@jstefanop, since the open source Bitaxe Gamma device is already using the Bitmain BM1370 (S21 Pro chip), are there any plans for Futurebit to release an Apollo model based on that ASIC? Would be great to see that efficiency in your standalone, quiet form factor. I loved both previous designs, Apollo and Apollo II, still using Apollo II to this day.
Any roadmap or technical hurdles you can share?

We have started to tease the Apollo III and since the Apollo II is completely sold out we will have more info soon.

I wont touch Bitmain chips for the same reasons I started futurebit, I dont want to support them even if its just second hand chips (and I wouldn't put second hand chips in any of our products regardless...reflowing an ASIC 3 times drastically reduces its life/failure rate and is the reason we can offer a one year warranty when most bitaxe companies cant.

Either way we have solve the major ASIC supply issue with our last ASIC partnership that essentially hamstrung scaling the Apollo II.

The Apollo III will be a game changer in both specs (will be most things on the market) as well as even more important scaling this to levels we will be able to make a difference in the space.

Exciting stuff coming!

Thank you in advance

Only way I know is to reflash the SD card with the software image

Hello
I have Apolo2 standard unit. In winter I use standard mode, in summer eco mode.
Is there a custom mode "super eco" for summer (less heat)?

Switch it to manual then crank everything right down

Question - if I have my Apollo2 miners turned off but the node is still running - and I have an outside miner like a Bitaxe pointing to the node - why doesn't the SOLO Mining dashboard show it? It only shows the additional miner/worker when the Apollo miners are on. But it's still working against the node and hashing, so why wouldn't it show?

I've mentioned this previously. The node is still running, we just for some reason can't access the stats via the GUI. Not sure if the team is working on this but would be great if they could!

F1 was definitely worth the watch!

Really? I absolutely hated it! Cheesy

I'm a massive F1 fan so I was excited for it but it was just too stupid for me to get into. Are you more a casual fan? Every person I know who has seen it who is a big F1 fan had the same reaction as me. Sure, some of the scenes were absolutely STUNNING but man the story was a stinker and so much wrong with it.

I don't watch any Racing, back in the day I liked Lemans  but all the organized corporate team shit put me off on all of it.

Oh and F1 and Indy when Andretti was racing.

Glad to see others can enjoy it though, if it brings more people to F1 then it's a good thing (not for ticket prices to races however lol)

It certainly won't do that for me, I went for a steak right after and F1 was on and i watched the baseball game and I don't like baseball.

*also I might be the only person that liked Driven! Wink

I thought the trailer for mobile phones with a haptic response to the engine noise was pretty cool. I think that was the first use of that technology for media (at least produced legitimately from the source) and I’m actually surprised it took them so long. Haptic trailers will probably become the norm very soon.

Bitcoin go up.

I found it unrealistic that the models were not able to do airflow in corners but figured they just needed for the storyline to have something that his experience would help them win with rather than just being better than everyone else in a crappier car.

Hah well regardless I'm glad you got to watch it and enjoy it as a movie. Coming from a long time fan of the sport I just couldn't get the same satisfaction

When will we be able to run knots on the Apollo !! full node?

+1 for this question. Apollo 2 software update with this capability soon?

2.1 will be out shortly, we are working on user selectable node clients for 2.2 in a few months.

Needs lots of testing...our nodes being used as solo mining nodes carries more weight, last thing we want is to rush an update and then have someone fail to submit a valid block because of a badly tested node client.

FYI current client is 25.1 and 2.1 client will be 28.1. The controversial update is for 30 so there is not much functional differences between the clients we use as default and knots.

Looking forward to it! As always if you need any beta testing I'm happy to help!

I read somewhere that if it gets above 76  it may shut down or enter a protection mode and ramp up the fans to full speed.
My operation eco mode is below 70.  normal is 70-72.  fast is 72 to 74 with much higher fan speed.  room temp is around 78 Fahrenheit .
I cant run turbo with room temp above 72F.

if you have high temp issues, Have you shut down and cleaned the fan and box recently?   I get the air compressor out and blow air back through the apollo to blow all the fine dust out of it outside. lots of dust comes out, then my temp drops when I restart.  In eco mode I am not collecting as much dust with quiet slow fan speeds.

No problems. I run both on Turbo full time and on a warmer days I'll see 80c with no degradation in performance.  I couldn't find any info on the Futurebit site, so I was just wondering.

80c is the max, thermal shutdown is a few degrees above that

FYI if you are running in turbo with those temps make sure you check your power cord and see if it's getting hot. We are issuing a recall for all remaining early units (ordered Nov-Dec 23) to replace faulty power switches, which can cause this issue in turbo mode.

Yep I have an early batch and only messaged you guys the other week for a replacement switch because it was making an electrical arcing noise while using it (had been previously fine until then) so I think a recall notice for everyone who purchased those early units is a smart (and safe) idea

What is FutureBits' stance on the OP_RETURN debate? Would you give us an option to switch to Knots instead of Core for the node? And being able to filter out spam? I know it's an older version of Core right now but it's going to be updated eventually right?

Came to ask the same thing. Would like to run knots if possible.

Trying to find out how to run Bitcoin Knots on my Apollo II full node also. Any step by step instructions?

From what I understand there's a future update coming out that will let us chose our own node implementation software; I suggest waiting for that for ease of use

Great news! I appreciate the FutureBit team for a great product and look forward to this update.

If you haven't seen, they are teasing Apollo III on X....

Does this mean that we will not see this for Apollo II? I suggest holding off on purchasing this product until it is implemented

They backported the current OS to the original Apollo so I don't see why that wouldn't be the case here as well. I'd imagine it will run the same or similar controller to what the Apollo II uses now
