Motherboard question (ASrock b250m pro4)

Good morning all -

I originally planned on using only 2 cards so i got the asrock b250m pro4 (decent mobo with 2 full x16 slots for me to put cards into)

However i got a good deal on some more cards and am planning to go with a 5 card setup.

The mobo has 3 pcie slots, and 2 m.2 slots.  It looks like one of the m.2 might drop a sata (who cares), and the other might share with one of the pcie dropping it to gen 2 or gen3 x4?

My plan is to use 2 m.2 to pcie risers and then 5 regular risers from the 2 m.2 adapters and the 3 pcie slots.

Can anyone confirm this will work?

Planning to set tolud to 3.5 or even 2.5 (running ubuntu), and then potentially adjusting pcie to gen 2 across the board.

I'm not sure. why? should I ask programmers?

Yes please if you dont mind.  It is usually between -5% and 100% off of my actual earnings. I'm trying to compare it against my earnings and against whattomine.com

Are you able to be a little more specific? Last hour of payments? Last day of payments? 2 last payments with the time between them extrapolated?

Asrock B250m pro 4 works like a charm with m2 adaptor. I have one that is not the usual 4x pcie slot but a usb connector. Been using it for days together with two cards in the 16x slots. this mobo does 3 cards like that. Gigabyte z270p-d3 also works fine with M2 adaptor, running 5 cards now.
Do you mind letting me know what settings in the bios you had to use to get 5 cards running?

I have the same board. going to be running ubuntu, with the riser setup - 2 m.2 to pcie adapters, and then 5 risers (3 to the regular pcie and 2 to the m.2 adapters)

ill be using 1060's

is it just set 4g decoding to ON and then the upper memory lower (tulad? w.e that is) to 1gb?

ya optipessi... im not sure why youre taking so much time out of your day to attack this fork.

at least for me who is new to mining... i tried nvoc 19. didnt work.  tried 19.4 , worked great.  wanted to update so i tried the community build and the temp control was broken.  so i went back to 19.4.  wanted to update again so i tried pxa fork. hopped on discord and was able to get instant answers direct from pxa.  now its working great and im happy again.

not saying the community build isnt as fast on discord at all, i just didnt try them yet.

but bringing me back... are you mad you didnt fork ? or are you mad someone is forking and making money? im just confused

I've been using nvoc 1.9.4 for a few weeks now (tried 1.9 2? i guess. the community build but was having temp control issues)
going to be setting this up tonight and giving it a go but i wanted to say that the level of support im seeing on this thread is incredible (also in the other nvoc thread for that matter).  I feel like i get better support from all of the nvoc dev's/members than i do from microsoft and the other brands i have.

tl:dr - trying nvoc 1.9.6 tonight, GJ devs!

Is anyone else having issues with 19-2.0 auto temp?  When the miner restarts after a switch, it wont auto control the fans until i manually click "enable gpu fan settings" in nvidia server x

in miner temp control i get :
Error: error assigning value 33 to attribute 'GPUTargetFanSpeed'
(m1-desktop:0[fan:0]) as specified in assignment
'[fan:0]/GPUTargetFanSpeed=33' (unknown error)

Just checked after upgrading one rig. Exactly the same symptoms as you getting .

Thanks for the "enable gpu fan settings" tip. At least we can keep mining until we figure it out.

Just FYI, if it fails and has to restart, you'll need to recheck it. For some reason, It was re running the setup and I'd lose temp control again. I just went back to 19.4

Good evening all -

Is there a way to limit the algos that salfter MPH uses?  multi pool miner for example seems similar to salfters routine but allows the addition of only the algo's i want to run.

I'd like to use salfters system but limit it to say neoscrypt, equihash, lyra2re2, skein and lyra2z
