i have a 5850 and 5830 the fan on the 5850 is an 80mm.when the fan does go i plan on getting something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103071 and cut the fan out of the frame,bend the legs and drill the 3 holes.probably have to change the connector,but as long as the amperage is the same it should work

I never tried stock volts but i'm running mine at 1025/300 1.175 volts and the fan at 60%.I just bumped up the voltage to make sure and it's been running since around june or july

I run my 5830 at 1025/300 @1.175volts,it seems after you drop the memory you don't need as much voltage.The best flags for me is  -v    -f1

Are you using the latest guiminer 8-24?I had connection problems with it and had to go back to the 7-1 guiminer.look in the console and see if it says something about io connection error

With trixx you can set each card separately,i have a 5850(925/300),5830(1025/300) and a 4830(750/750) in the same system.And i have voltage control (except the 4830)

I use sapphire trixx .Does afterburner give you voltage control?

I have that same card and i run it at 1025/300 1.175 volts. -v    -f1 give me the best hash rate(320-325),if i put -w128 the rate goes down

It's more profitable to buy and sell coins then it is to mine them.You buy at 6-7 dollars that drives the price back up then sell at 11-12 dollars and that drives the price back down and you keep doing it over and over

I had my 5850 xtreme all apart(i tried to mount an accelero on it),the heatsink off the fan out and i never looked to see how the fan came apart,the next time coins drop to 6 dollars and i shut my miners down and i'll strip it down and oil the fans.I'll take pictures
