is limited. High demand, low supply leads to price rise.

Altcoin is the alternative cryptocurrency launched after the success of Bitcoin. Generally, they project themselves as better substitutes to Bitcoin. The success of Bitcoin as the first peer-to-peer digital currency paved the way for many to follow. Many altcoins are trying to target any perceived limitations that Bitcoin has and come up with newer versions with competitive advantages. There is a great variety of altcoins.

Re: do you think younger generation is more open to technology?

I think young people have been buying and using the crypto currency. But more importantly, they’re starting businesses around it. We take a look at six companies, run by entrepreneurs under 20 years of age, to get an insight into how they're using Bitcoin and why this generation is adopting fast than the rest. College students have always been interested in pursuing and adopting new technologies and it isn’t any different for Bitcoin.

Re: Investment in ICO
by
haji lulung

ICO means that you can buy a coin, token or a stock before it goes public. Many of the projects you can find on Coinmarketcap are from the pre ICO times where there was just an announcement that on day X there will be start of mining of that coin. Usually the creators premined some of the coins and the rest was just mined out by users. Then trading started and the price discovery process had begun. When you invest into an ICO it's worth what it's worth! If a project collects 5000 bitcoins it's worth 5000 bitcoins. They have that hard value and from now on it can only grow, right? So the first benefit of an ICO is that it's really unlikely to be worth less when it hits exchanges.

I think it's the time to buy more bitcoin. Bitcoin will be the currency of choice. Maybe it will replace the U.S. dollar as the staple of commerce. I know some people would never embrace bitcoin, nor would plenty of others. But younger generations will be more open, I’m sure.

Re: Still believe in ICO ?
by

The majority of the world's financial markets are now tightly regulated, and for that reason, fraud is becoming increasingly rare. Enterprising scammers are turning to fintech innovation which is currently unregulated – cryptocurrency. There are many projects as scam only when it is proven that the money collected during a pre-ICO or ICO was stolen and the team has disappeared.
We believe that cryptocurrency is the future and that this current period of uncertainty is temporary, it is still wise to be cautious and prudent before investing your hard earned fiat or cryptocurrency in new ventures.

Re: Why to Invest in ICO?
by

on 27/02/2018, 03:22:34 UTC
The reasons why ICO could be a great investment today because ICOs nowadays are raising a ridiculous amount of money.
what should we be looking into when we are about to invest to make sure that you are not going to get scammed :
- The project developers should be able to clearly define the purpose of their project using simple and short sentences.
- Make sure that the developers are not anonymous.
- There should be a legal framework between the developers and the contributors including terms and conditions set for the ICO.

Re: Is a million dollars possible?
by

We can make all the predictions that we want, but no one knows what the future holds for Bitcoin. Is it just a fad or could Bitcoin genuinely develop into an everyday currency? If it really took off, would the government not just ban it completely? Only time will tell, but for now let's speculate.
As of December 2017, the price of Bitcoin is past $18,000 – some people have made millions and billions investing in Bitcoin. Furthermore, there have been hard forks (i.e. splits) into things like Bitcoin Cash, which also have boosted people's profits.

Re: Is Ripple a true Cryptocurrency?
by
haji lulung
on 27/02/2018, 00:57:13 UTC
What is Ripple? Technically speaking, is Ripple a cryptocurrency in the mold of Bitcoin? The short answer is probably “no,” but that doesn’t stop it from often being lumped into that same category.
Originally released in 2012 as a subsequent iteration of Ripplepay, Ripple is a real-time gross settlement system (RTGS), currency exchange and remittance network. Using a common ledger that is managed by a network of independently validating servers that constantly compare transaction records, Ripple doesn't rely on the energy and computing intensive proof-of-work used by Bitcoin. Ripple is based on a shared public database that makes use of a consensus process between those validating servers to ensure integrity. Those validating servers can belong to anyone, from individuals to banks.

ICO is a new industry venture and have many unique risks that make them different from an IPO you will find on the stock market. However, no investment is a sure thing. And even if you have a long-term focus, finding a successful ICO will be difficult.

Yes, I think we need always need to fear a hacker, most of them are merciless, can cause great harm to us (if they want to), mysterious, with secret agendas. Hacking is developing, day by day, reaching new heights, that means more pain in the ass for the victim.

I think investing isn't a get rich quick tactic or something you can do for a short period of time and expect to make a significant amount of money. It's often a long-term process, one that requires patience, commitment, and keeping calm when the market fluctuates.

Re: Is it safe to participate in ICO's?
by
haji lulung
on 22/02/2018, 02:00:31 UTC
ICO is a fundraising mechanism where new projects sell their underlying crypto tokens in exchange for bitcoin and ether. As the company’s value gets higher and becomes well established in the marketplace, the token’s value rises as well, which enables investors to gain more profits.
Unfortunately the crypto space has become riddled with scams and cons. Its difficult to tell sometimes which projects are true, from those that are only designed as money grabbers.
In order to differentiate the scam and con ICOs from those that are true, we need to look at the following; The team, 3rd party/independent escrow provider, is the website secure?, Community response, KYC/AML - Does the project implement or conduct any form of KYC (Know Your Customer) or AML (Anti Money Laundering) processes?
