Long story but I received bad news regarding a potentially terminal illness an had to seek medical experts to get well.  I have since recovered but decided to change some habits.  It has been an awesome ride here but I must spend more time with the family and am in the process of relocating in the next few months with a major job change in the works.
 
For those interested in taking over the project I have version 2 of the HIC website (using bootstrap back end) so we can replace the wordpress one.  I also have completed and QA tested version 2 of the wallet with an entirely new interface (Hawaiian theme)...which I was planning to launch until I got word of my health problem.

Email me at hicoin.org@gmail.com and I'll be happy to hand over the logins for all of the HIC sites including github in the hopes that someone will be able to continue the legacy!

Step 1.1:  Add Msys-Perl package.  I tried to do .configure for openSSL and it complained about not having PERL available.  After going back into MinGW and selecting to install Msys-Perl the configuration of openSSL worked perfectly.

Please consider adding Hawaiicoin (HIC).

Great job!  People here often speak about how Hawaii should attract more tech entrepreneurs which in turn would generate more brain trust and less brain drain.  Let's be honest, island visionaries like us are a rare breed here.
 
I personally applaud any effort such as yours where you have decided to step outside of your comfort zone, forgo the sun and surf time, and instead take the time to research bitcoin while you develop, invest and launch this project.  Let's continue all of our efforts to ensure that hope for a better Hawaii exists to those who live here and that folks like us remain a resource for those who wish to live here and flex their entrepreneurial muscles like you just did.

Also, for the BFGminer, i can't really say.  Try unplugging and replugging your mining gear while BFGminer is running...never used BFGminer, only CGminer with the --hotplug option (I think BFGminer is set to hotplug by default).

Find your hawaiicoin folder (windows>start>run>%APPDATA%) and go into it.
In start>run type in "notepad" to start a new text file.  Save as> select type *all and type in hawaiicoin.conf as the file name.
Then place this inside your new hawaiicoin.conf file:
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=password
rpcport=8836
gen=1

Restart your wallet
Then point your CPU/GPU/ASIC miner to http://127.0.0.1:8836
Use the user and password you specified above in your conf file.  Will start solo mining.

What is P2Pool url please

Can anyone help with the code that's required in main.cpp for a scrypt-POW altcoin in order to reset the diff?  Diff is at 8 which is too high since a few of us are pulling 1MHs on the coin network...we need it reset back to default or at least 1.  Where would be place the code to do this?

We are sorry for the inconvenience that the shift to rediff at block 20k has caused us all.  I am here to assure you we are working on a solution as fast as we can.  We've been looking into the issue and at this time do not have an ETA on a fix.  Yes, the blockchain is stuck at height 20,005 with a diff of 2,500 and it hurts...We've been cranking away for 4 days now trying to release that block.
