Naively got scammed too, unfortunately far to eagerly trying to spend my first bitcoin profit!

They've annoyed me somewhat though, so deciding to pursue this. Can anyone who has sent them coins without receiving anything from them (and obv are happy to allow me to) send me copies of their bitcoin transactions and transcripts of contact between themselves and asic-technologies?

Doubtful whether that's either a real name or address, but their hosting and domain was purchased through fasthosts.com. If I can collect a decent enough amount of info proving they've taken a decent amount of money, pretty sure they'll confirm whether or not that matches the billing address.

Planning to send both proof of purchase, along with the emails (as proof of site owner accepting order and bitcoin) and send them on to trading standards, the web host (who in the least will shut them down), plus the local police for edinburgh. If they're really there, sure a visit from the local bobbies may change their minds about refunds and continuing this scam!

How much do you reckon they'll be priced at (with or without the chips)?

What machine was that to guarantee that sort of return with a rising difficulty?

Recon the next step is going home made? Perhaps buying chips (maybe group buys) and just creating your own miner from scratch to keep costs to an affordable level?

At a difficulty rising by about 30% each time, reckon you'll be looking at 0.008 a day in 6 months. Depressing, but no one knows for certain!

Is bitcoin mining now forever extinct to new miners? With the more and more increasing difficulty level is it now unprofitable to start as a miner? Done a few calculations with one of the more powerful devices available (well almost), the Knc 550 ghps model. And looks like you'd be lucky to make a return on it, even with an optimistic rise in difficulty at 30%.

At about £3000 for the 550ghps model, looks like you'd only get a return of £775 profit after 6 months, at which point it would then no longer be worth turning on as it wouldn't cover the electricity costs.

Thoughts? Hoping I'm wrong, but isn't looking so with the rapidly increasing pool size.
