You should check your coins first whether they have a project (product) to survive long term in crypto world. Crypto market is full of scam coins so you need to be aware of your coins. If you have coins that are available on top 5 exchanges and have a working team then your coins will rise sooner or later.
Always remember market will play against you sometimes so just hodl and wait for your coins to rise,
What altcoins are you guys picking up for cheap in this dip?
Finding a good altcoin is really a very tough job. You need to research about the coin who is behind it. The coin should have a good project with feasible product. The coin should have open codes on github and have a so called roadmap and timeline for upcoming updates. You need to check the previous price history and charts of the coin. Coin have listed on good exchanges and have good volume so you can buy and sell your coins easily. I would prefer you to have a look on ADA, NEO , NANO , ETH ,EOS , XLM.
Always remember sometimes market will play against you so just trust on your holding and wait for reversal.
Bitcoin is known as the king(father) of crypto currencies , but why is that so ?I have been for several months now reading a lot about the whole crypto ecosystem, i even bought several bitcoins.
Enough background, now on to the topic at hand.
1. Low Fees - Nowadays the average fee for BTC is under $0.5 that was a very good sign for adoption of Bitcoin on large scale. In late 2017 Bitcoin fee was very high around $15 and that time the model of Satoshi Nakamoto is seems to be failed to transfer across the world with almost no fee but the fee is very small and one can easily make a transfer of $5 anywhere in the world.
2 Store of value - It's still a lot. Physical gold has survived wars and governments. Now we have it's virtual version(Bitcoin) that can't be falsified and is easy to carry and trade. Isn't it great?
Bitcoin is functioning as a payment system in Korea and Japan. I could even order food with it or pay the dentist nearby. It's fun to be using something nobody else does, it's a great talk at parties and a great speculative asset, just ask all those traders who made it their full-time job.
3. Lightning Network - LN is making Bitcoin more valuable. Small stores and companies accepting bitcoin using LN that was perfect for small transactions.
Mostly the name, the established brand, as well as the community. Currently people are using it as a safe haven during unstable times. Read what's happening in Venezuela and Zimbabwe. A similar thing was happening in China before the ban. People are using it to do everything the governments are trying to stop them from. Moving money out of the country, hiding income, buying banned goods and services, gambling. It's a rebel coin and the rebel in me is supporting it in full.
In addition, Bitcoin is more accessible, with more exchanges, more merchants, more software and more hardware that support it. Bitcoin is far more liquid, with much larger volumes than every crypto currencies. Bitcoin has the largest developer ecosystem with more software and more implementations than any crypto currencies. Bitcoin has the most entrepreneurs creating companies around it with a lot of intellect, dedication and creativity going toward making it more useful.
When you compete with Bitcoin, not only are you competing with its much larger user base, development team and mining operation, but youre also competing against the very large ecosystem of startups, open source projects and entrepreneurs.

Bitcoin transaction fee is approximately higher on exchanges and transfer time is also too much
Also there are many alts which have lower transaction fee and fast transaction even on exchanges
But If we search for best one to transfer our funds from one exchange to other than I suggest you to use stellar (xlm)
Reasons to use xlm :
-it is available mostly on all exchanges
-it has good volume on all exchanges as compared to that exchange total volume
-it has lower fee (0.0001$ approx) than all alts on exchanges
-it is instantly transfer in seconds even through exchanges (exchanges takes more confirmations for other alts but for xlm they takes only one confirmation mostly)
So I found it best for transfer funds between exchanges. I uses xlm always when there is instant requirement for funds on any exchange or I have to transfer small amount.
I hope this information will be helpful for people ( mostly traders and Noobs having small amount )

I suggest you to use LTC (Litecoin) coin. LTC is quite fast and have very low fee and almost available on all exchanges.
LTC have good volume and have low vulnerability in price so its good to use LTC without losing your money.
Other coins you can use to transfer between exchange are TRX , EOS , NEO , ETH.
Since in the present time most of the guys are full of knowledge that which thing is perfect and which is not .
But still here I found that many of the newbies and small Bitcoiners are not using better Bitcoin wallet because at one side they are small Bitcoin Amount dealers and at another side lots of fee system results into very less profit for them .
So here I would like to suggest for all the Bitcoin users that they should use Bitcoin segwit wallet by electrum , this wallet is available at play store and windows Mac all ( electrum , sign up as Bitcoin segwit wallet ).

Etherium is a very good coin have working team and have new roadmap for 2019.
POS is added to ETH chain soon which makes it fast and more secure.
You can hold ETH for as long as you want.

The best and simple way of trading is buy in dip and sell at high.
You need to wait for the dip and hold your coins .
Sell the coin when you are satisfied with your profits.

You need to research about the team and project of coin before investment.
ICO investment will give you profits but is a little bit risky.
So buy only good coins on exchange.

I don't think so that January situation come again.This is just a small correction and there are good news about bitcoin in the coming months .
