Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning

When Ethereum hits the market.........I'll be there to pick up the pieces of all the get rich quickers who don't know anything about long term development.  I missed out on the IPO but now that I think about it I'm not saddened...chup.  I'll be there at the dip and support Ethereum when all others make their mistakes.

+1! I guarantee people will be picking up Etherium at levels well below the IPO price. And I will be amongst them  Smiley

Even though I bought in at IPO, I agree and will be there too purchasing more

If everybody belives that something will definitively rise or in this case fall, it will usually go the other way...

I'm fairly suprised that a lot of people seem to belive that the idea will work, but on the other hand also belive market cap will go below 15million USD later on. It's a very complex technology that can fail in so many ways, but assuming it won't fail AND prices will also fall is a really bold bet. Consider how a single game is currently valued at several billions and a truly gamechanging innovation like ethereum should be only valued at a few million. Seriously, do you belive you are soo much smarter than everybody else?!

I'm not saying that prices won't be crashing a few weeks after launch, I'm just saying is that nobody knows to what market cap it could crash to. All I know so far is that there are a lot of people waiting to invest in ether, and this is usually not a sign of falling prices.

No. But I would give up my country.

I would to if it was  a constitutional republic with liberty for all individuals but that country does not exist on this earth
I belive that bitcoin and the whole crypto+P2P innovations are nessasary, but not sufficient inventions for such utopia.

F.e. fiat money would be a great monetary system far better than bitcoin if some interrest groups hadn't been able to change the rules to their own egoistic benefits. Power has to be directly in the hands of the people (not given individuals like a gov) for not getting abused for a few individuals. Since recently no people weren't able to handle that power for themselves, but bitcoin is the first innovation that allows a group of people to have power without requireing a goverment.

There is no bitcoin goverment and those great people currently working at it are 100% replace- & removeable at no cost. That's how a gov has to be for that utopia.

Interresting, or should I better say Interrested ...  Cool

What I don't get here is how you want to prevent someone to be 1000 times interrested. On the other hand who'd care so much about another copy paste coin.
All I'm interrest in is ROI and that would be huge if this get's any value at all.

For your initial distribution I'd suggest the following:
Only give 50% to people that are interrested and begin to "sell" the rest after lauch.

By "sell" I mean sending BTC it to an invalid adress at an insane price that adjusts with the P2P exchange. Like a marketmaker but just in one direction to prevent bubbles.

That looks cool, but personally I think it would look better if the octaeder would be more noticeable.

if it comes down to the wire, between the governments killing bitcoin and you giving your life to save it, would you?
Not for bitcoin, but I'd fight for the freedom to use stuff like bitcoin.

Bitcoin is just the first great application of cryptography+P2P and it's hardly used yet. Decentralized money is just the first step to a decentralized goverment. Stuff like bitcoin will give us, the people, back the -cracy in democracy. (lat. dêmos=people;kratos=power).

Re: [PRE-ANN] #coin is coming...

Interresting.

I think this coin could have potential, but only if you get some features that make use of the #-tag. Nobody cares about another bitcoin fork, that time is over.
After I first read about this coin I had some ideas that I want to share with you:

1)Use passwords to generate adresses like nxt coin. Bitcoin adresses/priv keys are impossible to remember so name adresses like nxt-coin.
If you are afraid people are too stupid to do it safely add a 6digit random nummer to the users choise. This should make it impossible to brute force wallets unless you know the password. If the user forgetts that number he can still recover the wallet by brute force though.

2)Allow users to set a arbitrary adress to recive funds. (like real hashtags)

For a fee you can permanently register a new hashtag to the blockchain. Everyone can use that tag so nobody owns it exclusively. Every adress can enable just 1 hashtag and will get a chance at the donations to that tag. Donations could be directly or a share of a txt-fee if the sender includes a tag, otherwise nobody gets it. Free change with every txt, leave it or donate it.

The tricky part here is to prevent a 100gb blockchain/month so you can't save all and ever info, but that's not needed. The idea is a bit complex, but in short it's the following:

Every day the funds of each tag will be given to one random adress of that tag. That's just one txt per tag that is generated so there isn't much data here. After that all those "enable hashtag" are removed and you'd need to enable it again. This allows users to delete this from their HDD since it isn't needed anymore. Clients could also ignore it completely, but miners must process it. No cencorship.

This would also allow timestamp the whole chain so txt on #coin could be as safe as on bitcoin!

If you are interrsted i can go more into tec details, but as far as I see it there are no drawbacks other than 1additional bit per txt and people sending useless txt for fun.

PS: What's about the IPO? Can you give more details?

Well for the moment, i'm lookin at VERTCOIN.
Never hear about it, but with that many new coins around ATM...

What innovation do you see in it? Can you name 3things that makes this worth looking at?

I'm actually surprised with the results (I'm not new to crypto).
My expectations was far less on "bitcoin-only", but people here are usually new to crypto and don't know much about altcoins yet.

You can actually make money trading altcoins..at least if you have any sense not to mine all the new coins with...lousy names for example Tongue
The only way I see to currently get returns on bitcoins is via altcoin tradeing.

It doesn't matter what you belive will happen on BTC vs altcoin in the long run, we live now. Current returns on altcoins vs BTC are insane and there is no other way that can double one bitcoin faster. (regardless of BTC/USD)  The (unlikely) risk of a bitcoin-killer is here and the bitcoin protocoll would never able to adapt fast enough. It's 100% impossible that f.e we will ever see PoS in bitcoin since there are far to many people (miners) interrested in keeping it the way it is.

Ignoring altcoins is like igoring the most innovative part of crypto. People were able to see the potential of bitcoin, but now some of those are so in love with bitcoin that they can't see the potential in altcoins. Altcoins don't need bitcoiners to buy them, there are sill enough people left that haven't heard of crypto yet.
